Description:

This swap is for 1 postcard to 1 partner incorporating a famous painting.

You may print out the famous painting or use a copy from a book or magazine (or another source). Use the cut and paste theme of collage and mixed media and have fun.

I like naked postcards but if you're concerned about successful delivery, you may send it in an envelope.

This is sender's choice but be careful your partner doesn't have psychological breakdowns at the thought of Van Gogh. Obviously, we don't want to cause that in our partners ...

The pic I included is NOT what I'm sending but it is collage and paint and stamping and like that.

Ooooh, sign me up. This is an awesome swap idea, Angie!

Altering an art postcard would work here too, yes?

I think so. Yes.

Also, no size restrictions on the postcard. 4 x 6 inches, larger or whatever.

I have a question: are we allowed to take a famous painting and chop it up into small pieces and reassemble it as a totally new thing? I mean, so long as we tell our partner on the back of the card, "I made this from Van Gogh's 'Starry Night'" or whatever? Because =evil grin= that is what I'd like to do...

Obvious Woman wishes to point out that she is no longer "melusina" on swap-bot.

Does it have to be the whole famous painting or just a part of it? For example, could I just use the Mona Lisa woman or do I need to use the whole painting?

HI Fi and Wolfeagle. Sorry for the delayed response. This is sender's choice so open to artistic interpretation. So long as you exercise art in the spirit of the cut & paste group, I think it's cool!
