Update for September 2022: I have a new job and am loving it, but it has definitely taken over my life. To be fair to everyone I am not signing up for swaps for a while. Also, I am only checking my messages here on the weekends so if there is a delay in replies that is why. If you need a reply faster than that please email me at [email protected].
Hello Everyone! Cannot believe I have been on Swap-Bot for over a decade! A lot has changed in my life since I joined in 2010, but I still love postcards. Over the years I have tended to swap a whole lot and then I go away fro a year or so, and then I come back and swap a whole lot more. The mail is a fun hobby and it's always enjoyable.
Likes: images of globes, maps, travel, agriculture, UNESCO sites and national parks. I love quotes about strength and starting over. I also like things related to history; particularly food history, women's history, WWII, the history of the postal service, Eleanor Roosevelt or the reign of Queen Elizabeth I.
Dislikes: Sunflowers, rodents, snakes, pictures of babies, religious texts, things that smell, candles or anything that burns.
Favorite colors: blue, yellow, green; I also love aqua & red together and pink & brown together.
"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.' You must do the thing you think you cannot do." -- Eleanor Roosevelt
I LOVE post cards. In addition to the categories above I am fond of scenes showing a path or road going off in the distance, farm animals in other countries, black and white pictures featuring people, and cards that reference agriculture or food and beverages.
I also really like reproductions of art featuring people reading, pretty scenes from nature (like overlooks of lakes and rivers), or scenes showing tunnels or doors.
Also retro cards, particularly retro WWII cards or retro fashion cards, are awesome.
But people are always sending me surprising things I love too: funky cards, lovely scenery, things from your local area, etc.
If you think it is great, and you tell me why, then I probably will think it is great too.
I am extremely active in needle arts these days, particularly cross stitch and embroidery. If you do cross stitch and embroidery please let me know!
I like to read all types of books, particularly nonfiction (history, science, biography, etc.) and historical fiction (my BFF and I give each other a preorder of the new Maisie Dobbs every Christmas). I also like nonfiction graphic novels. Other favorite genres include travel/hiking memoirs, travel books about smaller countries, and books about starting over.
I love hearing about books you enjoy, particularly if you have a recommendation for books where the characters do needle arts (like embroidery and cross stitch).
I do not sign up for swaps I cannot send. If you do not get a swap from me PLEASE let me know so I can resend to you ASAP.
My house is in a rural part of Arkansas and I go to my PO Box several times a week, except in extreme weather. Sometimes I hit "send" when a swap is done, addressed, stamped, and in my mail bag but I may not actually drop it off until the next day if there is still plenty of time before the send deadline. Ratings may come late at night because I usually do ratings after everyone else is sleeping.
If you have any questions, or heaven forbid do not get something I have sent, please contact me directly and I will atone accordingly.

Hi ! Thank you for wanting to send me TY & PC. But no need to do that. Your thanks is great enough via swap-bot. But i'm so glad you liked the Pretzel PC so much & made your day. I'm sure we will be in another swap again as partners. As we pretty much join the same swaps.
This is what I made out of your envelope.
In case you miss the Yellowstone bears . . .
HAPPY NOVEMBER BIRTHDAY from WIYM!
Just wanted to say a big ol' Thank You for the box of washi tapes I received today. You are so thoughtful and generous.
