Comment: Thank you for the postcard (: I’m glad to hear they will be opening things in Vegas soon. I was just there for my birthday in January. My boyfriend has season tickets for the Raiders so we will be coming to Vegas all the time. Hopefully! With this whole Coronavirus thing no one can really tell.
Comment: This is the weirdest postcard ever, and I love it! It really made my day. Thanks a bunch!
Response: I should have taken a photo of my swaps before I sent them so that I can remember what I pick out for people. I do remember you said you like weird ones and I was dying to get rid of a weird one I had. I just can't remember what it was.😂
Response: I love reading your profile. So many fascinating things you have done in life. Your.website with recipes is very cool. I joined Swap-bot in 2008 and have had an off and on presence here and seen you through the years. We have swapped a few times in the past. It is always nice to see familiar names when I came back after a long break.
Comment: Hi Maggie! I got your postcard today and loved everything about it especially your note that we have a lot in common. If you are interested in doing a private postcard or letter exchange let me know.
Response: When I read your profile I was pleasantly surprised at all that we have in common. I would love to do a letter exchange with you. How would you like to work ir? Make it official with a private swap we sign up for or more casual with some back and forth mail? I am good with whatever you would like!😁
Comment: Thank you for sharing what you’re grateful for! I can understand the importance of having a place of privacy in your home for some time of healthy solitude to recharge! Best regards to you and yours!
Comment: Thank you for sending me the neat Paris/London postcard. I’ve been organizing my apartment too. I honestly am turning into Monica from Friends. I have cleaned soooo much and maybe even over organized if that’s possible lol.
Comment: Thank you for the Lake Tahoe postcard. Would love to go there one day. Looks like a nice place to have a family get away. When we go to or from Portland we stop in Centralia to eat at McMenimin's. Fun place! Thank you!
Comment: Hi Maggie! I LOVE this card and am glad I was worthy to receive. It's very special. It reminds me of Lush bath bombs, so it's almost a 4D experience bc I can smell this pic. :):):) I'd love to see your diorama scenes! I follow a lot of instagram accounts for miniatures. I'm a real novice, but I'm learning. Trying to figure out how to make a tiny circus ferris wheel turn via a switch. It's making me learn about circuits. I got an asian kit to make a bookshop and can't wait to start working on it. I'm going to switch all the book covers to my favorite books. Making tiny books has been fun lately. Thanks for the great card! :):):)
Response: I have given away my dioramas to my relatives who appreciate those kinds of things. I prefer using dollhouse furniture that I can buy and then accessorize with things i make or purchase handmade by others. I know the asian bookshop you are probably talking about. I keep seeing it pop up on ads since I look at so many miniature websites... I would like to buy it as well. For now I will just focus on doing one room scenes. I hope your circus ferris wheel will work out. We will have to keep in touch. I am always on the lookout for other people that love creating things in the small scale.
Comment: Wow, Maggie, the Tahoe postcard is stunning, thank you so much! That sounds like such a fun trip. I regret that even though I grew up in California and Oregon, I never made it to Tahoe. Maybe someday!
Comment: Thank you so much! The postcards are lovely and I have to admit that I didn't realize the Lego neighborhood one was Lego on first look (or second or third). You went above and beyond. Thanks again!
Comment: Number 1 of 3 has just arrived - yay!
Hi Maggie. I received card no. 3 today. I'm looking forward to the other 2.
I've received card no. 2 today of Legoland. My son would LOVE Legoland. He has a fortune's worth of Lego in his bedroom.
Comment: Hello Maggie, thank you very much for your wonderful postcard. It made me very happy. Valley of Fire was our first stop on our trip years ago which started in Las Vegas and lead us through Nevada, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico. I would love to travel there again.
Greetings from Germany,
Comment: I'd love to go to NYC again too, and I have the same memory of the first time I was a tourist there. We took the bus from CT and then took the subway into the city, we were there to see the musical "CATS". Pretty cool! Thank you!
Comment: Oooh, the kitties on the PC are beautiful! I've always loved Siamese and I'd love to have a blue point one day. We always had kitties growing up too, the first one we had was actually named after my dad! Thank you!
Comment: Great PC! We have several areas around here that have an "old-timey" Main Street so we get to experience this all the time! I've only been to Vegas once but loved all the lights and excitement! Thank you!
Comment: Maggie, thanks so much for sharing your mental health struggles in your zines, and I'm so happy to hear you're feeling heard and starting to feel like yourself again! Thanks for hosting this swap! (also I didn't realize you were from Vegas and from basically the same area as I am, what a small world!)
Response: Thanks so much. I loved reading your profile. You are such an interesting person. I love the Uglies series too!!! My husband and I and now our teens are reading or have read them all!
Comment: First, super sorry this took so long - I had my mom bring the mail down to me today. I'm not actually moving until the 26th. Then THANK YOU for the thoughtful, profile-specific postcard. Also, your dare really took me out of my normal. Not because I don't already tell everyone I love them, because I do. At first I was like, wait, there aren't 3 people I love that I don't tell that pretty much daily or at least every time we talk. So instead (background: I have about 150 cousins) I Facebook messaged ALL my cousins that are on there that I don't always talk to (about 75) that I love them. A few responded with "What do you need?" But not totally sarcastically cuz my cousins are awesome and would have given me what I need. But now I'm in a bunch of conversations with cousins I rarely see and so thank you SO MUCH!
Response: Oh my gosh I am so happy that you did the dare!!! I wanted something that would be hard and easy to do in a short amount of time. So awesome!!
Comment: ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! Thank you thank you! This is truly the most beautiful swap I have ever recieved. I hope we are able to do this swap again. So fun!
Thank you again.
Especially the sewn paper clip and bow paper clip. SO ADORABLE!
Response: I am so glad that you liked it. It was really hard for me to assemble. I was trying to stick to a theme... but that is tough! Anyway... glad you liked it!
Comment: Your dare is the first one I've been able to do so far. I clicked on the host of a swap I wanted to join and read her profile, saw that she was involved in several charities, and posted a message on her profile (complete with Pusheen image) to tell her how cool she is. I never would've done all that without the dare! Thanks for challenging me to more random acts of kindness :)
Response: Awesome. This has been something I like to do periodically on people's profiles.
Comment: Thank you for the amazing swap! I loved everything you sent and it was packaged so beautifully :] My first name is actually Margarita, but no one ever calls me that, they only call me Maggie :]
Response: Glad you liked it since it has become my new favorite swap to host. Please join round 3 which will post shortly.
Comment: Thank you so much for your lovely letter and the planner stickers and PCs! I love love love the stickers you included. Are you in many planner groups on Facebook? I wonder whether we are in some of the same groups. :)
Response: Glad you liked them. Well... I am in a lot of the Buy Sell groups. The Reset Girl Happy Place Club. A few Happy Planner Groups. Planner Con groups and a few planner shop groups
Comment: Thank you for going through the trouble of making this kit so profile-based! Might just take it as is for the holidays, together with enough books to read for two weeks (planning to re-read the whole Game of Thrones saga this summer...). Thanks again and have a great summer!
Comment: That's a lot of planning going on. I wish my life were so exciting. :) Thanks for the awesome stickers - I love them! And the magnet bookmark is so cute. I use those all over the place so I love to get more. Thank you so much!!
Comment: Thank you for the great SanFrancisco card. I have never been there but maybe someday. No plans for anything special this summer. It is so hard to plan trips when you have no one to travel with.
Response: I used to think I would love traveling alone.... but I find that with my anxiety I need another person for support. I do love traveling though.
Comment: Holy Mackerel Maggie! Have I hit the Jack-Pot?! This is amazing! I am in love with every piece of stationery you picked for me! Thank you truly, this brought a smile to my face that I cannot wipe off! I cannot wait to use all of these goodies! Yes, I will be subscribing to this company and I'll refer you! Thank you again!
Response: I am so glad you liked it. I love assembling these kind of kits. I plan to host another one of these. I hope you join it too!
Comment: Thanks for the great card! Even though you waited to age 25 to see the Grand Canyon, at least you have seen it! I have not been for over 20 years, so I have not walked on that glass observation deck. Not sure I want to!
Comment: wow...big pages gave you lots of space to add so many details...sounds like you are really loving this new trailer and the adventures that go along with one. I used to own a pop up tent trailer for 10 years...had a blast with that. Sold it after my siblings started buying themselves cottages instead...we used to all go camping together. Thanks for the zine.
PS...got a kick out of the Las Vegas envelope...my tour group and I will be flying into Vegas on April 26 for 2 nights at Ballys, touring the canyon lands in Nevada, Arizona and Utah, then back to Vegas for one night...I am looking forward to all the wild scenery during that week.
Comment: One of my oldest and dearest friends lives in Las Vegas. I don't know if it is completely true, but coming from a Sicilian family I have been there more times than I could count. Have a great 2015!
Comment: Got it mz. Maggie! I've got the perfect word ;) Happiest of holidays to you & yours!
Response: I am loving these swaps!!! It's so much fun to see the collection of pages from each swapper as the zines arrive. Some themes have really been fun... and others have been such a challenge for me.... like the one that I just sent you. ;) See you around. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Thanks for your zine :D I liked the big layout and the pretty washi tape border a lot! It's interesting to read about your life and find out what goes on. I appreciated the pretty handmade envelope too, thank you!
Response: Sorry it took me awhile to thank you for your rating. It has been such a crazy few months!!! I hope you continue to join these swaps! Thanks for the heart!!!
Comment: Thanks for your zine. As a fellow teacher, I found your entries on your job very interesting. Is it a private school? Wish you and your family a Happy Autumn!
Response: I am a part time reading teacher in a public school here in Las Vegas. It's a very fulfilling job, but the co-workers are hard part. Glad you liked it! I hope you join us for the November round.
Comment: Thanks for sharing your month with me! I bought a few of those solar pillow lights and they are excellent for camping and emergencies! We have one in each truck, in our boat and with our camping supplies. We stock up on foods and emergency supplies too, just in case of an earthquake or tsunamis. I don't even want to think about the Ebola virus! So Scary! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry PS: Love the envie!
Response: I'm so glad that it got there!! Glad you liked it. Thanks for the heart!!! This is becoming one of my favorite swaps.
Comment: Thanks, this was lovely and the stamps and other ephemera collage materials were a great idea -- as with all my fun swaps, my daughter ran off with it immediately. I consider this the highest form of praise :)
Response: I was sitting on my studio floor taking chain and the little beads and trying to make a necklace for the tiny zine to go on. It was a lot of fun. Thanks for hosting! Your daughter sounds like my daughter. Actually from what you say on your profile I think our daughters would be friends if we lived by each other. They have similiar interests and personalities. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Thank you for th amazing postcards, I'm glad you didn't want them because I enjoy them especially the glittery one. It was one unlike I've gotten before. The others one were great as well, thanks again!
