Hi Sarah! Terry Prattchets books are mainly based on 'The Discworld' A satirical take off of our own world with funny comparisons. He also does some childrens books, some of which keep the discworld theme and are charming for kids and adults. If you decide to give him a try I recommend starting with the color of magic, the first in the series :)
