I am a happily married 37 year old mother of three girls, ages 6,10 and 15.....

For most of my time as a Swap-bot member that first sentence was all that I had listed to describe myself. I was just a mom and a wife living a very normal comfortable life. The summer of 2012 things changed dramatically when I started experiencing random bouts of abdominal pain. Long story short I was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer at the age of 36. I was told that I would need surgery one day in October and when I fully regained consciousness it was almost Christmas and I was in a different hospital. When I awoke I could not speak, walk or even move over on my side without assistance. My arms were littered with scars from multiple IV attempts. I went a full week without looking at myself and when I did I was horrified, my skin had darkened and I looked skeletal. My children visited me for Christmas and my youngest daughter entered the room and said who is that? I spent a totally of 4 months in the hospital, away from my family. Anyway, I have now been home for a year :) I am a shadow of my former self but I am still here. I am undergoing chemotherapy and it is about as awful as it gets but I am willing to fight so that I can be here for my little ones and my husband (my big baby) :)

3/7/14 I just found out after 16 rounds of chemotherapy and the horrible side effects that that brings, that my cancer is growing...

I am devastated!

I like all kinds of music, I don't limit myself to any particular genre. If I hear a song and it moves me, I like it. But nothing vulgar. My iPod has it all rock, pop, rap, country, classical, big band and jazz.

I will read just about anything. I have always had a thing for horror particularly Stephen King. Some of my other favorite authors/poets are John Grisham, John Steinbeck, Langston Hughes, Harper Lee, and Richard Wright.

Of course I love anything that will scare me but again I am open to anything. Some of my favorites are Sling Blade, The Notebook, Good Will Hunting and Remember the Titans. I love anything with Will Smith, Independence Day, Men in Black and Hancock. I also enjoy Phillip Seymour Hoffman's films, he was a great talent. He will be missed.

I like to watch old family sitcoms, like Roseanne and Cosby. I also like the walking dead and American Horror Story.

I have 3 girls and we love crafting. I am teaching myself to sew and I am really enjoying it but my first love is cooking and baking!