Response: I hoped you would like them. Thanks for the heart. Welcome to Swap-bot.
Comment: This test was so much fun!!! I am a cliff house fairy with a few cave house fairy traits! It's good to know as I live on a cliff now! LOL These are so fun and I can hardly wait for the next one. I am so afraid that I will be gone during one of the sign ups! I don't want to miss one of them! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: You are awesome! Thanks for joining. I will post another round in a few week. No hurry for me to post a new one. My kids re heading back to school.
Comment: another cool question book...I guess I am a true split personality...once again..evenly divided between cave dweller and villager..! I truly wouldn't mind either...thanks so much..always a fun swap...
Response: You and I must be each other's opposite because I am evenly split between guesthouse and courthouse. Lol. ;) Thanks for the heart.
Comment: what a clever idea! loved this...and I just found out I am half snowcap and half night owl but with a strong influence of the other two! my scores were 3443 ... thanks so much i truly enjoyed reading this..!
Response: hmmm.... very interesting. It looks like you and Sherry (amookislands) may be related somehow as she got the same. I am Mostly Night owl wth a dash of Martin blood. My oldest daughters took the tests and it appears that my oldest is mine and the 2nd child must be from an affair that I had with a Snowcap. ;)
Comment: Thanks so much! I've been wanting to that spray for forever.
Response: I saw that on your wishlist and debated about getting it. I usually never get people the 'practical' item on their wishlist... but the can that the spray came in was soooo cute that I had to order it. I hope it works. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Thank you for the very clever "Which Family" zine that you created and sent me. fyi I belong to the Martin Clan:-) I just thought this was an adorable swap.
thanx for hosting and sending it to me.
Comment: What a thought-provoking zine! Fun Too! I guess I am of mixed parentage: between Night Owl and Snowcap...my naughty sister fairy is of Xoximilco heritage for sure! LOL Always a joy to see your name on these swaps! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Comment: Thank you for the zine. I ended up as a Martin by 2 points! So mixed for me. It was a lot of fun.
Response: I am a night owl and a martin equally which means dad was probably the night owl and mom is the martin. My husband took the test and he was a Martin and my kids each fell under a different fairy group.
Comment: Wheee!!! Another bug!!! My collection is growing! Thanks TONS for choosing a bug for me!!!
Response: I am sooo glad that you liked that bug. I saw those different types and had a hard time picking which one to have sent you, but then I saw this one and almost wanted it for myself. I am so glad that you love it!
Comment: Precious-precious-precious Zine!!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful story with me. And your precious family photo business card. Makes this swap all that more personal. I enjoyed reading your story and am already looking forward to the next round of zine swaps. :-)
Response: You are super sweet. Thank you so much for your kind words. I am having so much fun with these swaps. I have had a few ask that I space them out more.... so I plan to have them every month and a half or two months. I hope you continue to join us. Thanks for the heart!!!
Comment: i love the disney nail decals! they will be perfect for me and dd for our disney trip in september, ty so much for a great swap
Response: I am so glad that you liked them. I have always had ugly nails because I bite them and have as long as I could chew. lol. I have never been able to buy nail decals for myself.... so it was fun to pick those out for you. I really loved the snowman ones. I hope you have fun at DisneyWorld (?) sounds fun!
Comment: 💗Elated. Thank you so much. Words can't begin to express how EXCITED I am. I love it that you sent me everything that I will use and love. Having a box full of nice quality pampered chef, tastefully simple, recipe cards, a slow cooker cookbook and many other fun items MADE MY DAY. I truly cannot thank you enough. One of my favorite swaps ever. I always put a lot of thought into my swaps and I can't tell you how much it means to me to receive such a wonderful "care package". This is a rough month for me. My daughter graduates and leaves for college and my married son is taking his dog. It will be so quiet here. I've been very emotional and I can now stress eat with my slow cooker. 😉 thank you. 💗
Comment: Thanks for the great zine, Maggie! I loved reading how Lucy met Lemmy! I have to make the cake too! When I opened your letter, my husband perked up when he saw the spam card. He had to laugh at that! Thanks again and looking forward to the next one! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: Thanks so much for joining this swap. I got to meet grammag yesterday (a fellow LDS swapper), it was so much fun to know who I was swapping with. She showed me her quote book and I showed her my 3. ;) They aren't at all full yet.... but almost every page as a quote.
Comment: What a wonderful little book! It must be great to have pictures and so much information about your great great grandmother. Thank you so much.
Response: I had so much fun making that zine. I have been giving them to family members so that they can know more about Bodil Margaret. I am already planning on doing one about a different relative. So fun. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thank you for the gorgeous zine with all those excellent quotes in it. I love how you used different fonts and had cute backgrounds. What a beautiful notecard! I recognised who they were straight away. I have a friend who adores Emma Smith. Happy swapping. <3
Comment: This was awesome! I really enjoyed the details you provided & your open heart in sharing your other zine. Thankyou. I also loved the Harry Potter stamps on the envelope 😊
Response: I am glad that you liked the zines that I sent. I don't remember which extra one I sent.... I have about 50 zines that I have created. I am so glad that you liked the Harry Potter stamps. They are really special to me. I want to have all of them, but without having to spend the $20. to buy the set. just to keep it. I have received it a couple times on letters to me.... but I am hoping that more will use them. Glad that you liked them. It means a lot that you appreciated getting them on your envie. Thanks for the great rating!!! Maggie
Comment: Loved the etsy list zine!! Not sure what an easy is exactly ..I see it a lot..very eclectic I must say!!
The recipe hit a sweet spot with me! You are very good at "zine-icity"!! Thanks so much
Comment: Beautiful Zine Maggie! So looking forward to the next one! Thanks for including my fairies in your market place! Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: Thanks for the heart! I am glad that everyone is enjoying this swap so much. I spend hours dreaming up these stories and even when I drive I imagine new adventures. I noticed that I don't mail a zine to you for the next round... so I will try to get one to you anyway. I don't want you to miss out. Then maybe in a later swap if I don't get you as partner you could send me a copy of yours. :)
Comment: Thank you for the fun zine!! I love the cupcake pictures, a perfect addition to the pastry shoppe
Response: Thanks so much and thank the fairies of Whitebeam for attending Market day. Their wands were the talk of the town for weeks. The fairies of Ball's Pyramid do know how to work magic, but the wands were so lovely and mystical that many of them bought one.
Comment: so much information! love the map...a very clear idea of the island and its inhabitants...such a fun swap...p.s. the twins reported great sales and much fun at the fair! thanks so much
Response: Out of all the zines that was my favorite one to create. I had so much fun coming up with each business and info. I appreciate the heart. And I'm so glad that the twins did well at the fair.... the girl with jet black hair still talks about the cute boy who sold her the beautifully carved flute. Fine workmanship!!!
Comment: Love the pages! I am going to have to go look at your website! About the X page...I have always hated the X-mas thing, but this last Christmas I read something in a magazine that explained it, and now I don't feel so bad about it. Great job! I can hardly believe it's doe! Thank you so much for sticking with this series and I hope you like the journal you got out of it. Love ya!
Comment: Thank you for the zines. You put a lot of work into their stories! Thank you for sharing, and hosting, of course! Happy St Patricks Day!
Response: Thanks so much. I am having wayyyyy too much fun with these swaps!!! I keep coming up with new stories all the time. I could probably keep this swap going for a year. It will be sad when it all wraps up.
Comment: very interesting...this is like reading a regular fairy tale book!...such detail in their lives and talents and social interaction...enjoyed the differences of the two clans...thanks so much...looking forward to the next edition of the ball's island fair\ies...
Response: I am having an amazing time with this swap and the little side stories are what I am enjoying most! Such a delight! Thanks for the heart and thanks for joining!
Comment: Thank you for the zine. It is so interesting. I especially like the bit about Night Owl Fairies.
Response: So glad that you like my zine. I really have enjoyed exploring the two different types of fairies on the island. I look forward to developing the characters more deeply. I hope that you continue to join these fairy zine swaps
Comment: Thanks for your extra large mini-zine. :) You've clearly put a lot of thought & work into the story - it will be interesting to see what happens next!
Response: I am so glad that you liked the zine. I can't remember if I sent you the first or second one in the series. I also sent you artiststamps that go along with my latest fairy passion. You should get them today.
Comment: I'm sorry this rating is so late! I lost your email! I love the pages, especially the USA page, of course! And the swap-bot envelope--where did you get it? So cute! I never even thought of testimony for T. You are a good woman. Thanks for sharing!
Comment: Thank you for your awesome zine :D It was really interesting to read about your course and how it's making positive changes. Looking at the sweet family photo you included, OF COURSE you're doing well! I liked the new binding and zine layout too, and all your washi decorating! The bonus zine was a great read too, thanks for including it! I appreciated the Harry Potter stamps you used, awesome :D Thanks again!
Response: As always... I love to swap with you. I have missed swapping with you. It's good to get back in communication with you!
Comment: Maggie, You are so darn right-on-the-target with the snow situation in Maine so your rainy day kit was an awesome idea! I love the Zines you made, they are great and fun. The crafting kits are right up my alley and I haven't seen the movie you enclosed. Thanks so much for the care and thought you put into your package to me. Wishing you a quick end to winter and a beautiful blossoming spring! :o)
Response: So glad that you like what I chose for you. It was a lot of fun to put together.
Comment: just looked up ball's pyramid...how cool...I think it is very interesting how we are drawn to putting our fairy villages so near the salty ocean! maybe we are on to something..! very much enjoyed reading about your fairies...thanks so much!
Response: Yes... that is interesting. I was thinking that more of them would be deep in the woods/forest. So glad that you liked my zine and I am super glad that you joined for round 2.
Comment: loved it. thank you. by far the best zine i have received in ages. i was hooked.....they had a baby with each other??? hmmmmmmm i want the next addition. please :) even if down the line we are not partners....can we still trade? ok. im bugging. anyways, loved your fairy world so far.
Comment: Great pages and I really feel I'm getting to know you quite well!
Response: Beverly, I feel like it's really important that we do these types of swaps because although they are primarily for US they are also something that we can share with our loved ones. I am glad to have some neat smashbooks to leave to my children/grandchildren after I am gone. My health scares have been so often, that I truly don't know how much time I have left on this earth. I have been thinking a lot lately that I want to leave something behind personal for my kids (who are still very young) to be able to remember me and know me better.
