USA only.

You will use one plastic egg; (like the ones you would hunt for) your choice of color. The egg size is that of the size of a real chicken egg. You will then stuff it with all kinds of embellishments including: ribbons, charms, glass beads, buttons - thin SPRING! Once it's stuffed, you will then tape it securely all the way around the egg. If you want, you can throw some green/other grass inside the bag or maybe some confetti, just have fun! Don't forget to put a swap card inside telling your partner your Swapbot name!

Drop it into a small plastic bag with a zipper closing, secure it with packing tape, address the outside and then run to the post office and make them smile!

Newbie friendly - must have completed 5 or more swaps with nothing less than a 5 rating.

If you have any questions, please post them down below. Enjoy!

I think everyone should check with their post office because they might refuse this because of the tape thing .

HeideC 02/18/2009 #

What do you mean "the tape thing"? I always tape my envies closed.

telizas 02/18/2009 #

Its a fun idea, but a plastic egg is likely to be crushed without some sort of padding. :(

CraftyHamster 02/18/2009 #

This sounds like a good idea... I agree with telizas... it might get crushed :-(

I don't think tape should cause any problems, as long as your stamps are on TOP of the tape (so they can be properly cancelled). Since it would be an odd shaped item, it would be non-machinable and would incur a surcharge, but the post office should still take it.

Its a lovely idea and I hope the Post Office accept them - in the UK they wouldn't so its just as well its USA only!

I just hosted a naked mail, and as long as it has an address label to and from, and it's not terribly fragile (Easter eggs are pretty sturdy!), they will have no problem being mailed! Have fun with this swap!

PurpleTX 02/19/2009 #

people do "naked" mail all the time.
frizbees, flip flops, paper plates - I see this as no different.

I mail stuff with tape over the WHOLE package - as long as the stamps are over the tape, they do not care.

Do a search for naked on swap-bot -- check out the naked mail swap that went on recently.

just wondering if the egg will be big enough

pgk 02/20/2009 #

The egg is big enough and the U.S. post office does accept these.

Susi 02/28/2009 #

Yay for naked mail!
