I commissioned this illustration of me from Lemanntim on deviantART.
My name is Suzanne and I'm 47 years old. I'm from Corryton, Tennessee, which is just outside of Knoxville. I am a former social services worker, but now I'm on disability due to bipolar disorder. I am a textile artist, who also loves to draw.
I'm single and I don't have any children. I live at home with my mom and formerly feral grey tuxedo cat, Frankie. Many of you remember that I had a black cat named Johnny Cash for 16 years. Unfortunately my little sidekick passed away on 1/13/2022. He left this Earth peacefully while lying on my lap. He is sorely missed.
I love nature. I live in the country at the foot of a mountain, so I'm exposed to a lot of wildlife. I frequently see deer, fox, owls, opossums, squirrels, chipmunks, and raccoons. I just recently had an early morning encounter with a black bear in my driveway! Eeek! It still seems surreal. Opossums are my favorite animals. I love to watch them at night. They are such fascinating creatures. Did you know they don't carry rabies? Their body temperature is too low. Fun fact! I love insects and spiders, too. I find them absolutely fascinating.
I spend most of my time sewing dolls or plushies by hand. I don't use a sewing machine because it's just too complicated for me. I don't understand the mechanics of it all and it feels too daunting to learn right now. Sewing by hand is very relaxing and therapeutic for me anyway. I also love to hand embroider and to draw with a pencil and paper. (I suck at digital art programs. Well I'm ok with pixels.)
I'm almost always open for private swaps, so just ask if you're interested.