Thanks for the heart.
Comment: love the envelope and stamps and the letter has me intrigued! who are these people? are they from a book? did you make it up? please do tell!
Response: Glad that you liked it.. I had so much fun making it up. It all came from my head.... I was basically making it up as I wrote it. I wanted a story that was full of twisted details. Glad that you liked it.
Comment: Thank you for the nice selection of tapes and extras and for the fun mail art envelope! Oh, and I just turned over your swap card. What a lovely picture of your familyI enjoyed everything about this swap!
Comment: I got your card. Help! I'm not quite sure what to do...it looks like I'm supposed to cut something out and fold it, but I only see instructions and nothing big enough to cut or fold. Did I miss something?
Response: In order to make it fit I had to shrink it down. You can copy it and enlargeto assemble.
Comment: I have actually never seen the desert or anything like this in person before, It looks incredible and will definitely make it onto my list of places to visit! :-) Thank you for the card, I love the style of it!
Response: Thanks for the heart. I love those vintage cards.
Comment: Thank you for your sweet Christmas card & wonderful ZINE!
I just sat reading it & was thinking that "this chick got herself together" hotdog! I see that you also had an 16 page zine. It seems like such a simple idea, one you would say, "why didn't I think of that myself?" Great idea.
As for your idea of a planner... most techies today use their telephone, I a just not there yet. I use a calendar page, but after looking at your ideas, I will be elaborating on my own planner. Your zine was very helpful for me.
Snail mail makes the holidays brighter.
A Merry Christmas to you and to your family.
Response: Thanks for the sweet compliments. I tried the whole digital calendar scheduling thing and I didn't like having to open windows and typing in what I wanted. I am a total pencil/pen and paper type of girl. I like to turn pages to see everything going on in my life. And I love to have lots of extra pages for doodling, writing letters and everything else (even extra blank papers for making zines). Thanks for the heart!
Comment: WOW! Great zine! I love it. I currently don't use a planner, but I used to. Your zine made me remember everythng I loved about planners, and made me think about getting back into them. Your zine is so well put together, with interesting, eye-pleasing pages and FULL of great info. Thanks so much!
Comment: It arrived today and is lookin' good! Regarding the 'girl crush' theme, are you just looking for a celeb-type post or does an actual crush we have had on a girl count. The girl crush thing always confuses me a bit, as in does the person have a crush on this girl or just admire her? (And I am totally supportive of whatever :)
Response: The theme is completely open to self interpretation. I plan to do a layout about one of my favorite actresses that I adore- Keira Knightly. My girl crush is that she makes me smile whenever I see her on TV and I think she is gorgeous. You can do it however you wish!
Comment: You actually had me going with the story at first! That was a good idea. Fun stamps, too. Thanks! ADDED LATER: OMG - I forgot to flip the cards over today when I was entering ratings. I saw it at the post office, but must have only looked at the writing side when I did my ratings. I LOVE THAT IT IS A BINGO CARD!!!!!!!
Response: That is funny that you were believing the story. Ha! Glad that it was somewhat realistic. That was the point! I am working on the whole backstory to this 'other place'. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thank you for the zines! I've never played MASH before, so I'll try it with some friends soon. I also love the way you added a cover to your etsy zine. I bet you could make some of the Jane Austen party stuff though if you wanted to have a party :) Maybe with ideas from this blog: http://regencydelight-janeaustenetc.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/a-jane-austen-party.html
Response: Thanks so much for sharing that site! Thanks for the heart!!! Glad you liked my zines!
Comment: Thank you. I love the Abomey creative recycled envie this came in. And I'm too young to remember this mash game from the 70 s or 80s. But I've played similar games with my siblings and friends here in the early 2000s. I guess some games just live on, even if with different names. Thank you!
Comment: Thank you so much for these Zines! I wasn't expecting two! Sorry it took me so long to rate you; I have been travelling a lot before the holidays. Firstly the stamps on the envelope are awesome - I love Ratatouille.
The zine was quite thought provoking. My mum went through some things similar to you. I hope you have a great day and a fantastic new year. xx
Comment: i really liked this swap.. topics i could all relate to. but yours... yours was... well, it made me want to hug you. i, too, struggle with anxiety. you have a different kind of anxiety than i do, but i can assure you that a trusting relationship with a therapist can do wonders. also listening to your body. i was able to learn tools to cope with the anxiety and have been able to get over it without meds. what a ride! i hope you're able to find a happy medium. xx.
Response: Thanks so much for your kind words. Admitting to my mental health issues has been a huge step towards getting better. I hate even saying that I have problems. I am a very proud person and I have a tough time admitting that there is something that I cannot do or an area where I feel like an utter failure. I am fortunate to have a loving supportive family. They make me feel normal and that things will look up. I do see a silver lining and that is enough for me. :) You are a sweetheart! So glad that you joined this swap!
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful wordy tape - that typewriter one has always been one of my favorites; I don't own a roll and it seems to be discontinued now, so that's for including that one. The others are really neat too - only had 1 duplicate in all that you sent!
Response: I'm glad that I hadn't sent you a ton of duplicates. Whew! That was such a fun swap. That typewriter tape is my absolute favorite!!! I use it very sparingly because I can't find another roll of it either!
Comment: thanks for the zine...I sing to myself in the car all the time...but not while stopped at an intersection where people can hear me through the open window!...I have real live friends that have visited me but live in countries like France and Ecuador and the USA, that I write to or skype all the time (most are closer to me that some of my siblings!)
Response: Nice to know that we are all different in our own way.
Comment: Thanks for a fun zine & the cool Czech ad stamp/stickers. Looking forward to learning more about Menaggio in future swaps. :)
Response: Glad you liked it. I am having so muh fun with the planning of my new little world I really want to create a workbook template to share.... but I lost my photoshop elements program that I would normally use to create one. Dang!
Comment: Ok you are weird! LOL Just joking...no really I enjoyed reading your zine. And I think you are more normal than you think are. I also do bulk cooking. I love to cook but just having 2 of us I only cook maybe twice a week. So we will have leftovers:-) Have a great week. blessings, ellie
Response: Ha! Yup! I know I am weird!!! Truly.... I am! I could probably fill another zine with even more weirdness. Thanks for the heart!!!
Comment: + many more hearts! I was very appreciative of not only the work you did on the zine but the creativity you put into it! What an amazing concept--an entire alternate life! I look forward to hearing much more about these life forms and you have inspired me to create my own "little world!"
Response: I am having such an amazing experience creating this "other world". I have spent so many hours literally dreaming about the different parts of it. I love it!!! Thanks for the heart! When I am ready to share the stories of the land of Menaggio I will share them with you. :)
Comment: I enjoyed reading about your futuristic new land, discovered by hot air balloon! I'm looking forward to hearing more about it in your future zines :) The stamp stickes you put in for me are very cool too! Thank you :) (P.S. good luck with selling your zines on etsy!)
Response: Thanks so much Britta! YOu are always so encouraging! Thanks for being my cheerleader! :) It has been fun to see everyone's different takes on the workbook.
Comment: Wow! I really loved reading the story about your ancestors. I think it's super interesting that you are so connected to your ancestry and I found your story to read much like something I would read out of a history book! Thank you so so much! Just curious, why is the LDS so interested in family history? I have used their site before! It would certainly have been cool to see the records in the Mexican church! So cool!
Response: Thanks for the nice response. I will send you a note to answer your question. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Tell your daughter she did a great job! I especially like the family portrait!
Response: I really enjoyed the topics for the last one, I just wish that I had felt better so that I could have done them all by myself. I am feeling really good now.. no more feeling sick! Yay!!! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Hi Maggie, This was a fun zine! I am A mostly with some B. LOL We don't get good reception up here, on Kodiak, for TV, so I only get to see Project Runway on my computer on Fridays. I have seen a lot of ads for Downton Abbey, though. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: That was funny... you are mostly A, I am mostly B, and Yvonne (Wingy) is mostly C. How fun! I hope that sometime you can see the show. It is soooooo good!!!
Comment: love this zine....i didnt get even 1 A.....i got 9 B's and 10 C's....i love the last line in C...so true.... about taking care of aged parents ..thanks for this wonderful zine
Response: Glad that you liked it. I took the test and I was almost all B. I was hardly any A's too. She is kind of a stick in the mud. I totally love these Fill in the Blank zines!!! Its fun to come up with new ideas each round. :)
Comment: Auchie-wa-wa! Expensive purchase! I'll forever be thankful that our big purchases of summer 2005 (the same - refrigerator and washer - both emergency purchases) were only $800 and $350, instead of $2300 and $700! Great pages - and I love little Molly!
Response: We have always had tiny old energy sucking fridges..... and since I have wanted the freezer on the bottom and water in the door.... this was the choice. We have 6 months to get it paid off so..... with my new job that starts in a week I plan to sock my money on that Home Depot credit card.
Comment: that looks like one huge kitchen you have, and one huge counter...so tempting to put things on there I can imagine! looks clean and bright...I'm jealous ha ha as I have a small galley kitchen....
Response: Thanks for the heart. When we were looking for a home we walked through MANY models of homes that were around 2000 square feet. What sold me on this house was the kitchen. The buffet bar was an upgrade, but I saw the option for it and had to have it. We have used this bar for every Thanksgiving meal buffet, every family gathering and party.... oh it is my favorite part of the house!!!
Comment: The PC arrived yesterday. I never thought about the Bougainvillea as it sells here as a tropical plant in expensive nurseries during the summer. I have only seen it purple. I always wanted one but they are expensive. My mother-in-law says they grow like weeds where she lives and why would anyone want a weed growing in their house? I think they are beautiful. Thank you!
Response: Here in Vegas they are rare ornamental flowers. It's pretty hard to get them to grow well here because of the dry climate. I dream of living somewhere more tropical where it will grown easily. Thanks for joining this swap!!!
Comment: Thank you for the awesome book :-) I hope you didn't think mine was too boring. I enjoyed reading it very much and seeing all the nick-nacks enclosed. I'll be looking through it several times more and discover all you did. Thank you for doing this swap with me, and it has given me plenty of inspiration for a future swap :-)
Response: I am so glad that you liked it. I actually felt that I had to step up my game after seeing your awesome book. I just have a different style than you. They are equally good!!!! Thanks so much for doing this swap! I hope that you don't think I have too crazy of a life. :)
Comment: Thanks so much for the cable car PC with all the fun facts about the system! Wow, 40 cars at 6 tons each at 9.5 mph, carrying 60 people each. The family math possibilities are exciting :) My son loved it so much that he bit into it, which shows that he has good taste!
