Hi! I love to journal, and keep several different types for different purposes. I love my hobonichi, my midori travelers' notebook, and my bullet journal the best. I'm not very artistic, but I find sketching and watercolor very relaxing. I love to send snail mail, I'm still new at mail art, but learning as I go.
I have 3 young children who keep me very busy. We also have two dogs, a Border Collie mix and a poodle. We also have a guinea pig named Flash.I work at a local nonprofit.
Along with Journaling, I love to read, I am a big sci fi nerd, and I collect fountain pens. My family loves to camp, hike and canoe. (And of course cook, as my screen name suggests!)
I've started dabbling in watercolors. I'm by no means any good, but I love the process of painting. Art Journaling, and coloring books also bring me calm. I think of art as a moving meditation of sorts.
I love reading everything. Jane Austen would be my favorite, and anything in that genre. I also love mystery, sci fi/fantasy, thrillers, fiction and non fiction. I've been reading a lot of Neil Gaiman lately.
I have eclectic taste in TV. There's the usual sit coms and dramas. But I also like quirky shows, anything British (Endeavor!) and vintage mysteries (Poirot). I love Doctor Who, Sherlock AND Elementary, You're The Worst, and any Star Trek. I love cooking shows, especially Chopped and Halloween Wars. Lately, I have been enjoying The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The Umbrella Academy!
During quarantine, I've rewatched all of 'Grimm'.

-I really have eclectic tastes, and I love variety!
Tea seems to be a big deal around here. I have no problem with that. I drink all kinds, but prefer real tea over herbal or infusions. My standard is Earl Grey, but I am also one of those weird people who likes Lapsang Souchang even though my husband calls it creosote tea. I love flowering teas. And my favorite green tea is gunpowder green tea. I also like different mint teas and chai. But I really love trying different kinds and I love the different tea bag art.
I really do love almost everything, but as I have actually received a few of these things (and some are more problematic than others) I thought I should mention them.
Please don't send me:
-negative images on postcards or anywhere else. -political or religious items -Christmas themed items
I am extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke, so please don't send me items that have been exposed to cigarette smoke.
I'm a coffee addict. The first step is admitting you have a problem, right? I drink tea too, but coffee is a must have for mornings. And I love Starbucks (I know, I know) and Starbucks related paraphernalia. I love to collect cool Starbucks gift cards and other ephemera...
I'm not picky and really love seeing all the different things swappers share! But if we're doing a journal/craft swap, here are a few ideas of things I especially love: -Different types of paper, book, ledger, tea stained, etc.
-Paper twine and pretty string or yarn
-regular Traveler's notebook size inserts
-stationery, note paper, sticky notes, little envelopes, letter sets
-stickers of all kinds (please no reward stickers)
-washi (thin, big, regular, I love it all!)
-stamps or stamped images
-ephemera of all kinds, especially decorated paper (dyed or painted or whatever)
-anything handmade by you that you want to share
I always complete and mail my swaps. If something happens that prevents me getting it out to you on time, I will let you know. If something isn't right with a swap you get from me, please let me know. I will resend- I really want my swaps to be enjoyed.

I WAS SO THRILLED TO GET YOUR CHRISTMAS SWAP TODAY. I HAVEN'T OPENED IT YET. I actually just sent my first ever Hanukkah package to my friend, Julia, and timed it so it would ideally arrive in the middle. I will be saving your beautiful swap until Christmas Day, so expect a rating around that time. This is so lovely. Thank you so much. <3~
Hoping you are well Juliet, thought to brighten your days at home, from your fellow Jane Austen fans & 'Georgettes' do stop by the forum and say hello, xx Jane & Anna.
