Hello! My name is Sherry and I am from California. I am 25 and a junior biology major. I was a double major in art as well. I had to drop it for financial reasons. I figure art is always with me and I can go back for it.

I have been with my boyfriend 8 years. Time has really flown by. He is really awesome. We both enjoy and appreciate art together. He is a photography major.

Science hasn't always come easy for me. I was the kid who made little doll houses out of shoe boxes and gave my mom a drawing every day after work. Art was my loop hole out of my everyday life and still is. I failed math, biology and science in high school. I fell in love with science when I became a Lab technician at a microbiology lab. Never in a million years did I think that I would be where I am today. I have now completed physics, general chem, and pre calculus among biology courses. Art will always be a part of me and I feel its what makes me different from other science students.

In between classes and semesters I paint and draw. I love watercolors because its cheap and I can finish a painting in a day. I also love how it dries on the paper and creates a window of the layers below. I have painted with acrylics but it has been a long time. This year I bought oil paint for a course and figured out that I dont like oil. I guess I need to give it a chance still and practice.

My all time favorite type of artwork is printmaking. I have done, block prints, intaglio prints, acid etchings, and lithographs. I love that I can share a unique hand pulled copy with multiple people. I can also spend a lot of time with one drawing knowing I will get more out of it. However, only block printing is a home friendly method. I do not own a printing press, so I print when I can.

Last but not least is my series. I have been obsessed with old photographs. They are from a forgotten moment. It saddens me that people throw out family photos when they no longer know who is in them. I love to take these photos and turn them into etchings, watercolors, cards, and whatever else. I hope to bring light to a life that no longer is recognized, even if its a simple smile or a touch between people. After 2-3 generations, most of us, our lives, and our actions are forgotten.

Music is wonderful! When I'm creating I listen to Andy Mckee and instrumentals.

likes: I love vintage photographs, and paper goods from all eras. I loove stickers. I also like animals (especially fish, and strange looking creatures). Floral prints and contrasting patterns.

dislikes:Please don't send paper cut outs, confetti, or small paper pieces. I hate opening up mail to discover a mess falling all over. I don't mind glitter (I use it) but contain it please and thank you. I hand draw and paint all of my ATC's. I wont use any pre cut ATC scrap book paper. Last but not least I completely respect everyone religions and beliefs. Its truly awesome. However, I don't go to church and I don't claim religion. I am spiritual in my own way and I like it that way. Please don't send me religious items. I think of god as more of a simple energy. Send nature photos, or animals instead.

I always send out my swaps. I also will let you know if something comes up and I will be late (which has yet to happen). If you message me and let me know before the send date that you will be late, I most likely wont rate you down. I know life comes up. If I don't get anything in the mail I will rate a 1 (which has yet to happen to me personally). If you are participating in my swaps and don't send I will not angel if you haven't rated them a 1.

I have had a case of having to pay the mail man to pick up a swap letter. I have no problem doing so but I will message you and tell you. I wont let it affect your rating because it could happen to me. It hasn't yet but if it does please let me know as well. I can send you some money to cover to charges if this happens.