Response: I am so happy that you liked the postcard. I had a tough time deciding which bus or train to send. Then I thought it would be fun to do a different take on your theme. I hope you sign up for round 1 with a new theme.
Comment: (Looks like i had written this a while ago but didn't put in the rating. Sorry about that) As always, thanks for the smart and creative zine. You're so good at thinking ahead and making it a fully developed and smart zine. I love reading them!
Response: Thanks for the nice review! I love your zines too! So glad that you are in this zine community! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Beautiful message :) Thank you so much for the quotes! And many thanks for hosting such a fantastic series of swaps. I missed the first round, but I am really enjoying this. It is something I will be able to use, cherish, and share with others for years.
Response: I am having so much fun seeing the quotes I get and then getting to decide where to put them in my book and gluing them in. It's so much fun to take it to church and read during passing time.
Comment: Thank you for your zine...I like the classic building on the post card.
Response: Thanks so much! Thanks for you sweet note. I am doing better than I have been.... but I'm playing catch up now that my kiddos are gone during the day to school. Things really got behind for the last 8 months.
Comment: i was the 1st person in her zine..so i dont know if i should trade it or add to it..... thanks for the extra zine of yours and the paper treasures :)
Response: Hmmm.... I don't know what to tell you. The zine that I received was from the gal who created it so she didn't do a new layout in it and instead just sent me one of her zines plus some paper stuff with the zine. That was fine with me.
Comment: I loved your zine! Sounds like there are some interesting stories behind your insights! :)
Response: Ummm.... yeah.... I have had a good life.... but some bad moments here and there. Regarding my stroke, my baby almost dying in the car, my dad who was a molestor and other sad or hard things.
Comment: Two super zines! Such fun reading these! Why? "JUST BECAUSE!" So very cute.... Love the creative humor...of both .. Uh oh... I feel A "lazy day"coming on.... Kicking off shoes and leaning back ... Thanks very much!!
Response: Thanks for the sweet comments and the heart!!!
Comment: Yikes! You did a great job re-organizing your closet. I had a room like that too, but you have more courage than me to post a picture of yours on this swap. Kudos! Thanx for sharing with me in this swap. blessings, ellie
Response: You are so sweet. Thanks for joining this swap.
Comment: OHMYGOODNESS where is the 10 heart option?!? I LOVED everything you sent me! What an awesome swap!!! I loved opening the package with the ribbon & I've had my eye on ALL THOSE OFFICE SUPPLIES from Target for a while now! THANK YOU OH SO MUCH!
Response: I am so happy that you liked my package! I had a lot of fun choosing things that I hoped you would like. Thanks for the heart. If you ever want to do a private swap in the future..... send me a note. :) I would love to again.
Comment: Thank you so much for the detailed 'zine and the amazing smash book! I've wanted to try this myself, and you've provided great tips! You're family is adorable (contact card)! Have a sweet day. (｡◕‿‿◕｡)
Response: I am so happy that you got it and that you like it! I had a blast putting them together and that zine was a challenge for me so I am glad that you find it helpful. Thanks for the heart! And thanks for your nice comments about my family!
Comment: Got the cupcake sprinkles today and I LOVE them!!!! They are packaged really cute, by the way, and they will come in so handy when I make my next batch of cupcakes~ Possible for some of "my" Bake-A-Wish kiddos! Thanks~~~~~~
Response: Holy Cow! That was fast!!! I got the impression that it would take weeks to get there!!! So happy you got it quickly! Thanks for the heart! My 9 year old daughter (as a reward for doing well in school this next month) is earning Wilton cake decorating classes. She already is asking for sprinkles and things for Christmas. Good to know that the company has quality products. Those sprinkles were such pretty colors!!!
Comment: These are some gorgeous pages! And that road trip sounds like it was a blast!
Response: You are soooo sweet!!!!! This swap series (even though I am the one who came up with it) has been really challenging for me. I have a hard time getting motivated to do it!!! Luckily once I start it I just keep going and have fun doing it! The topics this time luckily weren't too difficult.... I already knew exactly what I wanted to do.
Comment: Maggie, you went above and BEYOND on this swap. I can't believe you made smash books for both of us! I had actually thought that your package was going to be some label stickers I had just ordered, but boy-oh-boy was I wrong. The effort you put into this swap clearly shows, I wish I could give you more hearts! <3 <3
Response: I am so happy that you enjoyed the smashbook and zine. I had a lot of fun creating it. It took much longer to make than I had anticipated, but.... it was worth it as I have been excitedly waiting to hear from each of you if you liked it. Have you Smashbooked before? If not, it is sooo much fun!
Comment: I love how you did your map page! Thanks for sharing.
Response: Thanks so much! I really wanted to fit complete maps of our roadtrip... but when you only have a little bit of space.. you have to prioritize don't you? Thanks so much! It was such an amazing roadtrip! We are so ready to do more each summer. Thanks for joining this swap. I hope your book is looking lovely!
Comment: I know exactly what you mean when youtalk about how intimidating it is to start, but fantastic once you do! The glimpse of another's life thing, I love that too. There's a bit in my zine that I think you will really get (it's related). Glad you like quarter-size! One is coming your way. :)
Response: Ahhh.... you are a sweetheart! I can't wait to see yours!!! I really enjoyed making this one!
Comment: You have done an amazing job. I wish I could draw. My beverage of choice is Diet Pepsi and I too need my daily fix:):). Looking forward to seeing other pages.
Response: You are so sweet... especially considering I really haven't ever drawn before with watercolors. I am NOT talented at all in the artist department. I chose this medium because I had some pencils that were new and sharpened and looked so nice I had to use them!!! Thanks so much!!!! Maggie
Comment: These are great pages! Sorry - I don't have internet access when I'm not at the university and I was off from Wednesday evening until this morning - so I didn't get you pages until today. Thanks!
Response: No worries! I love how my summer smashbook is turning out! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thank you so much for the awesome package! I love everything!!! I really like how you sent the washi tape, it's very clever! :D I had an awesome time with this swap, thank you for hosting!
Response: I am glad that you liked the package. I have participated in washi tape swaps before and that is how I send out my samples. I want to do another of these kit swaps.... but I will wait a few months. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: I got your Zines today...yay!! I love them all so much! I think you need to tuck "Dear Husband" into his suitcase the next time he goes out of town on business! Thank you so much, I love them all! Sending you a PM too. :-)
Response: Thanks for the nice comments and the heart! I hope to see you in more swaps. I doubt I will let my husband ever read that zine.... I would be really embarrassing.
Comment: Maggie, I loved both of these zines! I am crazy for washi tape and the "Dear Husband" zine was very touching. I totally connected with the sentiment you expressed... so great job (as usual) on both! Thanks so much for hosting our swap! :)
Response: Thanks for doing this private swap with me!!! It was lots of fun to trade with you!!! Thanks for the heart!!!
Comment: Thanks for the nice Kit - we liked your zine with the stamps best. Although we thought it was funny the you only used GDR-Stamps for the german part :o)
Response: thanks for the heart! I used the stamps that I had on hand. I bought that stamp collection in the 1980's and finally got around to opening the bag up. I knew the stamps were German, but I had no idea when they date back to and I didn't know if they were for East or West Germany. I just used the stamps that I had on hand. Thanks for letting me know since I still have sooooooo many of them!!!! I had a great time making that kit for you! I did it with lots of love and friendship! :)
Comment: Loved your pages. I'm amazed that you have already figured out your A to Z topics! Good job.
Response: Thanks for the heart. I spent the last few days with my mother (an artist) and being around her always is very inspiring and I spend a lot of quiet time reflecting.... so it was just natural that I include my list like a table of contents on the back cover.
Comment: I love the idea of making a Zine out of your journal. The water colour effect is amazing. I love the list of letters that you are going to use to talk about yourself. What an amazing book!!! I can not wait to see more:)
Response: I am having so much fun making watercolor art. I'm not a very good artist, but I don't care! I'm having so much Fun!!! Thanks for the heart!!!
Comment: I love washi tape too! Have been buying it on e-Bay now that I learned about it thanks to swapbot!
Thank you for the extra zine too. I love mini zines!
Response: I am soooooo addicted to Washi tape... as you probably noticed!!! I have 39 rolls of it now since I have joined many Etsy swaps and have had many people send them to me! Thanks for the heart!!! I am such a zine addict too!!!
Comment: love love love it...thanks....and thanks for the extra zines also.... love the washi.... favorite pickup line:Parking ticket...lolol love it....thanks buddy
Response: I am glad you liked my zine. I went through hundreds of pick up lines.... and so many were sexual (and since Joy said to keep them PG) I had a hard time finding fairly appropriate ones. I do think I will celebrate next year with volume 2. Thanks so much for the heart.
Comment: What a great zine. I will definitely try the recopies...but what is shoepeg corn?. In the UK picnics are usually only possible in the late spring ( if you don;t mind chilly with sunshine ) through to early autumn! I also loved the paper you wrote on - gorgeous colour and texture.
Response: Shoepeg corn is a small white corn. It's extra sweet. I think you could use any canned corn (drained) with this recipe. I haven't tried any other, but I bet that you could. The sandwich is my favorite!
Comment: wow...you have a ton of space for your self...I have my crafting in my laundry room...everything looks so welcoming now.
Response: Thanks so much!!! I finished this room yesterday at lunchtime and have hardly left the room since. My kids have each taken turns joining me to chat or they do their stuff and I do mine. When I woke up this morning my husband was sitting in the banana chair talking to his mother on the phone- in my studio! The room that he has been teasing me about forever!!!!
Comment: Great zine, Maggie! You always come up with such original ideas! Some of these lines are SO cheesy! I wonder if they're ever used successfully! And thanks for the extra!! :) Hugs!
Response: So glad that you liked it. I found a website with HUNDREDS of picuplines.... the problem was that more than half of them were either nasty or much lamer.... I think I will do a #2 of this same topic next year to celebrate this very important day. :) Thanks for the heart!!!
Comment: Thank you so much for the zine and the RAK!!!! I about burst into tears from your great kindness. It's been a tough day and it pulling your package out of the mail and then getting to sort through it all and explore everything just made the sun shine a little brighter (without melting me to the chair)! I wish I could give you a billion hearts!!!
Response: You are very welcome. When I read your profile and saw some of the things you liked I knew I had more than I needed for myself so I wanted to share. You being so happy with the package has made my day! I really needed that pick me up as well, thank you!!!!
