I am in the process of moving! It is not fun at all, and I am taking a long break from swapping.
Hello! My name is Katie and I am 29 years old. I work in a bio-chemical research lab. I live out in West Texas, surrounded by tumbleweeds and dust and cowboy-movie mesas and broken down sadness. Sometimes, I look out over the endless flat cotton fields and rusted tractors and it is hard to remember that there is a whole big wide world out there! A huge wonderful world, filled with interesting, unique people who are walking around enjoying trees and hills and fresh luscious green grass. So I enjoy anything that comes from outside of my tiny little dusty corner of the world. I love all kinds of animals, but my special favorites are hairless rats. I am lost without them. I have a love for the weird and the sick and the bizarre. My sense of humor seems to lean toward the disturbing and wildly inappropriate. But I love people, so I try to rein it in most times, as not to offend. I enjoy writing long letters, journals, and notes. I do some decoupage, crocheting, needlepoint, and tiny machine building, but I am not a master at any of them. In fact, I am vaguely terrible. But I keep doing it anyways.
Any and all View-Master Reels! I go crazy for them. They are my absolute favorite, and I am up for any kind of trade!
Armadillos
Letter sets. I don't think there is such a thing as having too many letter sets.
OH MY GLOB! Lumpy Space Princess is like the best ever!
Darkhorse Stationery is also the best ever! I think I have every single one of their letter sets on my wishlist.
Stickers! For sticking on things!
Taxidermy
Trying crazy new candy and chocolates! I love weird, unique, retro, and local candy. Actually, all candy is good! Unless it is licorice. Then it is bad. I do have a weakness for Rainbow Sour Belts!
Seaponies.
Note cards
Postcards
Anything rockabilly/alt-country/country noir
Raspberry, cinnamon, flowering teas, citrus, orange spice, tamarind, hibiscus
Pin-Up girls and retro tattoo themes
Nudity! Is there such a thing as hilarious porn ephemera? If you find it, please let me know.
Laboratory equipment (Old vials, labels, diagrams)
Hairless animals
Rodent related stickers/pictures
Tiny sweaters and doll clothes for chilly hairless rats
Pink, leopard print, glitter, pastels
The visual aesthetic of Nicki Minaj. I think she is just uncommonly beautiful, and I love all of the bright colors and wigs and her range of facial expressions. I am not exactly a huge fan of her music, but I love pictures of her.
Fingernail stickers/decals
Cockatiels
Durian flavor or durian fruit
Religious items
Jewelry
Angels
Twilight
Send me your weird, your tired, and your old random postcards! I donΓ’β¬β’t really collect postcards for the pictures on them. I am more interested in the message on the back. I love reading tiny little weird stories, jokes, frustrations from the day, or a neat story about where you found the card. That being said, I do tend to love bizarre cards more than cutesy or beautiful landscapes.
I spend a lot of time at local thrift stores, searching for weird, old, unused postcards. If I buy one, it means that I absolutely love it. So please know that each and every postcard I send out is something that I would love to receive. I just mention this because I would hate for someone to get a 1968 tourist art landscape of Japan postcard from me, and they think I am sending them an old piece of junk when I thought I had sent them my very best! I promise that I will always try to find one of my old unused postcards that fits in with your profile, but I will rarely send out a brand new one.
Huge fan of bizzaro fiction- Mykle Hansen, Carlton Mellick III, Cameron Pierce, etc.

I don't really have a favorite craft exactly, but I try all kinds of new things. I think my real downfall comes from not being patient enough to sift through all of the instructions available on the internet to master the proper techniques. I just grab something and experiment with it until it looks approximately right, while being completely wrong the whole time. I just like the process of trying my best. Some things that I have really enjoyed have been working on photo-inspired art quilts, soap making, obscene needle-pointing and cross stitching, sculpting, and decoupage. I like quite a few normal things as well. Adorable baby animals, pretty paper, stickers and sparkles, interesting stationary, tiny hand soaps shaped like seaponies, colorful scarves, hot mugs of peppermint coccoa, fun candy, and all kinds of weird delicious teas. I enjoy mixing up my own loose tea leaves and spices for new flavors. I am not especially into scrapbooking or papercrafts, but I do enjoy gluing things to other things.
