ATC Jams Starter-Set featuring an: Asian-theme

BASICS:

  • Standard ATC size: 2.5" x 3.5”
  • Starter-Set: THREE (3) ATCs w/background elements already applied
  • Sturdy-Backer: 120# card-stock or equivalent (to minimize damage if bent)
  • Art may be presented in landscape or portrait orientation
  • Include RETURN ADDRESS LABEL on the back of all three ATCs in the set (Swap title may be included on a separate note inside the envelope)
  • Mail using clear protective sleeves or a 1x3-strip of the 9-pocket trading card page protectors

Since these are backgrounds, ALL mediums are welcome! Including an artfully placed sticker or piece of washi tape! I know there's so many beautiful, high quality products available, so let's be creative with them! Keep in mind, that this is not the swap for slap & glue craft. Although, I'm willing to coordinate something like that in the future, this swap is for artists to trade pieces of their work. So, no "sticker-slapping" this time! For further reference, the differences between arts (heart) and crafts (mind) are available

PROCEDURES:

  1. Upon Starter-Set receipt, you will rate your partner for creating the set based on the theme mentioned above.
  2. Add 2-3 items/techniques to each ATC, keeping with the theme, then place the set back into their protective sleeves & consult the group's Current Address List.
  3. Mail to anyone on the Current Address List, although it's wise to check the Forum PRIOR to sending, just in case the group member is taking a break. Reminder: None of the JAMS are required to be profile specific to the person that you are sending to. Participant's #2/3 are free to change original designs as they're inspired. However, it is NOT acceptable practice for them to add any additional stickers or washi tape. The third person will add their 'finishing touches' and keep one ATC for their collection, then mail one back to you, as well as artist #2.

NOTE: The only person that will receive a rating for this swap is the person sending the original Starter-Set. The 2nd and 3rd participants will not receive ratings, just a new ATC for their collection!

If you're new to the ATC Jams group, read the Group homepage and View Group Forum for the details about how the ATC Jams process works. Message me with any further questions!

Are you saying no washi tape or stickers of any sort no letter stickers ? What is acceptable to add? Just curious

Is collage ok? Cutout pieces pasted on?

@hibiscus Yes, thank you for asking! I do believe collage & cutout pieces are acceptable. Even use of one word from something like a Tim Holtz Idea-ology CHITCHAT STICKER pack is allowed.

As THEE Starter Set I’ve noticed use of both washi tape and stickers is allowed too.

The restriction, I think, is really just for anyone adding to existing JAMS they’ve received to work on. Participants #2/3 have been asked not to add stickers or washi tape, according to rule 1) listed at the bottom of the GROUP forum’s Current Address List where it states: Please do not add Stickers or Washi Tape to your JAMS.

I don’t believe this is a hard-n-fast type of rule, just something in place to prevent original artworks from becoming altered too far off-the-rails, per se. Hopefully that answers your questions. 😉
