html slinger by day, closet wannabe crafter by night. i took fine arts in university (heavy on the painting and design courses) and went on to become a web designer. recently i've been trying to get back to making REAL things.

ok realized what a big help these profiles are so i tried to flesh mine out a bit more (it's basically a bunch of personal quirks and insights as to who i am and what i like...not meant to be a shopping list. i'm sure i'll love anything people send me):

i'm a leo. i live in canada. i'm a cat person.

i like spring but i especially love fall. i like patio season, girly drinks, good food and even better desserts. i like sushi, avocado/tomato/cream cheese/sprouts on montreal style bagels, fresh, fresh fruit (mangoes! and berries are my favourite) and those little tiny cocktail umbrellas. i don’t like coffee but i drink pumpkin spiced lattes when they’re in season. i love hot chocolate on special occasions (i think second cup makes a pretty decent cup...and actually any chocolate in general). i'm mostly a tea person.

i love curling up and watching horror movies, i like ghost stories, urban legends and spooky things. i love halloween, zombies, vampires and weird alternative explanations for mundane everyday things.

i like tim burton, lewis carroll, edgar allan poe, poppy z. brite, edward gorey, milord pavic and especially neil gaiman. i like comics (although honestly i haven’t bought one in ages, i used to read among others gloomcookie, fables, sandman, kabuki, outlook: grim, house of secrets) and ya novels. i like storylines with strong women and chicks who kick ass. i used to watch buffy religiously.

i love and used to make things with sterling silver and beads. i like swarovski crystals and semi precious gemstones, shiny things, little silver charms…i’m slowly out growing tiaras, but it’s taking a long time. i love glitter.

i love lush products, bubble baths, swimming, the ocean, the beach, coconut, shells, smooth beach pebbles and glass, little vials of beach sand, travelling, postcards from far off locations, snap shots of daily life a world away…i like trying new food from different cultures.

i like office supplies, art supplies and shopping in general. my apartment is way too small to house all of my junk. i collect alice in wonderland stuff and own way too many books.

after years and years of just wearing just black i’ve started to embrace colour. i like black, silver, most blues and purples and darker shades of red. i do fancy a nice pink though not a huge fan of hot pink. i've been told i have funky socks (my favorite are striped in a mix of pinks and purples).

i have a quirky sense of humor and i love to laugh.

i also love "reality" tv! (sad, i know...big brother, hell's kitchen, the hills) but also enjoy heroes, lost, battlestar galactica, dr. who and also house and csi (when i remember when and where they're on...actually there's usually a nightly marathon of csi on a&e and spiketv, i usually have that on in the background when i'm home).

i've tried a bunch of new things since joining swap-bot. recently i've made my first pocket shrine (which is cool because i love, love tiny things) and atcs and am currently working on my first altered domino (still conducting a bunch of experiments...i don't own a lot of rubber stamps so i've been experimenting with different materials). and then after i'm planning on some bottle cap stuff.

i love japanese/handmade paper.

cool rubber stamps, anything alice in wonderland themed, japanese and handmade papers...inkjet shrinky dinks/shrink-its (i can't find the inkjet kind ANYWHERE here :()

oh! and more recently, 4x6 pieces of interesting papers. :D i've been using those lots.

i'm just starting out so i don't have much to swap in the way of supplies but i have some assorted stickers, striped pipe cleaners, loose stationary (including some bits of kawaii stuff from years ago), beads, fun pencils and maybe an envelope or two of assorted scrap pieces from picture books.

and of course can offer handmade stuff like atcs, matchbox shrines, gift tags, cards, buttons...
