I am a married and a mother of two teenage boys who keep me busy. My husband and I are currently home schooling our youngest. I am a girly girl and am out numbered by the males in my house. I have a home based custom drapery and design business. I have been doing this since my boys were small and I enjoy the creative aspect of my work. I started sewing when I was nine years old. For years I made all my clothes and even made my boys some of their clothes when they were small. Now I enjoy sewing for my home. I love to work on decorating the interior of my house. I am always changing something around and have a home project or two in the works at all times. The thing I enjoy the most is scrapbooking. I have found in the past few years that my interest is in handmade cards and small custom albums. I like doing these because you can get them done fairly quick and I love to give these books and cards away as gift that my friends and family can have to treasure. I have done classes on scrapbooking and card making. This is something I also enjoy. My boys are involved in many sports and in the summer my one son can have as many as 60 games. When I leave my house I always have my craft bag packed so I can be ready to work on one of my on going projects. I look forward to swapping with other crafters. I love giving and getting handmade items.
I like girly things.... I love the color pink. It has been my favorite color since I was a child. Blue comes in a close second. I use these colors a lot in my card making. I love to look at books that have county cottage home decorating even though my home does not look like that. If I had a second home that's how it would be. My decor at home is traditional with a bit of country french. I tend to use a lot of golds, brick red, moss green and a splashes of black in my decorating. I love decorating for Christmas. I decorate 3 trees. Each with it's own theme. It is my favorite holiday. Summer is my favorite time of year. In the summer is when I use a lot of the color pink in my decorating. I plant lots and lots of different shades of pink flowers. I love working outside on the flowers and the pond which my husband designed and built. It's a shame I live in Michigan because Winter is Sooooo long and cold. I have just started reading a lot more. I just finished the series of books by Lynn Austin called "Chronicles of the Kings. I could not put them down. She is a christian author and the books are fiction but based on real characters from a period in the bible.
I have just started working with beads and jewelry making. I find it a lot of fun. I made some hook bookmarks for a group of friends for Christmas. Lately I have really been interested in purse making. What girl doesn't need a a new purse to go with an outfit!!! I love looking at the patterns and selecting different fabric combinations. I love the look of the retro fabrics especially the Amy Butler fabrics and patterns. My latest thing is altered books. I've done a few things and I am currently working on my ideas for a journal/datebook for myself. I also am an apron lover. I just need more time in the day to be able to do everything I enjoy!
Making aprons is also something that I've enjoyed lately. I love full aprons not half aprons, because I am a messy cook. There are so many new cute patterns. I like something different not the ordinary chef aprons. I'm a girly girl, I love flirty aprons. I like to have pockets to put my gadgets in. I love long ties cause I like the look of an apon that is tied in front. I am a size 8. Some of my favorite aprons are large flower prints bright and colorful...I love summertime. So it's wonderful to bring a little summer sunhine into the kitchen when you're cooking! I am in the "Hitting the Trail" swap and would like an apron with a country theme...Bandana prints are one of favorites!!!
I love opening the mailbox and seeing a package! Especially when there are decorations on the package. What make me smile is when someone really goes out of their way to put some thought into the swap. It means a lot to me. I aways read the profile of who I am sending to and like to have the item represent what they like, so when someone does this for me, it really touches my heart!! Somethings I like when I get a swap... I love embellishments of any kind... on journals, clothing or accessories. I love purses and aprons. Most of all I love when people share their heart along with their talents and give me a gift I will continue to treasure!!!
Every person has been blessed with a talent. It is our responsibility to use those talents to bless others. When I use my talent of creativity to teach and to give to others I feel that I am the one who has truly been blessed.
"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in it's various forms." 1 Peter 4:10.
