Hi! I went ahead and signed up for this although I'm a newbie. You can check out my references on Etsy.com and Ebay.com all with the same user name. Also, I would love to be the mini-host and send out the box first. I have a bunch of books, zines and stuff that need new homes, and to have the newbie send first seems like a great way to eliminate risk for more experienced swappers loosing their stuff.

When you send out the box is when you press sent...i mean its not that hard to just delete the message. i plan on sending the list to you ikyoto right now..i just have to write down all the addresses and names....I was under the assumption that everyone was pretty much sending to who they were supposed to...so I did not have to make a list to follow. That keeps addies a bit more private.

and yes bookcrossing books are fine. that is where you pass books on and people can post they recieve and send back out right???

Yuppers, BookCrossing (www.bookcrossing.com) is where you can 'release' books into the wild or pass them on to someone and they can log that they received it, etc... I use to be pretty active on there but haven't really done much with it in a while now... I've got some books I need to release so this will be perfect for that! Yay! I love to share books. :)

I can't wait to dig through the goodies. :) And add some to it! Will the box be big enough to add some extra things even if I don't take things out? Like if I only take 2 books will I be able to add lets say 3 or 4? Just wondering. :)

yes my box will be sent out the 25th....you wait until you recieve the box to send out...and YES...you can add more than the taken books...if you take 2 and have several you want to share....more than 2...by all means add them...

as for the size of the box..i plan on using a flat rate box...they are large....it is hard to get alot of books in...but if you rearrange and move stuff around...and cram..and sit on it...they WILL fit...as for extras...i would try to keep them sorta small...if it involves small parts...PLEASE put them in a baggy..if it is lotions...BAGGY!!! I personally plan on sending a list with mine..including all the books and extras i add...and when the people take them, they mark them off...and in THEIR section they write down what they added...

As for adding more people..we really cant..partners have been made..LISTS have been made....maybe we will do another one later...after the boxes make their round....this swap will take a while to complete.

I didn't read the message above before I sent it out, so there isn't a list of what I put in in terms of books and extras. There are 10 books in there now, and a bunch of extras! If tIREEN feels like making a documentation list, that would be awesome too.

I received elizabeth4510's box today! Woo hoo! I just got home from a looong sunny/sweaty evening, lol, so I haven't had a chance to dig through it yet but I should have it back in the mail on Friday (my next mail-run day). :) I can't wait to see the goodies inside!

Oh! I'm a complete dolt. I received the box on Wednesday.

I took a zine, the Pin Bear planner ('cause it's so flippin' CUTE), and the Tao te Ching.

I have a really really big book collection of good stuff I've gotten from the annual library sales and other places (even from Borders and Barnes & Noble and local book shops, etc.... can you tell I have an Issue with books?). I had a big pile of books I wanted to share with the Box 'O' Book Round Robin robins, so I made some modifications to the current contents.

I took out some of the older paperbacks and replaced them with some of the ones I had loved when I read them from my share pile. I included stuff like Fall on Your Knees (accidentally bought that one twice; it's really good!) and a little hardcover novel by Diana Gabaldon (an Outlander spinoff).

I also decided to make an outright replacement: I took out some packs of printer paper from the original package and put in knitting and crafting magazines and a craft book.

One thing I was surprised to find in the original package was Uncle Tungsten in hardcover. I had that book in paperback, so I decided to trade the smaller book for the hardcover.

I added a few extras, took the overflowing original box to the post office yesterday morning, put a new box together, and carefully shoehorned everything inside. It's JAM PACKED! It's over 11 pounds, and it's on its way to Chinita in New Jersey!

(will post the delivery confirmation code in a little bit -- I have to go downstairs and dig it out of my errand basket first).

Wee hoo- I was home maybe 5 minutes and then realized that there was a box waiting for me.

Yes, the box was packed. I actually only took one book out, but I will put 2. (I just bought 2 "new" books today and will head out to the library tomorrow to look through their FREE books--so I'm a bit booked out)

Anyhow-I have to get a new box from the PO because I can't re-seal it. I hope to get it out --probably Wednesday or Thursday----

The zine I took is that funky GLBT one -- I'm none of the above but do love underground press and was very interested in the publication -- it's very cool. I was very tempted by Squirrel Haiku, I have to admit. I swapped the zine "I Was A Teenage Mormon" for the GLBT one, because the juxtaposition made me giggle.

Sacratomato- Wow! We must have very similar taste because all of the stuff you took is the stuff I put in. :) Maybe once it comes back to me, I'll be getting some of your stuff.

Just an FYI...when I handed the clerk the box, she almost made me pay the regular priority rate - NOT allowing it to ship via the flat box rate. Now, according to her they are supposed to do that if the box is NOT perfectly FLAT! :( I told her that it looks just like it did when it came to me...and she said ok, she'd let it go because she doesn't really care, but some of the clerks there are really sticklers. Maybe they just like being the 'postal police' here in my little 'berg'!

Hi guys! Elizabeth sent me a note, and I realized I'd forgotten the box. I've sent it off today, after a mad dash down to the Post Office. The delivery confirmation number is 0307 0020 0000 3462 5440. I got in just under the wire (4:58!) at the Post Office, so that might be why they haven't scanned it yet. I'm checking it again tomorrow.

The box had to go at non-flat rate as it was outside of the size. It's the same size as when it arrived to me, but I guess my Post Office guy is a stickler. Sigh!

I forgot to say, I took out a couple of books, and put back in a couple of diferent ones. The Louisiana cook book completely appealed to me, as did the squirrel haiku.
