Hey guys! So I guess when it rains it pours. Shortly after my friend passed I was in a hit and run accident where a drunk driver totaled my 2011 GMC Terrain. Thank goodness no one was seriously hurt but with my insurance nothing was covered save for my medical bill. I’ve been having a really hard time, so it took me a while to start getting back to ok. I will be trying to get all of my ratings caught up and maybe start doing a swap or two. Thank you for everyone who’s sent me sweet messages. I really appreciate them. To the ones that have been sending me passive aggressive or in a few cases nasty messages please know that you’re not helping. Sometimes life hits you really had and kicks you while you’re down. Making it about you and making sure you get your mail rating is childish. There’s a person on the other side of the screen that you’re talking to. Please try to remember that.

Just a small life update. I lost a good friend recently to suicide. She was 31. It’s really been effecting my ability to keep up on things. If I haven’t rated you please know that I’m planning on it. This was just so unexpected. I’m sure I have the mail you’re wondering about and wouldn’t rate down without contact first. I’m just trying to take it day by day. Thank you for understanding.

Hello! I’m Cory. Please note I spell my name WITHOUT an “e”. I know the common spelling is Corey but that’s not how my name is spelled and it’s a pet peeve I’ve dealt with most of my life. I love going on trips around my state and I love visiting cool new locations, tourist traps, and looking for beach rocks.

Bridges fascinate me. I have only gotten to see the ones in my state (The Mackinac Bridge gives me chills). I hope to see more in my life.

Those are the movies I can think of off the top of my head but I have a lot of movies in my collection. I’m down to watch just about anything and will often avoid reviews so I can form my own opinions. There are very few movies I can say I honestly hate.

In general books that help me become a better person and understand different walks of life.

So many bands/musicians and so many genres that I love! It would be hard to pick favorites. I’m always open to hearing suggestions for new music. I also love going to concerts. My favorite one I’ve ever been to is Rush but recently I went to see Janelle Monae and she was amazing. I just really enjoy music and all of the different ways that people use it for expression.

I try to be kind because there is so much hate in the world. I like connecting with people and hearing their thoughts and ideas. One of the kindest things you can do is show interest in another person. Even if you don’t agree it never hurts to hear someone out and make them feel valued.
I’m not a big fan of people with “keyboard confidance” who are nasty online. I always try to remember that I’m interacting with a real person and I expect the same respect from others. Slinging insults doesn’t fix problems and I’m not going to assume I understand what someone else is dealing with. I try to live my life treating others as I would like to be treated. Also I believe that character is how you treat those who can do nothing for you.

I’m currently new to swapbot so I apologize in advanced if I have questions about terminology, rules, and such. I am a very punctual person so if you don’t recieve something from me in a timely manner please don’t hesitate to send me a message here and I will make sure to make it right. I don’t have any preferences as far as written vs, typed, and I’m happy to get mail. I don’t really care if it’s something catered to me or something that makes the other person happy. I’m pretty laid back about swaps and will gladly accept almost anything. The only things I’m not keen on are things that are disrespectful to others. Everyone in the world has an asshole. We definately don’t need more. Cool? Cool.

I really like coffee AND tea and prefer flavors for either. I mostly do postcards but I did recieve a ton of older cards recently as well. IF YOU ARE IN A GROUP PLEASE INVITE ME! There are so many groups and it’s a little overwhelming. It’s hard to know which ones are active. I am very open to joining groups though so please give me a heads up if you are in or know about a cool one.

A lot of swaps I’ve been in have said to check for likes and dislikes so I made this section just for that. I will take pretty much any card or mail. Send me whatever you’d like. I respect that people can have things they feel strongly for or against. I’m not really about being picky. I won’t rate based on whether or not I liked card design. I like to see what people choose to send. I like to keep it positive. Also if you have any issues with the swap just message me and we’ll work it out.
