About Me

Hello! I'm an English teacher from Massachusetts. I wanted to get into writing pen-pal letters as we used to do this in school and I absolutely loved the process or writing and sending letters and cards. There's something really calming and rewarding about claiming a "slow process" back in the busy lives that we are all forced to live. While I'm a complete lover of tech I still write in my diary in long-hand and type on my type writer... because I'm a lowkey hipster. I mean, if I had a mustache I'd style into a funky shape and use wax. But I'm a woman and just CANT facial hair...NO. When not teaching I'm figure skating! Yup, you will finally know a real live actual factual figure skater. Like a good one too. I can do those spins you see on tv. Swear! You can check out my youtube channel... of course I have a youtube channel - I'm a hipster.

I stole these topics from other people:

Favorite Books WOW - that's hard... see I read like a lot. And I know people say "oh I read a lot" and then they read like ten books a year... I read like a book or two a week because... English teacher. I read a lot of YA lit. I like to make sure I have a list of books in my head ready to offer students who think "reading sucks".

-Love Stephen King! Short stories more than novels, but that Gun Slinger series...Woah! Don't talk to me about the movies. I will drag you.

-Murder mysteries... cough Mary Higgins Clark. Yeah, you heard me. Judge me! Drag me!

-Twilight series - I'm kidding those things were rubbish.

-Luckiest Girl in the World that book was astounding.

-World War Z - holy WOT with that book! (again, do not approach me about the movie, I will fight you!)

-biographies about weird people. I read a bio on this prostitute who ended up like the richest woman in England in the Georgian Era and was like "you go!" And then another on Tesla... had issues.

Favorite Movies

oh no... so many...

Wes Anderson's anything, but my fav is Moonrise Kingdom- just beauty

The Cutting Edge - what, i figure skate, it's like a requirement for the sport

Blades of Glory - oddly not universally loved by the figure skating community, not sure why...

Nightmare before Christmas

Batman Returns - I love Tim Burton's earlier work

Murder on the Orient Express okay, I know.. but that movie was good

Beyond the Sea I know we all have to hate Kevin Spacey now, but that movie... my heart!

Favorite Crafts

knitting and crocheting is fun

I love painting in acrylics and watercolor!

letter writing - of course...

make youtube vids

Favorite Television

"Family Guy"

"Unbreakable Kimmie Schmidt"

"Orphan Black"

"Gotham" - again, I'm trash, I admit

Favorite Tea

Hot Cinammon Sunset. I had a friend say "OMG that tastes like Fireball whiskey" and I was like "that flavor's called cinnamon...and you should talk to somebody."

Early Grey

British Breakfast

I want to try Macha

Favorite Colors

Autumnal colors - deep reds, orange, darker yellows, purple. Colors that you would associate with the turning leaves and fall in general.

Things I like

Long walks on the beach.. no haha. I hate the beach.

Fall - wearing sweaters, smelling the leaves just after the rain, listening to the sounds of football practice, chilly nights with hot cocoa

Winter - glowing snow on a bright morning; sleeping late on snow days, driving down streets with trees covered in a thin layer of ice like I'm in a chandelier; shopping for presents or just going to the mall to watch others rush about, trips to NYC to skate at Rockefeller center (yeah, i actually do that).

Cards with cool quotes on them. Fortune cookie papers. Sweaters on dogs. Neat tattoos with a good story behind them. Listening to people as they remember something happy. Watching old people smile. Listening to young people talk.

Comment: Thank you for the Arlington National Cemetery card. It's commendable that you started figure skating at 40 years! I am in my mid-30s and I'm already getting so many aches and pains. I loved hearing about your random facts. Plants do have an alienness to them, don't they? I love eating them, but I'm not the biggest fan of having them in my home. Which makes me sad because I love the green splash they bring! Have a beautiful week, AnneMarie. :)
Response: Thanks so much for the five and a heart! Plants are evil! Beware them.

Comment: Thank you so much for the lovely postcard. I would love to visit Nantucket one day.
Response: Thank you so much for the heart! Nantucket is really beautiful. I don't go there often, typical, right? People never visit the sites in their own state. LOL.

Response: Thank you so much! I was really nervous that it would get lost or not arrive, or just be yucky. I really appreciate the heart!

Hi, fellow newbie here.

I just ran across your profile...this place is as black-holish like the web. Anywho, you stated you wanted to try macha. Next time you hit up Starbucks ask for their green tea latte. They tend to over-sweeten it, tho, so depending on your preference you may want them to dumb it down a bit. Calm it down? Unsugarfy it? You know what I mean. Hopefully.

Take care and see you around! :)

Have you read "The Bassoon King" by Rainn Wilson? He had a wacky childhood! Laughed through most of it, cried in other parts. :) oh & the audio, he narrated & it was hilarious!