Comment: Wow! I love everything you sent - and there was a lot of it to love! Thank you so much for all your thoughtfulness and effort you put into it :) I will PM you more but this could turn into a very long comment otherwise! So for now - thank you! <3
Comment: I love your zines! Especially this one. Thanks for sending, and I absolutely loved reading it. I laughed out loud at your epitaph.
Response: Glad that you liked it! I love those fill in the blank ones. That's why I am hosting a fill in the blank type of zine swap in a few weeks. I hope you join! Zines are so addicting. Lately I have been creating a new zine about every other week whether or not it's for a swap. :) Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Loved this zine! Not only a great recipe and information, but I loved the new idea you had for your cover! I never even thought about doing that! So cool! :)
Response: oh my! So glad you liked it! I actually made the cover small purely by accident because I cut my patterned paper the wrong size. But I ended up liking the end result so I just kept it. I am glad you liked it. It is truly a delicious dish!
Comment: Totally awesome zine! Worth 5 hearts. Thank you for enclosing the extras - bigger zines. I've never seen those before. Now I know what the difference between zine and mini zine is. ^.^
Stay strong and keep on keeping on. ♥
Response: Thanks so much!!! I am glad that you liked them. I think I am more addicted to making the larger sized zine because then it fits more information/text. Thanks for the encouragement. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thanks so much for both zines! I think you did a great job in stepping out of your zine comfort zone! :) And that's difficult subject matter to share, so, really well done.
Response: Thanks for the encouragement. I don't know if I will ever do a zine that is NOT my style again since I am not an artist. I had wanted to share my recent struggles with anxiety for a few months now, I just wasn't sure how to tackle it. Thanks for the encouragement. Thank you for the heart and thanks a bunch of being so supportive of me as a hostess!!!!
Comment: Wow! I loved your zine and the corresponding notecards. I'm a big stamp collector (the vintage store down the street sells them for a penny each and you composed the cards so beautifully, it'll be hard to give them away!
Response: It makes me so happy that you liked them! I loved making that zine and the cards.
Comment: Your "Summer Maggie" page blows my mind! I never would've thought of using words to make up the picture and the amount of time it must have taken is mind-boggling. Thanks for sharing, and sorry for the late rating!
Response: Oh... you are so sweet! Ummm... yeah... it did take awhile to draw my face that way, but it was worth the effort because I love the end result. Thanks so much for your kind words and the heart!
Comment: Thank you for sending me 4(!) random zines! My little zine collection is growing very quickly now! <3
Response: Yay glad you got them! I just started making zines beginning of this year and have joined almost every zine swap so my collection has already grown to over 50 zines!!! I LOVE zines of all kinds!!!! I hope you continue to join the zine swaps!!!!
Comment: NIce cover and cute pages. I especially like the summer Maggie. My eyes aren't good enough to read what you wrote, but I really like that idea. Thanks for hosting again, and for sharing with us.
Response: So glad to see you again in a swap! I have had a rough month dealing with my panic attacks. As an LDS woman it's hard to escape the pressure to be perfect- perfect family, perfect home, perfect mom, perfect wife, perfect EVERYTHNG.
Comment: Thank you very much for the lovely deco tape you picked out for me! Seems like I hit the deco tape lotto this weekend with all my Etsy Favorites swaps and I love it!! Can't wait to put them all to use!!
Response: So glad that you liked it. I have that exact tape and have love using it on my mail. I am glad that you liked it.
Comment: love love love this cream cheese zine...love how you used deco/washi tape.... i might have to borrow that idea for some of my future zines :) (love the pic/card of your family) have a blessed weekend
Response: Glad you got it and really glad that you liked it. I am glad that finally you have received a few of my zines. I have so many more that you have never seen. We will have to do some more swapping!
Comment: YEAH finally a zine from you... love it...what an awesome zine.... you outdid yourself... i hope you sell it on etsy or somewhere :)
Response: That is totally funny that this is your first zine from me since I have at least 4 or 5 from you. I am glad that we finally were partners!!!! I won't be selling it on Etsy... but I will be creating the summer edition in a month or two. It was one of the most fun zines that I have ever created! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thank you! It was a great zine about zines for my first zine swap lol. Seriously, it was really helpful for me :) Great work!
Response: I am so glad that you liked it! I was thinking that since you were new to zines it would give you some basic zine info. Thanks for joining the swap! I hope you join more! You made a very nice zine.
Comment: Thank you for reminding me how much I love Aesop's Fables! I hadn't heard that one before, but your beautifully designed minizine told it well :) Thanks also for the Easter Bunny zine, it was new to me and I thought it was really sweet :)
Response: I am glad you like my zines I was so happy when I found that fable.... so fun! Thanks again!
Comment: Thanks for the great zine! I can't wait to try your recipes!!:) They sound so good!! Thanks for putting together the swap, I got to try to find some other zines of mine so we can do another trade soon, I'll let ya know. Thanks again!
Response: Thanks a bunch for doing the swap with me! Glad you liked it! Yes... we will have to swap some more. Let me know when you find some zines to trade.
Comment: I just love the beautiful washi tape you sent. I let my grandaughter open my swap packages and the minute she saw the tape she said, Grandma let's make a card with this for my mommy and daddy. That we did and she happily presented it to her parents when they came to pick her up. Thank you so much!!
Response: oh good! So glad you liked it. I own a lot of Washi tape, but the pattern that I sent you is one that I don't have and one that I wish I had in my own collection.
Comment: Great zine on Mexican food (which I love)!! And the business card of your family is precious! Thanks! :)
Response: I am a Mexican food lover too! I have more recipes to share in future zines. I am loving these food swaps and hope that you will join the food ingredient round coming up quickly. Thanks so much for the heart and the nice words about my family. :)
Comment: Thanks for organizing this swap, and thanks for the zine! I can't wait to try the recipes!
Response: My personal favorite is the rice. Thanks for the heart! Thank you so much for joining this swap! I love food zines so much!!! I hope you are joining the next series which is a zine about a food ingredient!
Comment: omg i looovvveee this zine... you should see it ;) thank you partner for picking this one
Response: So glad that it was as good as it sounded. I may be buying one for myself as well! I actually loved your zines so much that I sent each of the sellers a note telling them what a great job they did on creating them.
Comment: Thanks for the cool minizine! I love the idea, and the title you gave it :) Not sure I'm brave enough to fill it in yet :P My postal system handled it badly and it arrived in one of their bags saying 'sorry it's damaged', the envelope was open on three sides but I think it still had all it's contents: your lovely card letter, your minizine and a blank one. All alright? P.S. I think your self portrait is sweet :)
Response: Yes.... you did receive everything I sent. Oh my gosh.... do you think the postal people would have seen the naked sketch?!? Glad it arrived.... even if it barely made it!
Comment: I loved the page of your husband and the fact that you wrote him love letters. That's so sweet! The pages about your health team are a very unique look at a team. I hope you are receiving the best care possible and are getting healthier every day. Thanks for sharing!
Response: Thanks so much for the heart. I feel so grateful that I have been able to get the medical care needed to get better. I am doing so much better than I was just a month ago!! The miracles of modern medicine!
Comment: Thank you for the postcard. It slipped through the postal system on your 32 cent stamp. Postcard are 33 cents to send in the USA. Just a note for future so some hawk eye postal clerk doesn't catch it and dead letter file it. :)
Response: oh my gosh! Thanks so much for reminding me! I normally remember that, but I totally spaced it that day! Thanks so much!
Comment: Thank you for your generous assortment of postcards, and of course the very creative envelope. I've never received a paper bag envie! Sometimes I also get backlogged on my correspondence, but catching up is an enjoyable pastime, no?
Response: Whenever I go through a drive thru I save the bag to use in my mail. Glad you got everything. Best wishes. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Thanks for the postcard Maggie! Battle Creek seems like a great city to live in. Makes me want to live in a city sometime in the future. :) Your 'road trip across the USA' wish sounds really lovely! Thanks!
Response: I sure hope to road trip before I am an old lady. ;) I want to take my kids with me and let them see all that the USA has to offer. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Loved your collection of picnic recipes! Very cute zine! Thank you for sharing it and hosting these swaps! :)
Response: I had so much fun creating that zine! I love hosting these swaps... and wish that I could host more of them at once... but I know that I can't overwhelm the site with zine swaps! ;) I am so glad that you have been joining these swaps. Thanks for the heart. By the way... the recipe for the chicken salad is really yummy.
Comment: LOVE LOVE LOVE mad libs Zine! Ever since I've been a kid!!! I'm still a kid....
Response: I had such a blast creating the mad lib zine. Back in the 80's my mom bought me a few zines to do on road trips through boring central Nevada. I could spend hours on them. I am planning on creating a series of them with different quirky stories in each. You are the only person who has seen that zine, so it's great to know that it got your approval! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: I hope you get to do a cool road trip like that. I've done Seattle to Portland to San Francisco. Nothing towards the east coast though. If it ever happens, please keep me in your traveling thoughts and send me a postcard on your state stops :)
Response: Thanks for the heart! I don't know when I will be able to do a road trip like that... it will probably be when the kids are teenagers. I am sure that it would be more like the National Lampoon Family Vacation.
Comment: I really loved the zine, the story was so fun to read! thanks so much!
Response: I wrote it and then read it to my 7, 8, and 9 year old the night before Easter. They totally believed it! Funny. It was so much fun to make. I created a different Spring zine too. Mine was about picknicking here in Southern Nevada with some recipes. Thanks for the heart!
Comment: thanks for the zine! you should totally make more, even if you don't, ah, deliver them... they make for interesting zines to read at least ! and who knows, you might find someone who needs to hear those exact words-- it's always great to know if someone is in your position ;) my boyfriend stopped giving me flowers after i told him if he was going to give me flowers they should be fake so they'll last forever. now i wish i hadn't!
Response: So glad that you liked my zine. I see that you can totally relate! Thanks so much for the heart. I am already working on writing the next letter. I married a great guy, but like all couples we have our 'issues'.
Comment: Thank you for the variety of cards and the bday card you've sent me. Take care :-) My letter is on it's way to you
Response: We just returned from our vacation to California and I got your letter from my mailbox tonight. I love the card! Thanks so much! Don't worry about me. We can still continue to do swaps. Let's wait a few weeks and then we can do another one. I am mailing you a postcard that I got on my trip.
Comment: Hi Maggie! Thank you for your amazing letter and very cute zine. What a nice surprise! Don't worry, I could read it but it takes a bit of getting used to :) I will write to you soon.
