I'm Susan...I am a 41 year old woman, with empty nest syndrome,living in a relatively small town on the east coast of south Florida.I have two daughters (19 & 21) that I adore, who have grown up and struck out on their own to find their places in the world. I have a dog-child, Daisy, who is an American bulldog and I have a handsome husband (last on the list, hmmmm...). I am a certified executive chef and have worked in most every aspect of food service for the last 25 years. Right now, I run the banquet & catering department at a beautiful waterfront resort.

I am active but not athletic. I love going out on our boat,snorkeling, swimming, camping, making stuff, cooking for my friends, eating out, drinking beer and celebrating all holidays. I am lucky to have the greatest friends and neighbors. We all have dogs who hang out together in their pack while we have cocktails or cook out. I love to go up north and ski, although I spend more time on my behind than on my feet. I like the rodeo,sea glass, American dogs (and all dogs) Elvis, books,windchimes, Mexican tin stuff,good bread, opera, orchids, art shows,floppy eared bunnies, good beer, skulls (any pirate stuff and Day of the Dead), sea turtles and any kind of festivals or fairs.I am afraid of clowns, small people, lifelike or old dolls and people on stilts

I love to travel. I have been mostly to the Carribean since it's so close. I totally dig the Yucatan and have been back there several times. I've also done Belize, The Cayman Islands, Jamaica, The Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and the Bahamas (about 15 times...it's only about two hours by boat)We also go to the Keys a lot.I love it there and would move in a minute if it wasn't for being too far from my girls and good friends. I have never been overseas (yet) but I'll get there.

I am an avid reader and will read most anything, magazines, novels, classics, crafting and art books and even historical romance. That's more than you ever wanted to know, I'm sure.

Lastly, I don't have any preferences or special requests for swaps. I think the randomness and trust in leaving all the decisions up to a partner is what is truly cool about swapping for me. I have recently discovered that my CD players and laptop do not like labels on the CDs so if you are sending me a CD, please leave it naked! Thanks!!

I enjoy and appriciate most kinds of music barring rap and modern r&b. I suppose I'm not a big fan of pop either. I go through fazes of what I listen to...classic rock, country, alternative, eighties, opera. Each program button in my truck has a station that plays completely different types of music. My ipod on shuffle makes my huband crazy. He insisted that I create playlists for the sake of his sanity.

This is hard...Slingblade, A Fish Called Wanda, Anchorman, Kung Pow...Enter the Fist, Godfathers 1 & 2, Moonstruck, The Last King, Tombstone, Walk the Line, all three Lord of the Rings (especially 2), Big Daddy, The 40 Year Old Virgin, all the Austin Powers movies...I could go on and on

The Daily Show,Boston Legal, Sarah Silverman Program, Big Love, Rescue Me, The Closer, Friday Night Lights,Medium, The Office, Dirt, Nip Tuck, Rome, Deadwood, Ugly Betty, Gilmore Girls (guilty pleasure)...Lost finally lost me but I still like General Hospital, even after 30 years.

I am very attracted to collage and altered objects. I am learning to sew and I adore fabric. I am also learning to knit and I like the idea of handmade things like afgans, scarfs and baby booties being enjoyed by my family and friends. I like beads and buy them a lot although I never seem to do much (that I like) with them.I'm a very good soapmaker and many people like to trade me things for my soap. I used to do mosiacs but I haven't for a while. I pretty much like it all or will at least try it all!
