Mini-Zine Swap #36 - July

Hey guys! What would you think if I made each month's zine swap THEMED? Or would you all rather have it be random like it was for June?

I like the randomness..... but if the themes were quite broad, then that would be ok too!

I like broad themes, with the occasional no theme zine swap... that's just me personally :)

Right now, I am overflowing with ideas, so I don't really need a theme... But I do find them fun! Like "1 word" sort of help. "Summer." "Winter." "Stars." That sort of thing spawns a ton of ideas. :3 I can go either way! If both options were available, like every other month, that would be pretty cool.

Hi there can I ask a few questions?

1. Because we are making 5 zines ( this a first for me) am I right to assume that these will be printed? Perhaps hand written and scanned in etc? and

2. Does the zine have a common thread to it or can each page be random? ... and finally

3. The you tube video made a zine with 8 pages I assume that's a fine amount?

Usually when making zines...

1. you make a "master copy" which is then photocopied (or scanned and printed is fine too) and distributed/traded/swapped, be aware of margins, most printers/photocopiers do not print all the way to the edge. You always keep your "master copy" to make more copies later on if needed.

2. Some zines have a common thread, some are random. It can be a recipe zine, DIY zine, perzine (journal/diary type), art zine.... any theme you like for these swaps. There are other swaps here for zines that are of a specific theme, but this one is up to you.

3. That is a common size, another common size is 1/4 page (cut page in half, then fold in half to create book... you can have 4, 8, 12, 16... pages in this size)
