Description:

Wouldn't it be great to send a postcard and see where it had been all around the world? Then get it returned back to you after its adventures were over? Let's do it!

IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST ROUND:

Choose a card. A card that you think people would enjoy seeing (the bigger, the better). Put your name and address on the right hand side of the card. Put the title of the swap (Adventures of the Traveling Postcard) at the top of the left hand side. PUT IT IN AN ENVELOPE and send it off to your partner. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

IF YOU PARTICIPATED IN THE PREVIOUS ROUND(S):

Write your name, username, city, state/country, on the left hand side of the postcard you received in the previous round. Put it in an envelope and send it to your partner!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Twice a month, we will have another round. (Sign up when you receive yours from the previous round, or start another one in rotation!) When the left side of the postcard is filled up with the names and cities of those that have received the postcard, the last person will stamp your actual postcard and send it back to you.
Only join if you are awesome and a non-flaker. Well-established folks ONLY (20 or more Type 2/Type 3 swaps) and I will ban if I feel that you may be a questionable swapper. I want to do my best to ensure that everyone receives their postcard back! So don't join if you don't think you can commit to it for the long haul, K? I will be checking EVERYONE'S profile. Additionally, if you haven't logged in in over a week, I will be forced to ban you, as well. Thanks and happy swapping!
The postcard in the previous round ( the one I received) started in Germany, went to England, then to Arizona in the US, then to me in Colorado! I can't wait for this next round!
bgailk 01/15/2013 #
I haven't received my #3 yet, but believe it is coming from overseas (I'm in the US) so will take longer. I'll sign up for this one as soon as I get the #3.
bgailk 01/15/2013 #
Well, I no sooner speak - and there it is! The #3 arrived today - from Australia - and so I can join #4.
danushaj 01/16/2013 #
Wow, that's nice, mine started here in Australia, then went to the USA and never moved from that person's house...... a bit more than a tad annoyed.
I've never done this before....but it looks like fun! I have a couple of questions though... 1) Since this is my first time, I put MY name/address in the spot that the card is "sent to" and stick it in an envelope and mail it to my partner for this swap...right? 2) When I receive the postcard from my partner, I hold it until another swap is started....then I put my name/etc on the left of pc and put it in an envelope and mail it to my partner....right? 3) How many names/city/states are put on the left of the pc before mailing it off to the person that has their name in the "send to" area of the postcard?
I hope this makes sense to someone who can answer me! I just want to make sure I'm understanding the concept before I join!
Yes, you are right on all accounts :)
You send it back to the person when the left side of the postcard is filled up!
you mention about the post card being bigger, are there bigger size post cards out there? would you suggest people write the name and addresses small to get more names on a card,?
bookworm66 01/20/2013 #
Looking forward to thise. I've been using FBs for years.
AnnieMaxine 01/20/2013 #
There are bigger sized postcards out there, but they are not required. All the postcards that I have received, people have been diligent about writing small. I will add that into the swap info.
this sounds fun :D
When we get the card, should we message the “owner” so they have an interim update of where their card is now (and perhaps where it came from and/or where it’ll be going to)?
Or should it be a surprise that the owner will see when they finally get the card back and read all the city names?
AnnieMaxine 01/21/2013 #
Either was is fine Philip
AnnieMaxine 01/21/2013 #
@danushaj and those who may have encountered the flakers: Please know that I'm doing my best to get all of the postcards back into rotation. I've been emailing, facebooking, and will be sending out letters in the next week or so. I'm working for you, I promise!
bungaalangalang 01/21/2013 #
just a few days before signing deadline, but haven't receive and neither arrive the one I've sent...I've through the 3 before but still feel anxious >_<
AnnieMaxine 01/22/2013 #
You're overseas @bungaalangalang so that may be the issue.
Yay! I received the traveling postcard from @rsilvers all the way from Singapore today! I can join the next round! :)
Thank you, Raven! I loved the stamps you used, and the way you decorated the envelope so nicely with touches of stickers and Washi tape. Beautiful! Thank you also for the tag enclosures. :)
