THANKS FOR READING!
Updated10/24/2019 Moved to Missouri in April...slowly getting back into Swapping!
Updated: 9/29/2018 On vacation out of the country until October 7. We’ve had another death in our family, so I’m slowing down for a little while. Just really tired. I have two Trash to Treasure Journals that I’m working on, in case anybody is wondering. I thought I had one done, and just realized it isn’t. So, when I get back, finishing my pages in those and sending them out will be my priority.
2018 has been a hard year so far! My son, Silas (19), has called it the "Year of Loss."
Lately, with my work schedule, I've been having a difficult time getting to the post office, so I've been dropping my swaps in the blue drop-off boxes. If anything comes to you with postage due, please just let me know, and I'll definitely make it up to you.
SENDING AND RATING:
Swapping is a fun, creative outlet for me. Swap-bot gives me a place to learn new techniques and try new ways to express myself. I've never had a lot of technical "artistic" skill, but I try very hard on every swap to make something that is good quality.
I promise that I will always fulfill my swaps and rate fairly. If you haven't received something from me, or you feel my swap doesn't meet requirements, please contact me before rating, and I will gladly re-send. I will also do the same for you.
If I have somehow missed rating you, and you feel that a reasonable time has passed, PLEASE contact me. I don't want you to worry about your rating, and I won't be offended by your reminder.
Check out my Instagram to find out more about me, but, spoiler alert....I may have pictures of my current swaps located there!
Historical Fiction, Science Fiction, Cookbooks, Mary Jane's Farm Magazine, Urban Farming Magazine, Grit Magazine and Cook's Illustrated. Books on Prepping and/or Survival are among my top picks too.
I love reading good series. Some of my favorites: OUTLANDER, A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones), Ender's Game, Inheritance Cycle, Hunger Games.
I read all the time. ALL THE TIME. I also like putting my thoughts down on paper, nothing terribly formal, mostly just simple journaling and possibly some bad poetry I'm too scared to share.
Collecting wild herbs and making herbal remedies.
Rich Mullins, U2, Passion Worship Band, Chris Tomlin, Lindsey Stirling, Johnny Cash, Twenty-one Pilots, Tom Petty, Lord Huron, Amber Run, Fleurie, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Mazzy Star, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, and The Beastie Boys (I know, I know...it's a guilty pleasure left over from my years of teen-age angst.)
Homeschooled all my kids from birth. The oldest went to public school for 1/2 kindergarten plus first grade, otherwise they have all been educated at home. This is something I'm very passionate about!
All four have graduated now, but I'm helping a little with my granddaughter.
I work part-time as a Biofeedback Therapist and weight loss coach at a family-owned alternative health center. My husband is a children's pastor in a large church located in a small town in Northern Indiana. As a Biofeedback Therapist, I run bio-energetic scans on people and educate clients on natural health options they can use to get their body into balance. Currently working towards certification in Traditional Naturopathy.
I love pretty things...shabby chic and floral themes are my favorites. I also love anything vintage and anything antique-looking. And butterflies! I love butterflies!
I AM A QUOTE-COLLECTING FANATIC.
I do consider myself a Christ-follower, but please don't think that I am here to judge anyone. I have quite a few planks in my own eye that I need to work on before I start digging at anybody else's "splinters." I really do believe that "love is the whole, and more than all." (e.e. cummings--one of my favorite poets!)
I'm completely fascinated by MBTI theories. I am an INFJ who is always trying to overcome the aloof first impression I seem to make on people. I think I have a pretty good sense of humor, but again that darn INFJ madness keeps it pretty well hidden until I know who you are.
Firefly / Serenity / Browncoats
Alice in Wonderland
Game of Thrones
ALWAYS looking for address labels!! If anyone could make me some pretty address labels with butterflies or colorful flowers, I would be eternally grateful! I don't have access to a color printer to make my own at this time. I'd love to do a private swap for some!
Several wonderful swappers have made me beautiful labels, but with all the swapping I do, they don't last forever, so I always need them.
I love collecting stickers, various ephemera, pretty papers, ribbons and anything else for use in scrapbooks, magpie journals, and ATC's.
How could I forget? I collect pigs, especially quirky piggy banks.
Some people might say I'm a little obsessed with coupons...but they probably don't save as much money as I do. UPDATE: we've changed our shopping habits and buy very little processed foods anymore. So I'm really just looking for baby, make-up, personal hygiene and cleaning product coupons.
I am very interested in all aspects of natural and alternative health.
I'm looking for a certain type of paper, I'm not sure how to explain it....if anyone knows the name of what I'm looking for, please tell me what it is! I'm looking for paper that isn't glossy, it's a little but thick, and your pen just sinks into it when you write. I don't know what to call it, but I want to make a hand-made journal out of it.
I love anything hand-made. I love seeing different techniques used by other crafters, especially paper crafters. There is just something very special about receiving something hand-made just for you. I'm not interested in perfection, but I really would like to see your personality in your work! :o)
Romeo & Juliet, The Gladiator, Braveheart, The Patriot, Pitch Perfect, Coming to America, Gangs of New York, Lawless, Transformers (all 3), Despicable Me 1 & 2, The Revenant, The Greatest Showman
For Profile-Based Swaps I Am Always Happy to Receive:
Used postage stamps (anything except US Flags)
clean stickers (no children's stickers please)
Hand-punched tags of any size
ribbon (especially sheer-colored)
Address labels ( Thank you to those who have already sent me some beautiful labels! This is something I always run out of!)
homemade envelopes (all sizes)
Black or brown ink-stamped images on white, tan or beige colored-paper
ABOUT EXTRAS: Sometimes I send "extras," and sometimes I don't. But I don't expect them, and I never rate up or down according to "extras." I rate based on the swap alone.
Other things I like to receive (I'm sure that I will keep adding to this list!):
Post cards (any kind of art print, black and white, your hometown, homemade, vintage with or without writing, Pennsylvania-especially Lycoming and Sullivan Counties)
Anything you personally create--your art
MY FAVORITE ATC THEMES: Butterflies, Vintage, Books/Authors, Faces, Quotes, Fairy Tales, Flowers, My Favorite TV Shows/Characters, Christmas, Hand-drawn, Hand-painted.
FOR TEA SWAPS I prefer fruit-flavored, mint, and herbal/medicinal teas. I'm not a huge fan of Earl Grey, or any regular black tea, but I do like Oolong tea.
Fringe, Poldark, Firefly, Outlander, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, The White Princess, This is Us, The Handmaid's Tale, Alias Grace, The Sinner
I'm always looking for some good NetFlix, Starz!, Amazon TV, or Hulu series...if you have any you particularly enjoy, PLEASE SHARE the titles and a brief description! THANKS!
THE MOST TRAGIC CHARACTER IN THE HISTORY OF ALL LITERATURE:
DID I MENTION THAT I LOVE OUTLANDER?
