Description:

Using multiple colored 1" squares or circles you are to stamp your alphabet stamps (or use a mix of stamps and stickers) for a total of 3 complete sets of the alphabet PLUS extras of the vowels (say 3 each of a,e,i,o,u) AND one complete set in plain white for each partner plus the extra vowels. You will have 3 partners.

You may use patterned paper or solid colored card stock plus one set in all white. IF you choose to use patterned paper, please use a soft/light enough pattern that you can clearly make out the letters of the alphabet. Use your creativity when choosing your papers. Try doing one complete set using all the same color and another using all different colors. (great for using up scraps) Or stamp your consonants on patterns and all of the vowels in solid colors. Just some ideas.

So are you making a total of four sets per partner (3 patterned and 1 white)?

Woa, thats 4 sets x 3 people. There's 26 letters in the alphabet + (3x5, for vowel extras=15) =41 for each set. Sooo 41 x 4sets= 164. Soooo 164x 3 partners= 492 letters!!!!!!!

Nah, good idea, but I just don't have that much time. And I wouldn't want to send something that I didn't get a wow from.

yeah i agree with travelbunny, great idea, but to much for me right now.

Yes, Picupurcross, you have it right. 3 patterned or solid and 1 white.

To travelbunny, If you took one sheet of 12x12 cardstock and cut it into 1" squares, you will have approx 144. (depending on how accurately you cut) You would only need 4-5 sheets of cardstock or paper to complete this swap. (4 sheets would yield approx 576 and the 5th one being white) Since each person will get 164 letters for a total of 492 for the whole swap, you'd have some extras for you-or in case you mess one up when stamping) If you got your alpha stamps out and stamped each one 12 times (more for vowels) You'd be done in no time at all. If you used a punch, you'd be done even faster! I just cut my white cardstock-it took me about 11 minutes using my fiskars paper trimmer-while watching tv. This swap could be completed in an hour or so while you are watching your favorite tv show. There are 16 days until the swap is due, If you're short on time-take 10 minutes a day for 6 days until you get them done.

Personally, I'm not looking for a wow, just a bunch of fun letters to use on my projects. Hope that helps.

One more thought...your letters do NOT have to match! It's called ransome for a reason. Vary up your papers and/or your alphabets! Have fun!!!!

I would prefer if my partner would not cut up the alphabets and send them on sheets that can easily fit into an envelope. Thank you! Easier for you, easier for me to keep track of them in my craft area.
