My husband and I make up "Blessing Bags" for the homeless. Usually it has non perishable food items in the bag and some personal hygiene.
Our church has a food pantry and gave us this large pack of hot dogs this past week, so my husband cooked the hot dogs up and took them to the men/women on our local streets who are homeless. They were so appreciative, like it was a steak to them. We also got some peanut butter & jelly from the church pantry and I'm making up some PB&J sandwiches today, for my husband to take with him in the morning to pass out.
We enjoy doing this and get such a pleasure and blessing when you see the smile and gratitude on their faces. I'm also collecting gloves and stocking hats to hand out in the colder weather. I think I'll pick up some blankets/throws too.
We can show kindness in just a little way that can mean the world to someone else. I'm thankful that we have the provisions to help others in need.