Response: That letter was so much harder to write than I thought it would be!!!! I don't know how you were able to read it!!! I'm glad you were able to figure out some of what I said. I am glad you liked me zine. I am such a zine addict... I love to collect them and make them too!!!! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Interesting list! I'm not a Mitt Romney fan, but I find everyone else here interesting (Who couldn't love Aretha Franklin & Daniel Craig's eyes?) Thank you!
Response: I had a lot of fun putting this together. I purposely added Mitt Romney to be in my March birthdays so that it wouldn't just be a collection of people I like.... I don't like the guy either. I actually am one of the few Mormons who voted for (and helped campaign for) President Obama.
Comment: Maggie - what a fun idea for a zine. I really like the way you had a patterned paper as a background, think I'll try that for one of my future zines (unless you mind!). The "Polaroid" joke is a riot!
Response: I am so glad that you liked my zine! It was a lot of fun to create! I actually got the patterned paper idea from zines on Etsy.com. I have so much scrapbook paper that I haven't been able to use and now I am finding a way to use it! Yay!!! I had so much fun collecting the winter jokes. yea... the polaroid joke made me laugh too!
Comment: Love you journal/smashbook! So awesome! You're an incredible person, I really enjoyed getting to kos you, your family and seeing your crafts. I really loved this swap I hope we can do it again sometime :)
Response: I was hoping you would like it. I loved yours so much and wanted mine to be as a good of quality as yours. Thanks a bunch.
Comment: What a wonderful job you did stamping the airmail pattern on the envelope that you created & decorated for me! It is beautiful and I love the vintage look postcards and mail stickers that you included inside. Thank you SO much!
Glad to hear that you enjoyed receiving my envelope, too.
Response: I am so happy that liked my envelope. It was fun to decorate and I wanted to send you a good one since you sent me such a good one.
Comment: Thank you so much for the PC's and stickers. It's awesome that you added those stickers because earlier today I was on their site trying to buy some and they are currently out :( I will be hosting another one probably in a week or two, so I'll message you when it's up :) Take care!
Response: I had so much fun making that envelope... though it was really tricky making the fake red and blue lines on the edges. I had to carve my own stamp and try to ink every other one the correct color!!! Glad to know that you will be hosting this again!
Comment: I loved LOST! LOL, I've seen that view many times on the show.
Response: It was totally the best part of the whole trip. When we stepped onto the beach where the plane crashed... oh my... my heart was racing! And also the location where the 'Others' lived... their town is still there... it's actually a YMCA camp that is in constant use. And the waterfall where Jack and Kate dive into the water and see the body at the bottom still strapped in the airline seat..... oh... and where the Australian shots were filmed and the Japanese temple and water gardens where Jin and Sun have some encounters. Oh my... I could go on forever!!!! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: I love this card! I am a big HP fan, although in recent years, I've fallen off of the wagon. It was read to me in elementary school. We all always looked forward to it. The books just have that way with people :) Thank you so much!
Response: Glad you liked it.... I love how in the last HP book Malfoy actually shows that he doesn't always prefer evil. Thanks for joining the swap. I am really loving getting pc's that tell a story.
Comment: This was an awesome pkg! The cards, everything...perfect! Luv the cute pattern. I'm going to make a few aprons from it for a craft show this month... thx again =)
Response: I am so glad that you liked it. It was not an easy one to assemble. You would think that vintage apron is an easy one, but it had me kind of stumped. Thank goodness for Joanne's and Etsy. I am so hsppy that you liked I!
Comment: youre postcard made me giggle and I needed that today. thank you for giving me your secret... some people could only wish to be in you shoes :)
Response: I totally debated about sharing that secret.... especially in case someone's children are around when the mail comes. I am glad that you liked it. It's a secret that I keep very private. My friends complain all the time about their husbands and you know what... so.... I just sit there quiet not wanting them to know that I totally empathize with the men. ;) Thanks for the heart!!!! F.Y.I... I am creating a mini book collaborative Postsecret book. If you are at all interested in participating I can send you a message with some information. I have 6 participants. We will be sharing a secret from our 'teen years'.
Thanks again for the heart!
Comment: Thank you for everything, Maggie! I really liked all your minizines, they all have something special about them. I'd love to visit America at some point and it's interesting to see another side to Las Vegas! I also appreciated the cool handmade map envelope, I'm going to have to start collecting old maps now! Thanks :)
Response: Thanks for the swap! If I had known you were such a great artist I would have been hesitant to send you my Las Vegas zine... due to my horrible artistic skills!! Thanks for the heart you are so kind!
Comment: The most awesome mini zine I have seen! Thank you for sharing your zine. I love it! :-)
Response: Wow! That is the best compliment ever! I have only ever made a couple before so I am a total newbie!! Thanks for the reassurance! I am always up for private swaps as well! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Hi Maggie! I received my SWEET little PuchiMo kitty envies today! Thank you SO much! I think I even have the stationery that matches those envies! I just love them.
Response: Can I tell you a funny story? Just before assigning parters I was checking to make sure that everyone had enough items in their Etsy wishlist to pick from. I looked at your Etsy faves and saw the PuchiMo shop and saw that it is a local Las Vegas business. I went to that shop and added a few of their items to my favorites. Then I assigned partners and since you were my partner I went shopping for you. I thought those envelopes were so cute and so I bought them for you. Two days ago a package arrived in the mail from that same shop. I freaked out (before opening it) and thought they had accidently sent your surprise to ME! I got in my house and tore the package open and just started laughing... my partner ordered me a similar set of envelopes except they had cute pink and brown airmail stripes and said "Air Mail Par Avion" on them. I saw that we both ordered the envelopes the same day and told the shop gal to make a notation about the swap name. She must have thought it was funny to get requests for same items (more or less) on the same day to different places and people. lol.
Thanks so much for the the envies!!! Thanks a bunch for the heart!!!
Comment: Thank you for the card. It was really funny: when I saw it in the mail box I immediately thought 'who is sending me such a dumb card?', and then I looked at the back and saw it was for the Soooo boring PC swap, hahaha. I had a good laugh about it. So you did very well ;). Was the Finding Nemo stamp a real stamp or a sticker?
Response: Those stamps are part of the USPS Disney series. Glad you liked my boring postcard.lol
Comment: Absolutely love your pages! Beautiful family :)
Response: Thanks so much! It took a little bit to get into this swap since the last time I did one.. it put me in a stroke the next morning.lol. ;) I love these swaps and my K and Co book is about half full now... but the pages are already bulging!!! I totally love it! Thanks for sticking with us!!!
Response: Thanks so much for the heart and sweet words. I have had so much doctor stuff to take care of since I last got out of the hospital I was in a rush last night to finish the pages. Last time I rushed to get my pages done I ended up with a stroke. lol. I am just glad that they turned out well. I love these swaps so much! You have been a sweet friend to me and I appreciate it!
Comment: This is a really ,really neat mini zine. I was trying to figure out what Washi tape was, because I've seen it everywhere, but it's hard to find without going to a specialty stationary store here. I love seeing envelopes come with washi tape on them, but I didn't really know what it was, or where to get it online until I read your mini zine. Thanks :)
Response: I AM thrilled that you like it! Since its one of the first I have ever made. I love hosting these swaps and participating in them to! Thanks for the good rating!
Comment: These zines were great! You should get into the zine groups too. Also, I found a couple more zines, that I can make copies of for you, after I get back from my trip to MT. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: I would love to see them. Thanks for the heart.
Response: Thanks so much! I do know one thing... if I hadn't stayed up till after midnight working on them the night before my medical crap happened... I may not have had as severe of a warning about an impending full blown stroke. I wonder if it actually saved my life working late into the night on these pages?!?
Response: Glad you liked it! I usually order my partner's gift as soon as I assign partners. When i went to your wishlist I saw that there were very few items in that price range. I plan to do this swap again soon. Hope you join us again!
Comment: Never heard of a freezer meal group. Sounds like a great idea. Thanks for the PC.
Response: Thanks for the heart. Our meal group is a group of 4women who pick 4 different meals and then buy ingredients and prep each one. We come together with our 4 meals that we made 4 times each and swap with everyone. So I take home 16 meals for my freezer every 6 weeks or so. I have been doing this for 4 years. My blog all about it is www.freezermealsforus.blogspot.com
Comment: Thanks for the great cards! What an adorable kids on the little card!!
Response: Are you meaing... the kids on my personal address card? Sometimes I forget to include my card with my swaps. Thank you if you were talking about my kids... and if you weren't... thanks for liking the cards I did send. And thanks for the heart. Maggie
Comment: Hi! Thanks for the lovely pc and for sharing where you got it! Sounds like an interesting trip and at least you found pcs - yipppeee! LOL! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE HEART! My husband rolls his eyes whenever we go on a trip and are anywhere near a postcard display .... he knows that I will be spending at least $5. buying postcards for these swaps. I bought 35 of 1 postcard style that I found at Navajo Bridge in Northern Arizona. I have only a few left... it's not hard to get rid of that many here on Swap-bot!!
Comment: Hello Maggie,
It is wonderful to swap with swappers more than one time as you get to know them. Thank you for the lovely package of notecards, postcards, and stationary you sent me for this swap. I felt like I was a kid in a candy store when I opened your package. I love collecting all three items and so I have new items to add to my collection or items to use if I wish. Hope we continue to meet and swap with one another.
Response: So glad that you liked what I picked out! I buy a lot of my stuff at Target... Target really has a nice supply of notecards! I will probably keep hosting this swap for many many more rounds!
Comment: Hello Maggie,
Thank you for the beautiful Australia postcard you sent me for this swap. It is a great start off for this series swap. I am having GREAT FUN with this series swap. ARE YOU?
Response: I am very new to postcard collecting. I definately prefer to recieve naked postcards... it's so much better to get a postcard actually stamped, addressed, and written on.
Comment: Thank you for your E-mail for this swap. I am sorry that one swap you join was done so badly. Your blog seem very cool and well done.
Response: Thank you so much! That was so nice of you to say. i love working on my blog... I appreciate your compliments. I am definately doing it because I love to share what I know with others. Thank you thank you!
Comment: Lovely family happy new year love the pcs and can't wait to, try thee recipes ty
Response: Thanks so much for the heart! I love love love postcards! and that fajita recipe is so yummy! I am going to teach a freezer cooking workshop here in Vegas and it will be hands on. One of the meals everyone will prepare is the fajita recipe.
Comment: Thank you for the postcard! I love your secret! :)
Response: I can't even remember which secret I told you. It's kind of embarressing that I have so many secrets. Every time I join this swap I share different secrets with different people. I read their profile and then decide which secret to share with them. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Thanks Maggie! I hope your trip to Hawaii was as beautiful as the postcard
Response: Oh it was amazing. We flew all night and arrived at 7am. We went to Pearl harbor the first day. We then went to Turtle Bay. We spent the entire time on the island of Oahu. We circled the island 5 times in 5 days.... it was wonderful! I loved the Polynesian Cultural Center and the Pali lookout... but my absolute highlight was touring the TV shooting locations of the TV show LOST. I could go on and on... it was so amazing.
