Glass winged Butterfly
he average length of a glasswinged butterfly is around 28 to 33 mm, with a wingspan of almost 5.6 to 6.1 cm (2.2 to 2.4 inches).
The veins in the wings of the glasswinged butterfly are translucent, and look like glass. They usually have an outline of black or orange, although the colors may vary. This transparency allows the glass winged to blend in its environment, and go unnoticed, especially while feeding.
As with most butterflies, the glasswinged also looks extremely delicate, but has the ability to carry nearly 40 times its own weight. It is extremely fast, and can fly almost eight miles per hour for short intervals.
The glasswinged butterfly or Greta oto belongs to the Nymphalidae (brush-footed) family, the largest family of butterflies with over 6000 species.
It is a migratory butterfly by nature, and can be found in Central America. Adult butterflies can be spotted from Mexico through Panama, and have been seen in Venezuela in the mountain area located around the City of Caracas. They have also been spotted in Florida.

Bay Checkerspot
Threatened. The species is likely to become endangered in the foreseeable future throughout all or a significant portion of its range, but they are not in danger of extinction right now.
The bay checkerspot is a medium-sized butterfly in the brush-footed butterfly family (Nymphalidae). It has a wing span of little more than 5 cm (about 2 inches). The forewings have black bands along all the veins on the upper surface, contrasting sharply with bright red, yellow and white spots.The caterpillars (larvae) eat dwarf plantain and purple owl's clover. The adults feed on the nectar of their host plant.

Diaethria anna, the Anna's eighty-eight, is a butterfly in wet tropical forests in Middle America. On rare occasions, it can be found as a stray in south Texas. Its upper side is dark brown with a metallic bluish-green band on the forewings. The underside of the forewings are red, which is followed by a wide, black band and then white tips; the underside of the hind wings is white, with lines that approximate a black-outlined "88", giving the species its common name.
The caterpillars feed on tropical plants in the families Ulmaceae and Sapindaceae. Adults feed on rotting fruit and dung.
I love the blue morpho butterfly due to it's pretty blue color.
The morpho butterflies are over 29 accepted species and 147 accepted subspecies of butterflies in the genus Morpho. They are Neotropical butterflies found mostly in South America, Mexico, and Central America. Morphos range in wingspan from the 7.5-cm (3-in) M. rhodopteron to the imposing 20-cm (8-in) sunset morpho, M. hecuba. The name morpho, meaning changed or modified, is also an epithet of Aphrodite and Venus.
Blue morpho may refer to several species of Morpho butterfly, including: Morpho helenor (common blue morpho) Morpho menelaus (Menelaus blue morpho) Morpho peleides (Peleides blue morpho) Morpho rhetenor (Rhetenor blue morpho)
The Blue Morpho is also the name of a character on the animated adventure-comedy series The Venture Bros. He is a parody of the Green Hornet voiced by Paul F. Tompkins.
The owl butterfly is one of the larger ones. It is so unusual due to those big eyes.
The owl butterflies, the genus Caligo, are known for their huge eyespots, which resemble owls' eyes. They are found in the rainforests and secondary forests of Mexico, Central, and South America.
Owl butterflies are very large, 65–200 mm (2.6–7.9 in), and fly only a few meters at a time, so avian predators have little difficulty in following them to their settling place. However, the butterflies preferentially fly in dusk, when few avian predators are around. The Latin name may possibly refer to their active periods; caligo means darkness.
Some owl butterflies form leks in mating behavior.
