About Me

Looking for ways to connect outside my little part of the world. I truly miss good snail-mail. :-) I love to make things & have more hobbies than lifetime: Art, reading, scrapbooking, paper crafting, music, painting, woodworking, clay, metalwork, working with glass, junking, sewing, cooking, gardening, dancing, biking, photography, camping, hiking, calligraphy, crochet, 'altered' objects, and anything else that might be messy or fun! (preferably both)

I collect antique keys & locks, faeries, dolls, herbs, Christmas ornaments & coins...

I like a bit of excitement & am not easily offended(except by rudeness- VERY low tolerance), so I can have fun doing just about anything. :-)

I live in Texas with my husband, 2 teenage sons, a spoiled rotten dog & a tortoise. I love my life right now!

Likes: OWLS OWL OWLS!; colors purple, black, silver, aqua; wine(the drink and the color:-); botanical/earthy themes; vintage/retro/modern- easy to pleasem :); strawberries; craft supplies; stationary; trees; the smell of rain; dragons; unicorns; I LOVE fairies- not 'cute' ones that look like children or cherubs; FABRIC!!; pen pals; reptiles & amphibians, tiny things(bottles, furniture, game pieces, charms); cuttlebug folders/dies; ribbon(I'm a ribbon/fiber/fabric fanatic lol); Leather- preferably old & beat up, like vintage gloves or used journals(scraps at least 2x2in), collage-worthy junk---phew!

Am into beautiful, natural, sinister, botanical, handmade, unique, salvaged, furry, refurbished/recycled, free, textured, homegrown ;), elegant, muddy & dark things.

Imagica, Watchers, Chuck Palaniuk's books, Dark Tower Series, Anne Rice Vamp Chronicles, Pillars of the Earth series, Ender's Game series's, Harry Potter, Twilight, Madeline L'Engle's, Tolkien, Sookie Stackhouse, Black Dagger Brotherhood, herb/gardening books, sewing & craft books, comic books, etc. Most of my books are non- fiction.

Favorite Movies

Oh wow, I am a HUGE movie buff- everything Quentin Tarantino's ever done, Auntie Mame, Amelie, Seven, Lord of the Rings, Superbad, Supertroopers, Braveheart, 300, Gladiator, Batman, Tombstone, Star Wars, Xmen, Kevin Smith, Labyrinth, 5th Element, Die Hards, Friday/Friday after Next, 40'Yr Old Virgin, Twelve Monkeys, Threesome, Fight Club, Snatch, Sin City, Beastmaster, Heidi, Summer Magic...yada yada yada :-)

Favorite Television

Don't have cable & hate commercials, so most of what I watch comes from DVD or Netflix: the Office, Sons of Anarchy, Pawn Stars lol, Southpark, Family Guy, the Simpsons, Sopranos, Futurama, Scrubs, Entourage, Breaking Bad, Southpark, Cleveland Show, American Dad, Oz etc.

Dislikes...

Dislikes: color pink; color gold; clothed animals- real or not; beer; cheesy/cutesie stuff in general; pastel, nautical, or NASCAR-related things, san-x, clothed animals; scrapbook paper that is printed with photos(like real leaves or grass...).

I like cats, but don't really have any use for things with cats on them...

Hello! I recently drank a cup of tea that had a wonderful quote on the tag - it was a Celtic saying - "When God made time, He made enough of it". I love to remind myself of that. I thought of it again when you listed all your hobbies. Sometimes I just want to take a month off from life just to craft and play! There are so many things I want to do and make. I imagine you can understand that! I have a whole collection of socks to make sock monkeys with, and have one finished, except for his face and ears. For some reason I can't get that part finished! Poor, faceless monkey!

Hi super-busy mom, here´s another one, lol, however I am more into baking and probably not as busy as you, gosh you really are into a lot of things, aren´t you? :-) Do you also meet up with others for a "syjunta"? (Swedish word for when you hang out to do sowing crafts together, don´t know an English word for it). We watch a lot of series on DVD´s as well and I can recommend peep show (funny) and flight of the conchords (even funnier). :-D It was nice to read about you, and hope you have a great day! / Chic (we are so differents swap)