Comment: WOW!! WHAT AN AWESOME CARD YOU MADE ME!! i kept looking and looking at it! Beautiful work! PERFECT!! LOVE IT!! I LOVED your message also!! maybe one day..WE will go latin dancing!!!??!! lol.. why not?!! we don't need our signifigant others!! it's really best to dance with a latin man that can "LEAD" the dance!! WAY better than 30's!!! thanks for including the extra "american girl" bubble stickers!! How adorable!!! your daughter has GREAT taste!!!! lol... Keep in touch...hope to swap again soon with you!!! your pal.... el
Response: Glad you liked the card. Birthday cards are so much fun to make. Cuidate!!!
Comment: Many thx for your New years Resolution. I think it's a very good and sincere resolution. I hope you will succeed. My encouragement letter is coming your direction !!! Best wishes for the New year !!
Response: It really is a challenging one to do... But I am working on it. Thanks for the encouragement!
Comment: Yummy recipes. Thank you so much, I will be trying them all. I am so happy when I get you as a partner either sending or receiving. :) I think you deserve many more heart and higher ratings. Getting a swap from you I know it will be extra good.
Response: You are so so sweet. I love to get you as a partner too! Thanks so much! I hope you have a wonderful 2013!!
Comment: I enjoyed reading your answers. As for your 4th grade daughter does she have a e-reader? You can load it up for her. Or maybe if she is interested in cooking, some recipe books, cards, something like that. Good Luck and Merry Christmas
Response: I actually bought her a kindle for her birthday last year. She likes it, but she still prefers actual books. The recipe book is a great idea! Thanks!
Comment: Hi! I loved reading your responses! Sounds like you all have the Christmas Spirit and your family will have a fun Christmas! Good luck on the book for your hubby! Wishing you and yours a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Thanks for the heart. I loved hearing about everyone's Christmas happenings.
Comment: Thank you for sharing your traditions with me. Tell me more about Zarate, I have never heard of that before. Have you heard the old saying, yes darling you can decorate the tree, I'll just rearrange the ornaments while you are asleep!! But you went one better and have 2 trees!!! LOL!!!
Response: Zarate is my maiden name. It is Spanish! So it's the Christmas party for my parents children. Thanks for the heart. I love having two trees!
Comment: What a cute Who-liday Card! I love Cindy Loo Who. Thanks so much for doing the swap with me. Your holiday season sounds wonderful and busy! Enjoy every minute of it! Merry Christmas & Have a Blessed New Year! ♥
Response: Thanks so much for the heart. I am glad you liked it. I love Cindy Lou Who too. I totally loved your card too!
Comment: so I just couldn't wait and I opened a couple of things today...and am so glad I opened your stocking :)
everything is perfect, I will PM you why the scentsy room spray being named inner peace was perfect for when I opened it, I love the headband and metallic hair color!!!!! the notecards are SO ME as is the washi tape (lurve me some tape!!!) and to end it the "I am brave" thing is fantastic...I am going to try and put it on my planner for the new year, I have to use it all the time for work so it will be perfect on there...thanks so much for a great stocking :)
Response: Yay! I am so happy you like the stuff! I had a blast putting it together for you. I kept looking at your photo trying to picture what you would look good with.
Comment: Thanks for the card. Great picture! Your kids are so cute! Are the girls triplets* (my question mark key doesn't work)
Response: My kiddos are not triplets, but the girls are a year apart. I had my babies super close together.... good thing... because when I was pregnant with my boy (and age 32) I had a stroke so no more children for me. Luckily I am doing very well... but my hopes for 5 kids... won't be happening. Thanks for the sweet comments and the heart!!!!
Comment: I had to show the PC to my husband and ask if this was also the place we stayed for a condo gimmick. It looked familiar to me. He swears it wasnt, but I am not so sure. Love the card and the story.
Response: I don't get why they put you up in a crappy place that is worse than where you would have stayed if you paid for the accomodations. At that motel we walked in and the hanging light over the work station was shattered and there was glass all over the carpet! Did I mention the heated pool was like 68 degrees? Oh well... we loved Sedona, but will stay in a nice motel next time. Did you visit the awesome shopping center Tlaquepaque while you were there? Thanks for the heart!
Comment: Hi Maggie! Thank you for the cute envelope and holiday paper treats inside! I especially like the carolers! I can almost hear them singing! A tradition in my family was started by my dad, The Ugliest Package Award! He usually won ha ha! One year I made him a little trophy! He kept it around for years! Thanks for helping to get me into the holiday spirit! Cheers! Karen
Response: I had a blast stamping and coloring the envelopes. I am glad you liked them. Love the "Ugliest Package Award" that is a great memory! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: beautiful family maggie
happy holidays to you. we have many italian traditions...we have a feast of 13 dishes of fish on christmas eve. we also open our gifts on christmas eve.
Response: I am glad you liked the card. I was debating about whether or not the family Christmas photo card could count as a PC... but I had purchased so many at Costco... much more than we needed... I decided to go ahead and risk it. Your Italian traditions are really neat. So.. on Christmas eve do you have to cook 13 DIFFERENT fish dishes OR does that mean you have 13 dishes with fish on each and have 13 guests to eat it... OR does it mean that you have 13 pieces of dinnerware that have fish decor? ;) Seriously.. I have never heard of this tradition. Is that hard coming up with that much fish? When my family visited relatives in Mexico when we were kids I remember opening our presents at midnight on Christmas eve. Do you open ALL your gifts that night?
Comment: Thank you for a sweet package. :) It was fun to see the photo of your family too. The little girls here were poised to help me with the sharing end. :) You should have seen them cuddling the doll ornament like it was a baby!
Response: So glad you liked it. My girls are always so excited about my swaps too!
Comment: Hi Maggie, I got your PCs today! Thanks so much! I love them :) I've only been to the US once, but this park looks really amazing, I'll keep it in mind! ...sorry it take me so long to rate u, but thanks for resending :)
Response: What a relief!!!! I have been sweating bullets.... worrying that they would never arrive. Thanks for the heart.
Comment: Oh boy! I can't wait to open my prezzies!!!! I will add commentary after I do. I am so jealous that you got to go to Hawaii and see all those Lost locations. I would love to see your photos. :)
Comment: Maggie! So we meet again! Thanks for the PCs! I've never been to the Grand Canyon but I've been dying to go for years.. I hope to do a cross country road trip one day.. while I'm still somewhat young.. when I do so, the Grand Canyon will definitely be on my to do list! I've only been to Vegas once and hope to go back again, until then, the PC will have to suffice! Thanks! & Thanks for organizing this swap! I totally agree that if we are sent blank PCs, that there should be a duplicate!
Comment: Thank you for the card. :) It was very difficult to choose what would be the truth...at first I decided they are all true and then decided none of them are true....argh. :D I'm going to go with...well, why not...your husband is almost deaf so you do lot of yelling in your house. I just found it to be my favourite option. :D
Response: Yes! That is true. He is nearly deaf and yes we do yell a lot.
Comment: I gave you a heart because first I thought as a hostess you were very prompt, secondly I love that you spent the time writing an e-letter with your wonderful creation! I love how your name pops out and the photo of your Grandmother. Your own handwriting is a great touch.
Response: Thanks so much for sharing all that. I rarely use my handwriting cause I hate it... Thanks so much for the heart.
Comment: Maggie you are oh so kind and totally made my day. I've been getting bad luck on senders lately and you brought back my faith that there are people who read profiles lol. Thank you so much!! I love the earrings as well, I actually have an outfit for my work day tomorrow that I'll use them for. Take care and thanks again.
Response: I am so glad you liked everything. I did read your profile and the Paris theme, hello kitty, quotes, and modern themes all stood out. I know that so many don't read profiles so I try to. I did find you to be very interesting.... Hopefully we swap again in the future. . :)
Comment: LOL! When I saw your pc, I knew it had to be for this swap bc I immediately went....huh?! and then hmmm! all the while, turning the pc up and down and side to side...I still cannot figure out what the red velvety stuff is...a kite? If I ever figure it out...I will let you know! Thanks for the swap!
Response: Glad you appreciate it as mu h as I did. yes it is a strange one.
Comment: Great card! I LOVE Dia de los Muertos too! We haven't really found any celebrations around here though. We do collect Mexican folk art- so every trip to the southwest is a shopping trip! Happy Halloween and thank you!
Comment: I loved everything that you chose! I can't believe you chose everything so well, they were all good ideas and things I would only dream of doing. It gave me a nice insight on some goals and dreams I should be working toward. Thanks so much!
Response: I am so glad you liked how I spent your money. I sure enjoyed learning about your town and imagining you living above your business. So cool. i love your mail blog. i may write you a real letter sometime.
Comment: Thank you so much for the goodies, My grandson was so excited when he saw the milkey way and the bbq chips, both his favorites he thanks as he claimed them immediately. I did get the Mounds and the pringles can to create with so we were both very Happy. you definitely made our day. Chocolate received in perfect condition. apparently post office being careful of packages.
Response: I was wondering what kind of condition the goodies arrived in. Were they crushed? Chocolate always makes my day! Thanks for the heart!
Comment: WOW! Thank you so much! That was so much fun. I have seen packages like this before sent "naked" and have wanted to try it. You are the best. Loved it!!
Response: I am so glad you liked it. I really was trying to find a way to make it different from our regular pen pal exchange. I got your letter in the mail two days ago. I answered it, and mailed it yesterday. Super fun! I have had a lot of fun trying to be creative in my letter writing. I think it depends the mood I am in... If I am feeling really creative and cheery then my letters will be more decorated. If life is kinda meloncholy or if I am just super busy then the letters reflect a more subdued attitude. Anyway... take care. thanks again for the heart.
Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely big chunky book :) So many interesting papers and intriguing little bits & bobs! I adore it! (And I'm in awe of the HUGE bookrings!!! Thanks again, hugs, Heather P.S. point me in the direction of round 3... lol ;)
Response: Heather, I am so happy that you liked it! I really did try to create a book that would be fun for you to use. If you click on my username and go to my profile page you will see if the current open swap for the International smashbook. Please join us again!
Comment: Maggie, sorry for the late rating. I've been sick in bed for the last 2 weeks! Hmm.. Trying to guess your truth.. Is it #1 that you have 3 cats & 4 dogs? All of them sound so believable! :) thanx for the PC!
