Description:

Okay, I'll admit it. Friendship bracelets are kind of my thing. But I know I'm not alone here. For this swap, we are extending the definition of friendship bracelet to anything primarily made of fiber. Normally, friendship bracelets are knotted and cotton, right? Well, you can make one like that for your partner. You could also use hemp or some other twine. You could also sew or crochet something. Check the comments for your partner's wrist measurements and make your bracelet to fit them. And last of all, have fun!

Include a letter one page or less handwritten, so it could be short enough that it's really more of a note. Just tell your partner a little bit about what you're sending and a stray thought or two.

When I assign partners, I will check profiles and ratings. If I remove anyone, I will message them first.

Measure your wrist with a tape measure or a piece of string and put your wrist's actual size in inches and in centimeters in the comments.

As I have never made a friendship bracelet before I am going to practice before I join this swap :)

I love making these and can't wait to craft one especially for someone else! My wrist measurement is six inches.

My wrist size is 7" (18cm) but I like my bracelets to fit between 7.5-8" (19-20cm).

I'm a beginner and have never made the 'traditional' friendship bracelet, but I know this one pattern that I learned in Girl Guides, that I find so therapeutic when making it, so I'm going to give it a go and do that! Can we give the fiber bracelets minimal embellishments? e.g beads or a couple of buttons/sequins? I'll comment back with my wrist measurements once I have tracked down the tape measure!

My wrist is 6 1/2 inches, wouldn't mind a 7inch bracelet so it's not too tight a fit :)

@Emilyjane - to answer your question, yes, but the bracelet should appear mainly to be fiber. Your examples are all fine. Embellishments are fine as long as the majority of the bracelet is fiber.

Brilliant,I will keep that in mind!

Partners are assigned. A few people have not left their size in the comments. If this is you, please do so now, or send a message to the person who is sending to you (click "rate your partner" to find out who that is). Thanks!
