Gaucha

I'm Dutch but live on one of the Spanish Canary Islands, located 100 km. of the African coast.

Here I enjoy life, walking, swimming, biking, reading, writing, teaching, learning and swapping. When you see me walking outside, I could be listening to music or my favourite podcast SYSK, geocaching or playing Pokémon Go or Ingress.

I love all kinds of music, especially Jason Mraz, Juanes, Julieta Venegas and reggaeton and music from the 80's, rock, pop. I also love to read, like music, I'm into all kinds of books. I like The time traveller's wife (Niffenegger), Pillars of the earth (Follet) Harry Potter, Stephen King, Dan Brown, Virginia Andrews. I love to read something I didn't pick out and be surprised. Reading is like escaping, living other lives, experiencing other adventures and learning new things, thinking new thoughts.

I'm never bored. Too much to do, too little time. I love teaching, but also learning. I like learning new languages and writing. I would say eating (chocolate and other sweet stuff) and drinking tea is a hobby of mine too...

Bingewatching series is one of my favorite pass-times. I love series like The Gilmore Girls, Lost, The Walking dead, Game of Thrones, Dr. Who, The Big Bang Theory, Big Little Lies, The Good Doctor, Stranger things, Glee, Friends, Arrested Development, Lucifer, Jane the virgin. I really love NETFLIX ;-) Films I like: Hair, Love actually, La vita è bella, Sound of Music, The book thief, Harry Potter, Avatar, Dirty Dancing, Notting Hill, Titanic, Shawshank Redemption...

I really like sports too. I watch soccer every week. I used to go to all the games of NAC Breda and had a seasonsticket to PSV Eindhoven. I like to watch other sports too and walk, swim, bike and play darts.

Since joining postcrossing and swapbot I absolutely enjoy sending and receiving postcards, letters, flip books, zines and ATC's. Making a special something like a mini zine or flip book for someone gives me just as much (or even more!) fun than receiving something. So recently I'm really into all beautiful paper things I can find and washi tape and stuff like that. It's addicting!

The downside of living on this small and distant island is that mail takes a while, so please be patient. I know it's hard, believe me, I do! But trust me, it will arrive and if not, of course I will resend, but please have patience...
