Hi to all,

My name is Kirsten, I am 52 years old and I live in France, though I'm Dutch. I've been married for over 25 years now, and I have 3 lovely kids who are now 24, 22 and 20 years old.

Though I'm happy in France, I love going back to my own country - the Netherlands - every year, especially in winter for Sinterklaas and Christmas. I have a passion for everything that comes from there.

I've always been crafty, as a child I used to have a huge box under my bed with pens, paper, scissors, glue and whatever you can imagine using for crafts. Since then, I have a crush for every kind of PAPER and paper craft. Cute stationary makes me crazy! I can spend hours and hours in stores like Paperchase.

I'm an English teacher, so I like everything that has to do with the USA, England, travelling etc.

I'm eager to start swapping through the world and back. It's such a surprise each time, to see when you will receive your next swap and see what's in it! A party in the letterbox is always fun!

At this moment, I'm very keen on junk journaling, mixed media, collage and art journaling. Over the past months I've been making my own enveloppes, but I don't really know whom I'm going to send them to. Maybe to you?

Started postcrossing a few years ago and I love to receive lovely cards in my box. Favorites are illustrated cards, no photos, especially Little Red Riding Hood and Alice in Wonderland, and whimsical editions likeTausendschön, Kaartje van Caatje, Orange Panda...

My favorite colors are bright : aqua, fushia, lemon green are what I use most. I also like everything black and white, and patterns : polka dots, chevrons, checkers...

From time to time I might use some soft and pastel colors, as long as they're light. Mint, pink, I don't like dark shades of brown, blue, green, red...

I like lots of different music, except classical, jazz and country&western.

As there is so much I am listening to, I'd say I like R&B, electro, rock, pop, everything present. I used to listen to U2, Madonna and Depeche Mode when I was younger, I still do, but I also like new things like Passenger, Lumineers, David Guetta, Rihanna. That is, their music only, I don't especially fancy receiving pictures of them.

I read in French, English and Dutch. Favorite authors are Jodi Picoult, but also Tatiana de Rosnay, Delphine de Vigan, Jean-Christophe Grange.

Mostly anything paper : magazine clipings, junk journals, mixed media, collage, quotes, any paper, planners, patterned paper, birds, owls, foxes, ephemera, SheArt, vintage women, stamps, fushia, aqua, black&white.

I love Halloween and Christmas, that's to say whimsical Christmas things, I prefer pink, mint green and turquoise rather than red/green/gold stuff. I'm happy to receive Christmas cards and postcards in November/December, preferably non religious and not with cats and dogs. Christmas stamps on it make me happy...

There is not much I don't really like, as long as it is made/sent with care and love.

I'm not keen on Disney stuff,as my kids are older now, I guess I'm a little bit out of TM. Also, I might be upset if I receive things that smell like cigarette, or stuff that you wouldn't want to receive yourself, it feels a bit like being cheated on.

I really love to send and receive postcards, especially when they are decorated on the back too, or when they have special stamps. I really prefer illustrations on postcards, rather than photographies. As mentionned before, anything cute makes me happy. I prefer store-bought cards, sent naked or in an envelope.
