Description:

I found this awesome idea on the web one day and thought maybe we could incorporate it into a swap. The idea is to focus on the positive and joyful things in our lives.

PART I

1)You will write in your journal (notebook, journal whatever you choose) twice a day for a total of five minutes. Once in the a.m. and once in the evening before you go to bed.

Basic format of the journal would be -

Date____ I am grateful for..... (list three things) What would make my day today great.....(list three things)

Daily affirmation - positive, self talk, etc. I am........................

Evening Amazing things that happened to me today (positives)...(list three) How could I have made today better? (list three)

YOU WILL KEEP YOUR JOURNAL for 30 days beginning on August 13th. Plenty of time to buy a journal, make a journal up. You can decorate it, etc. its yours and for your eyes only'

YOU WILL NOT BE SENDING THE JOURNAL TO YOUR PARTNER...YOU WILL BE SENDING A LETTER - see Part II for details.

Part II

After you have written in your journal for 30 days on the 31st day you will write a letter to one partner this letter will include - a)introduction of you b)Your thoughts on the five minute journal project - how you felt when you started it\ c)Conclusion thoughts - are your thoughts the same or different, how so....has the journal changed you in any way, would you continue doing one on your own.

Part III Once your letter is sent please post in the comment section of the swap whether you enjoyed the swap or not. Thanks

THERE WILL BE TIME TO PICK UP A JOURNAL OR A SUITABLE NOTE BOOK FOR THIS. You will need 30 pages for your journal or notebook. The swap is for 30 days.

Wow that's such a fantastic idea! I seem to be having a really big year in terms of life-changing events and I thought I should start doing daily pages again. Since I'm a newbie I'm only signing up for one very simple thing at a time until I gain a bit of confidence (and get some cred hopefully lol) so I'll have to miss this swap this time around, but I'll be watching it for sure! I wish you all the best and hope everybody benefits from their month of journaling. :-)

This is why I'm loving Swapbot. A challenge like this incorporates the love of mail, the love of stationary and the desire to write:) Good stuff! Looking forward to doing it.

I did this for five days! It was great. I even ordered one of the journals from Intelligent Design. I got one for my husband too. He's in need of developing a habit of gratitude as he begins some new medical treatment. We are planning to do this together.

I had fun with this swap but think I won't continue my journey. To answer the same questions over and over again was not my cup of tea. But I enjoyed the idea of the project and started to take some photos of those small and happy moments with my phone. I used to go through the photos in the evening while I was jotting things down in the journal. So I think I will stick with the photos and some kind of free form journaling instead.

Thank you @knitterofhats for the video link, tips link, printable template - awesome that you shared them.

Thank you to those who took part in the swap/challenge. I found at times it was challenging to find the "me time", but I wouldn't change that. I love to write and it was a great way to get the juices flowing.

@Toujoursmoi thank you for participating and yes your right answering the same question over and over isn't everyones cup of tea, I appreciate that you did. Photos and free form journaling are great as well!

@knitterofhats awesome that you ordered and you'll both do it. Keeping your other half in my prayers for his medical treatment.

Thank you for hosting. I'm glad I participated. I started off with petty things and ended with a hurricane making me grateful for the basics. It will be a great journal to revisit in the future.

Thank you for taking part @Turtles27 and I would love to do the journal project again with everyone at a later date. I plan on continuing it myself.

The hardest part of this swap for me was remembering to do it every day. I learned that this is NOT the type of swap for me, no matter what my good intentions may be in the beginning.

lynndespin 09/18/2017 #

It was an interesting swap, I learned more about myself, I need to take more time for myself and I think I maybe will do it again later on, such a journal.
