Description:

Hello, hello fiber friends!

Due to the current pandemic I thought it would be fun to host a simple type 1 swap for all to enjoy even if your current postal situation doesn’t allow for sending/receiving packages.

For this swap we will show off the textile/fiber projects you’ve been working on lately as well as describe what you’re making, any patterns you’re using, and describe some of the process. You can show off the progress you’ve made on your latest quilt, the dozens of masks you made, the afghan you are crocheting, progress on your current embroidery project, etc.

I’m going to approach this as a time period specific swap for now with each “show & tell” focusing on its respective time period. The progress/projects you’ll show your partner(s) what you worked on between June 16th – June 30th (2 week period).

Swap Details:

  • For this swap you will be sending an email to your partner(s) showing off the textile/fiber related projects you’ve been working on during the time period of the swap.

  • Include at least 2-3 photos of what you are working on, be it “work in progress” photos or photos of the finished project.

  • Include 1-2 paragraphs describing what you’ve been working on. What do/did you like about the project? What did you not enjoy? Any new techniques you’re learning? Most satisfying step? etc.

  • If using a pattern or kit you didn’t develop please give credit to the pattern/kit maker.

I hope this makes sense, and please let me know if you need any clarification! I’m still working on refining this concept so feedback is more than welcome!

Thanks for offering this swap! I can't participate because I have done no textile projects lately and don't see any on the horizon. But I think this swap is a great idea for anyone who has been less of a slug than I have been. It's always encouraging to see what people are doing. I appreciate your effort, @StagKing :-)