Response: Nope. We had 1 cat until it ran away last week. My kids are devastated! The truth is that we live next door to a pig farm. Yes, it does stink a lot.
Comment: Nope, we don´t have such product here - and if we had, I would not use it, as I don´t use ready products in my cooking. But I´ll make cheddar broccoli soup inspired by your recipe. Thank you.
Response: I would love to hear how you make it from scratch! Thanks for the 5. ;)
Comment: Hi! Wow, you are good! I am having a tough time figuring out the truth - Is it that you live in a singel story ranch house with a pool? Hugs and Happy Swapping! ;)
Response: Nope! Last year for our 10 year anniversary my hubby and I went to Oahu and took the amazing tour. Half was self guided using Internet resources and the scenes when Hurley plays golf and the smoke monster and the 'others' village were part of the paid tour. It was totally amazing!
Comment: Thanks for the great ideas! I think I might incorporate your chocolate tasting into our Death by Chocolate meeting! The more the merrier, right? Especially when it comes to chocolate. And I am for sure going to use your handmade cleaners idea. I think it will make a cute meeting for spring. Thanks again for the ideas!
Response: So glad that you got my ideas. I love that we both have chocolate activities in the works!!!! Chocolate is truly a woman's BFF. Maybe we can do this swap again in a year and share more new ideas. Thanks for hosting. :)
Comment: What a wonderful package I received today. I love the your return address stamp. Did you put it on tape or does it come that way. What a wonderfully stuffed package. Thank you for brightening my day!
Response: So glad you loved it. I got the return address stamp from Etsy. It's a self inking stamp that I LOVE to stamp on everything! I actually purchased two different styles.
Comment: Thanks for the supplies! Wow, priority mail! My daughter was particularly interested in the shiny and clippy things, and I found the flocked velvet really intriguing. I think I might have found a use for a lot of the little papers, too. I have some other folks to pass things on to, so I think there is a lot of love to spread around here.
Comment: Maggie, I swear I believe I almost cried when I looked through the smashbook you made for me, I love it so much & I am so touched that you put so much time & effort into making it. This is the 1st. Smash book anyone has given me, thank you so much!
Response: You made my day! So glad you loved it. Let me know how you use it. :)
Comment: Holy cow! What a fun book. I loved the use of ephemera and the cork page. I loved the color scheme you used and the heavy paper. It was so packed full I will be filling it with life's juicy tidbits. Thanks for going the extra mile. If you ever want to swap another book in the future Just Ask!
Comment: Thank you for the package, it was awesome! I love all the notecards and colour pens! The Ikea notebook is great too, I love Ikea. =D
Response: I am so glad that you liked the package. I had a lot of fun putting together the different items. I love that IKEA book too! It's cool how it has a moveable lined template. Glad it got there in a timely manner!
Response: You are so kind. Thanks so much for the heart. I wish I could show all of you my collection... but binders just aren't pretty. The contents of them are pretty cool though. Thanks again! What do you collect?
Comment: Maggie, giving you a heart for this one because you obviously put a lot of thought in to the swap and were so worried that we'd not think of your binders as a collection. i think it's a pretty brilliant collection personally and you must have put a lot of effort in to finding out all that information!
Response: It was a ton of work... and tears.. and TIME!!!!.... but it was so so so so worth it!!!! I sent you a message! :) By the way.... what do you collect?
Comment: Awesome journal! Love all the ephemera you included and the picture of you and your beautiful family! Thank you so much!
Response: I really think that ephemera should naturally be part of a journal like this. I made those business cards last year and ever since I started including them with all my swaps I TOTALLY have almost gone through my stash of 250 cards~!!!!! I guess time to make me some more... but maybe with a new photo. :) thanks for the heart!
Comment: THA NK YOU SO MUCH!!!
A beautiful book with alot of thought given to quality. I love it as it is and I don't know how soon I will want to use it because I like looking at it just as it is. If and when I decide to use it I will probably make a gratitude journal of it..
Thanks again so much!!! Extra hearts !!
Response: I am so glad you love it. It totally was made with much love. I hope everyone gets something they love.
Comment: Out of all the ephemera you had to choose from in my faves, you chose my one of my FAVORITE shops to buy from! Thank you so much! I'm so excited to look through it all and use it in my smash book. Please be sure to leave her excellent feedback. She's one of my favorite people on Etsy!!!
Response: Something funny.... I have that shop on my wishlist as well... and in a swap a week after the ephemera swap my partner sent me my item from that same shop! Yes... very quality stuff!
Comment: Thank you SO SO SO much for your inspiring, dazzling and beautiful journal! I REALLY love it and I am going to use it soon (: I really think this is one of the best swaps I ever made and I really hope you'll like my journal as well <3
Response: I really had a wonderful time making this for you. I have made a few... and this was my favorite one to create so far! I enjoyed doing a private swap with you and would lovce to do more in the future!
Comment: Thanks! The Muppets stuff is awesome, floss is always useful, and I love the post-it book. That's such a great idea. I always have smaller post-its lying around & I either wind up losing them or my cat steals them and I find them weeks later, etc. I wasn't expecting to get a lot of stuff I would use from this swap, but you made it a good one. :)
Response: This swap always suprises me that I too always get stuff that I want. I give away stuff I don't care for and get some stuff I like! Can't beat that!
Comment: It's awesome! Lovely! Arty! And crafty! All my favorite things - thanks so much. And thanks also for the bag of extras.
Response: I truly fell in love with that book and sending it off was like losing one of my children. ;) Seriously... I truly enjoyed making that and put all my heart and soul into it. I made it after my own personal style and hoped you would love it too! So glad you liked it!
Comment: What an awesome idea :) Love the gnome paper dolls.
Response: Before I signed up for this swap I went to Pinterest to see if I could find anything with gnomes. so... once I found the paper dolls... then I felt good about signing up for this swap. I loved gnomes now!
Comment: Oooooh! Thank you for so many lovely goodies... I especially love the old fashioned newspaper advertisements... reminds me of the tables at Wendy's back in the 70s! heheheh! Thanks so much!
Response: How funny! I had totally forgoteen about the old Wendy's tables until you mentioned it. We grew up in a town FAR from a Wendy's... but on school trips if we stopped to eat out THEN that is how I remember seeing the tables. I am so glad you loved the goodies. So many of them were from Pinterest... I typed in 'digital ephemera' and it brought up LOTS of images. I saved them in a file on my computer called Ephemera and printed out a few for you. I also had some cute things that I bought in kits off QVC back in the day when scrapbooking was much bigger!!!
Comment: CUTE!!! Thank you so much. Can't wait to put it to good use.
Response: I had a blast making the mini books! I think I have become a mini smashbook addict. I hope that swap didn't scare you too much. I am glad you signed up, even if you didn't know what you were in for ;) It is so much fun to look at our different styles. My book was very different from yours and also very different from Joyce's... but nonetheless they were all wonderful! You both gave me good ideas for my next ones. I loved how you used the tabs and tags glued to the pages... and I love Joyce's use of notebook paper. Have a great day!
Comment: Love all my goodies. I wish I lived in Vegas, too, so I could come to the parties!
Response: I wish you lived here too! When we had the first party we got about 28 ladies to it. Then by New Moon we were down to less than 20 fans. By Eclipse we were down to a sit down dinner party of 12... and the first Breaking Dawn was a midnight showing at the Theatre (as a group). Our numbers are totally shrinking...and now I am starting to wonder if the ladies are coming out more just because they want a night out than... they really LOVE Twilight?? I will say that we will go out with part 2 with a BOMB!!!
Comment: You don't have to be sorry that he probably won't like the casserole you send he wont eat anything all he wants is hot dogs and roman noodles, I did see the envelope Its cool that is funny that you put a recipe on there like mine we was thinking the same thing lol :D
Response: Sorry. My kids and the kids I babysit love this dish. I know all kids have their own ideas of what food is good and what isn't. I just barely got my kids to like tacos... and I am half Mexican. That was killing me!!! lol Did you notice on the back of your envelope was a recipe very similiar to the casserole you sent me? I had mod podge the back days before I got yours in the mail. Then I went to mail it out and realized that the recipes were very similiar. I just love to decorate boring white envelopes so... it was funny that the recipe I picked just happened to be so much like what you sent me.
Comment: Thank You sooo much for all the wonderful goodies!! Wish I could give you extra hearts!! I've been wanting a purse like that!! Didn't know anyone who made them and didn't want to buy one!! This was extra special for me!! Thank YOU!! <3<3<3
Response: This was such a great swap idea... I hope the hostess does another one soon. I still have items to share that I won't use. My own partner sent me a few things that I LOVE and would have never thought to try before. The comment by the hostess (I think) that she LOVED something she got in the swap... one man's junk is another man's treasure.... it's totally true!!! Maggie- soyprincesa2
Comment: Wow! What a wonderful assortment of treasures! Thank you so much, Maggie, you are so generous. I know crafters collect a lot of stuff and it is fun to share with others of like minds. This was a great swap - congratulations.
Response: Loved hosting this swap and will do another one soon. I enjoyed gathering the items for your box.
Comment: Loved the quote, and the card. Thanks!~ will be doing this again!
Response: I had a blast making your card. Each one I made was soooo different from the other. I read your profiles and from that chose your paper and quote. I have already added Swap #2 in this series. Please join!
Comment: I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! Thank you so much. The jelly beans are yummy, the books are great and the invisibility cloack necklace ROCKS!!
Response: I'm the swap hostess for this one and I was having a hard time deciding what to send. It was a fun, but challenging swap. I am debating about going book by book and working our way through them all. It is encouraging to know that you thought I sent a good package. I always worry....
Comment: Oh Maggie, we just keep running into one another. :) I think it's a very good thing, too! Thank you for the extra special package of goodies...I am envious of your stash just looking at these and so grateful that you shared it with me! Take care. <3
Comment: I had a REALLY bad day and receiving your package when I arrived at home, changed everything!! I loved everything you sent! Thank you for being so generous and you did an awesome job matching my interests!
Comment: Everything you sent was amazing. I would write so much more but I'm exhausted, ha! It was a great swap and I would love to be partnered with you again in the future. You did a great job and I can't wait to really get into the journal and CD. Thank you so much.
Response: I am so glad that you enjoyed this swap! I hope you enjoy the CD it is a pretty different mix of music. I love Latin Music so much... so you will hear a lot of it! I had a blast decorating the cover. I am not sure how I will use my notebook or if it will go on my shelf with my circle journals and scrapbooks.
