Description:

Using small "snippets" of your different washi tapes, you are to totally cover the front side of a plain envelope. Covering the back side is optional. This will become the mailing envelope for this swap. You can either leave an area to write the address, or you can use a label over your tape (If you choose the label method, you will want to cover it with clear tape.) You may use any size envelope to start with; the bigger the envelope, the more tapes you'll be able to show off. ;)

Any kind or brand of tape may be used, with one exception: NO duct tape. Inside your envelope please include a little hello note with your swap-bot ID, along with 4 to 5 washi tape samples for your partner. Each sample should 24 inches and on a shiny surface for easy removal. Please see the comment section below for wrapping tips.

Note: I found that some of my tape snippets wanted to peel up on the envelope, so I ended up putting some clear tape on some of the ends to keep them in place. You can also put clear tape over the whole front of the envie covering your washi tape creation and wrap it around to the back of the envie so everything stays in place while being mailed.

You can get started now putting this swap together. Nothing is profile specific! That way you will have it ready to go once partners are assigned~

Have fun showing off your tapes. We washi tape lovers have lots of washi tapes of our own, and most likely, tons of samples we've received from all our washi tape swapping! LOL :)

If you use playing cards to wrap your tape, please wrap them the long way on the card. This gives a little more smooth tape surface especially since the quality of some of the tapes on the market these days tend to leave a hard crease at the card edges. For those of us that use our tape to make cards, ATCs, etc. it's nice not having that hard crease. As an alternative, I've found that wrapping around an even longer surface (i.e. cut up office plastic folders or placements-check Dollar Stores or garage sales), or pieces of transparencies, etc. work well too. I cut them card size and this gives an even longer uninterrupted surface. :)

If you have a glue stick, rub it over the surface of the envelope before adding your tape, then rub a bone folder or other smooth tool over the whole thing to burnish. The tape will stick very well without coming up.
