Hello everyone!
Note: I am away from my computer Dec 15-Dec18.
First let me say - IF you don't receive a swap I have signed up for in a reasonable amount of time (postal delays, etc. especially international), Please let me know! I will resolve it one way or the other - even if I need to resend! Also, if you get a pkg "postage due" Please let me know and I will reimburse you! I am new here and do my best, but I am still learning!
** note: I prefer not to receive food items such as candy and chocolate ** Thank you!
I live on a "farm" of 30 acres and enjoy caring for lots of animals! My animals include horses, miniature donkeys, pygmy goats, chickens, turkeys, and guineas! It is plenty of work but much reward. What a crazy week it has been! $ baby goats have been born - 2 single births and a set of twins! They are super cute! I used to own 3 Alpacas but found it is too Hot and Humid here for them to do well so they have been rehomed. I miss them bunches!
I live in South Texas where there is plenty of heat and humidity. My husband and I are retired, but work harder than ever before! There is always plenty to do here! I enjoy sending postcards around the world and the excitement of receiving them also! Swap-bot looks very fun so I am giving it a try! Hopefully I won't miss doing something I am supposed to do! I always want to send on time and also Rate! If a mailing gets lost, I will resend. I will not flake! Please give me a nudge if I miss something! Also if postage is owed when you receive, please let me know and I will gladly reimburse! Thanks!
I love to travel. My husband and I have been all over the USA and some of Europe. I've been to France, Great Britain, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Belgium and Russia. Generally, we do not have hotel reservations or an itinerary when we go... we just GO! Such fun and we travel light with only a backpack. Our most recent trip was to Alaska in August 2019 and it was a wonderful experience. I was excited to see a Moose and a gray hump back whale. I never dreamed I would see those! The next trip is toPhoenix to visit my one son in Phoenix, AZ and then on to Las Vegas in January! I love to go there and usually meet my sister (from Nashville) to have fun with!
My birthday is August 14th and I am always excited to find others with the same date - so far haven't found any from Swap-Bot though!
I enjoy going to off Broadway shows. My all time favorite is The Lion King. I have seen it many times and I also love The Phantom of the Opera. I recently (finally) got to see Les Miserables! Wow! What a great show! My daughter and I saw CATS in October and the next show coming is a local production of Dickens A Christmas Carol. My daughter and I have a tradition of going to see it every year. I saw Jersey Boys in London a few years back and really enjoyed that also!
I follow the baseball team Houston Astros! I never liked baseball much until I was married (15 years ago) and now I try not to miss a game. I LOVE going to the ballpark, however, my husband doesn't much so I mainly follow it on TV. Either way, I love the Astros and follow them closely! (Just missed winning the World Series this year - BOO!)
One of my hobbies - I have many - is doing Mosaic tile projects. Maybe I can find a swap? I hadn't thought of that until now!! It is very time consuming but rewarding. My latest project was a 4th of July Tray American Eagle. I have almost finished my second tray which is of the Houstons Astros logo. It's very intricate and slow going, but I love doing mosaics!
I love anything with horses, miniature donkeys, etc. Animals take up most of my extra energy during the day. So I love any farm animal themed stickers, bookmarks, etc. I am also "addicted" to washi tape now that I have discovered it (I need PINK and RED solids)! (thanks SB!).
I don't have many dislikes except scary things or creepy, gory, witch, etc. I do like Harry Potter along those lines but don't consider that scary. I prefer not to receive candy or edible things. Teas are good tho! I also don't like glitter (especially loose) and absolutely cannot stand balloons! HA! I'm not sure why!
Everything I receive is a surprise and I appreciate the effort it takes to participate in the various swaps and love it all!
A little history - my nickname comes from the 100 year old church my husband and I bought several years ago which will become a wedding chapel that I have named "2Hearts Chapel". It is the oldest building in the small town I live in and sits under 100+ year old Live Oak trees planted in memory of soldiers lost during the 1st world war. We have completely renovated it with new hardwood floors, ceiling fans, paint and a large antique (from the late 1800s) church bell. I hope it will be up and running by mid-summer.
Finally, again, If you haven't received your package in a reasonable amount of time, it probably got lost in the mail! Please message me before rating a 3 or 1! I will make it right! I live in the country and the post office is, you know, The Post Office! :)
