I am an elementary school paraprofessional where I teach 36 children in 1st through 3rd grade.
I am the mother of 3 girls and a boy ages 13, 15, 16 and 17. Eight years ago we added a Golden Retriever pup to our family and a year later we got a 7 year old Australian Cattle /Lab Retriever. I am half Mexican which is totally fun and awesome! My hispanic friends say that I am a total gringa... but I try! I love learning about the Mexican side of my heritage. I love traveling to Mexico to meet and visit family. I am still learning Spanish. I know enough to hold my own in a conversation, but not enough to read a whole book in Spanish and understand what I just read in depth.
I love touristy postcards. I am not interested in random postcards of cartoons, animals, plants, and objects. I LOVE postcards of cityscapes, landscapes, and architecture. I especially love PCs from Mexico, Europe and outside the USA.
I love art journaling!!! I love to use paint and old ephemera in my mixed media journals.
Junk journaling is my newest endeavor. Those digital printables are all over my computer files at the moment! I love making Zines, but haven't made many in the last few years. I hope to trade them again and see what others do with this amazing art form. I grew up with a librarian as a mother so I feel a little like I have my own little library.
I have a book club that I started with a group of friends from church like 4 years ago. Still going strong and even figured how to do it via ZOOM this last year. I love to curl up with a REAL book.... no digital books for me. I run a couple book clubs and other types of clubs.
My favorite Movies- Pride and Prejudice (BBC version and the Kiera Knightly version) as well as Nacho Libre (Jack Black), Emma (Masterpiece Theatre version with Jonney Lee Miller) and the Harry Potter films.
My favorite TV shows: Miniseries filmed in the U.K. and throughout Europe and those Scandinavian Noir tv series, plus Black Mirror on Netflix. PBS Masterpiece Theater specials. I also watch a lot of shows with subtitles... and now K- Dramas.😍😍😍
I am obsessed with Travelers Notebooks!!! I love my planners B6 size.
I just have to declare my love for alpacas!!! We stumbled across an alpaca farm in rural Oregon one night and spent a day there just watching those beautiful creatures. Now they are my favorite animals on the whole planet.
CITY STREET POSTCARDS-especially small town downtown America or British villages
VINTAGE PC'S
Old ticket stubs, menus, doilies for art journaling
JANE AUSTEN ANYTHING
ANYTHING ENGLISH (as in England)
POSTCARDS FROM OUTSIDE THE USA
ANYTHING DIA DE LOS MUERTOS OR FRIDA KAHLO
Things with gnomes
Dollhouse miniatures
I love anything and all things Mexican because I am half Mexican! The food, the decor, the colors, the music!!!!
I belong to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter DaySaints (Mormon) so I do not drink Tea or Coffee or anything with alcohol. I respect all religions. and do not mind learning of your beliefs if you choose to share them.
I love to do private swaps with well established swappers. I am open to profile surprise related swaps or a specific type of swap. Send me a PM and we can chat!
I always send out my swaps on time. I usually get them out at least a week before the swap closes. There are 3 different days in the month that I go to the post office. So some swaps are ready to be mailed weeks before the swap closes and a few are mailed just a few days before it closes. If you do not receive a swap from me... PLEASE send me a private message and let me know it was not received. I will resend after waiting an appropriate amount of time to ensure the mail is not just taking the long route to you. I ask that you give me a chance to get your package to you before rating a 1 or 3. I never give out 1's or 3's when the swapper truly makes an effort to fix a problem. Anyway... so far things have run super smoothly (and hopefully they continue to do so).

Very cool miniature creation by Elsa Mora! https://elsita.typepad.com/elsita/2007/10/frida-kahlos-st.html
Whoa! The zines! First, this envelope - beautiful! I love every one of these zines. I like the ideas, especially the one of "people get to fill in." I'm going to def make one of those. The sewing one is so pretty! Having Milan Pasta next weekend! Juicy secrets are always fun to read!
So you didn't want anything in return, but since zines are a make and copy thing, any that I make, I will send you a copy. Oh, I'm making a "kinky" one for a swap - let me know if you DON'T want a copy of that. Meantime, for the rest of your life (or mine...depending) you will randomly get a zine from me in the mail on occasion. I'm starting to see how useful they can be, and also how they can be put together in different ways to make different sizes. Thank you so much!
Wishing you a Merry CHRISTmas!
Thank you for the awesome and wonderful and fabulous mail art created by your super kids. I love the house and the mountains, the fabulous tiger cat, alligator, panda, and owl! You are a talented household, clearly! Thanks also for the tags, we'll put them to good use :)
Thanks so much for the zines, Maggie! I really liked getting these three little (completely different) peeks into your life! It's what makes trading zines so awesome! 😊 I especially enjoyed reading about your fairy village. So imaginative! Thanks again for trading with me! Have an awesome holiday weekend! ~ Joy
