Description:

So I really wanted to do this but I do NOT have 35 type 3 swaps under my belt. You don't either? Perfect! join this swap!

weeatcrayons was kind enough to let me reproduce her swap :)

Anyways, you'll do the themes below...once a day in your journal.

Must do every theme and then you can add more if you like.

The twist?? Take a Composition notepad...and alter the front and back of it. Decorate it in your favorite themes, or maybe something your partner enjoys, or even something completely random. doesn't have to be a composition notebook but does have to be something like it. A spiral, etc. Something you can write on, something to decorate.

This must be WRITTEN...not typed on a computer.

Here are your themes (one a day)

1) Write an introduction or short description of yourself.

2) Make a list of 25 things you want to do in 2010 and 2011. Since I know some of us plan ahead!! These can be simple or big things!!

3) Cut out a local news article (a recent one) and paste it into your journal. You could even write something about it if ya like.

4) Write about your pets you have or have had.

5) Create either a really ugly page (images, draw bad, ugly stickers, etc) or a really pretty page (images you like, cute/pretty drawings, pretty stuff)

6) List 10 things you can see from where you're sitting.

7) Turn your journal upside down and write an entire page in the opposite direction to how you normally write.

8) Write about body image. You can write about yourself or comment on things like beauty standards in our culture, etc.

9) Write a timeline of your day today. For example: 8:00 AM--Woke up and ate Frosted Flakes for breakfast. 8:30 AM--Took a shower and realized I was out of mousse when I started doing my hair.

10) Write down lyrics from a song that inspires you, moves you, or creates a strong emotion.

11) Is there anything you think that's wrong with the world today? Write about it.

12) Write in a circle. Start at the top, side, bottom, middle and write making a huge never-ending line making a circle! Fill up mostly the whole page.

13) If you normally write in cursive, print today and if you print, write in cursive.

14) List 100 things you love (could be places, objects, people, etc)

15) Write about something creative you're doing. Maybe something for a school, volunteer work, a craft project, even a swap project!

16) Glue an envelope into your journal and seal a secret inside. When you receive the journal, you can open your partner's envelope or choose to leave the secret hidden. If you don't have a secret include a secret present for your partner! Could be some stickers, something you made, some little goodie!!

17) Write down a recipe you have tried and ENJOY! If you have room, write down another!

18) If you could go back in time, write about something that dramatically changed your life....would you do something differently or the same?

19) List 10 things that make you smile.

20) Write with multiple colors on the same page. You choose the topic.

21) Describe your favorite place to write in your journal and why it's your favorite. If you don't normally keep a journal, like myself, Describe your favorite place to just get away from it all. Someplace you like to be by yourself!

22) Write in all capital letters today.

23) Read your partners profile, and fill a page with things you think they'd enjoy.

24) Tear or cut up a photo and glue the pieces back together randomly. You could even make a puzzle!

25) Make a collage, and try to use the images to describe part of your day.

26) Make a promise to yourself today and write it down in your journal so that it fills the entire page.

27) List 10 books you loved and 1 book you hated. List 10 songs you loved and 1 song you hated.

28) Glue in an artifact from your day. This could be a business card from a place you visited, a ticket from a movie you saw, a stamp from an envelope, etc.

29) List 10 things to do on a rainy/stormy day.

30) Talk about the weather.

31) Write about something that happened today. Was it crazy? boring? exciting? Tell all about it and your reaction to it.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have completed and been rated on a few TYPE 3 Swaps (no email/flat mail only)

Must have a 4.9 or higher rating

No no sends in the past few months

No newbies

I will check and ban BEFORE assigning partners. So if you see a questionable in there, I probably see them too but will ban before I give out partners.

Must fill out journal, MUST decorate front and back covers.

MUST send on or before the deadline.

Since this is a theme a day you can begin working on this now if you wish.

This is not the type of swap that's easy to angel, so if you can't commit DO NOT SIGN UP!

23) Read your partners profile, and fill a page with things you think they'd enjoy. Ok I may sound sort of dumb, but is this ACTUAL items we must glue to the page,or WRITE what you think they may like..THANK you ..This sounds fun,but it is a lot of work to NOT know if you will get one back..people PLEASE do this if you sign up.. lol..pretty please... i LOVE this idea!!!!

awww :( being a newbie REALLY sucks, this is awesome :(

Hello! Could you tell me what you mean by "composition notepad"? Do you mean what I would call an exercise book (thin-ish book with lined pages held together by a couple of staples in the spine?) or is it something else? I live miles from any shops at all and the nearest ones don't have a lot of stationery, so I don't want to sign up if I can't get the raw materials! Thanks.

I warn you now from a previous theme-a-day journal swap that just took place that these things are a MESS. the coordinator for the one i was in disappeared, she allowed people in that shouldn't have been in it, there are a ton of people getting flaked on because of it... just watch out for these newbie theme journal swaps. you don't want to put a lot of work into something and end up with nothing in return. that's why the ones that require so much more are a safer bet. no offense, I'm not trying to judge your swap or anything, but I stepped in with the one from @scorpiogrrrl and it's A LOT to deal with if you end up with a lot of newbies and such in your swaps. good luck though!

In response to mizvicky: written, images glued or stamped, drawings, collage whatever!! In response to filpot: just some sort of journal/notebook. Coil bound or otherwise, a moleskine would work or something cheaper in response to katehawk: no newbies allowed in this swap, high ratings are still required just not 35 type 3 swaps. I am prepared to handle all the responsibilities of thi swap. Thanks for the concern!

I am willing to do private swaps with newbies in the same form of this swap. Or anybody that wants to do a Private Swap for theme a day journals!

lheureuxart 04/ 7/2010 #

So cool. I too wanted to join the other one, but don't have 35 swaps, although I'm not a newbie. This is great. I'm watching for now, but will more than likely join.

Hi, I'm pretty new, but I've now sent a pen-pal letter (but that wasn't a swap--I just got an address from a member and wrote a letter) and 5 one stamp envies (Broke Folks #6) and a private swap with 2 people of a card w/ list (and small present), and then the actual swap of that (10 Things to Be Happy About), and as soon as I log off this computer I'm going to the post office to mail off my List of 100 Things to Feel Better About Life (which I sort of crafted into a book). And I'm mailing out bubble gum machine charms today to 3 people. And I'm signed up for a pen pal swap to start on the 20th. And I am a teacher who makes my kids write all the time. Would I qualify, even if I just joined last month? Let me know. Thank you!
