PLEASE PLEASE NOTICE:
Again, I come to you all asking for forgiveness and time. I am so very sorry to have gotten behind on my swaps. The last 3 months seems to have been a test of family and will for me. I will NOT be flaking or signing up for any new swaps. I WILL get swaps out to everyone I owe and make up for you all having to wait. I will also be posting/rating on the swaps I have gotten.
I have been in Fl for the last almost month. My Dad was ill and was sent to the hospital with his lungs. We were told that he was in the end stages of his lung disease and that this was the end for him. He was in the MICU for 18 days and it was a hard time for us. There is only my sister and I and she lives down there. But she couldn’t handle being alone and I didn’t want to be away from him. He had many good days and many bad days. After the 18 days in Icu, he finally was released to the floor, in the shock of his doctors. On the 3rd day of ICU they were telling us he needed a tracheotomy and a G tube and to be put in a nursing home, or to be taken home with Hospice. He chose neither and told them he was going home soon.
As of today, he is in a rehab center learning to stand on his own again and breathing with O2 and the use of a Bipap at night. He will probably be in the center for a month, but then plans to head home. He is a blessing for sure. I just returned back home to SC yesterday and went right back to work. No work for a month makes for a BROKE woman :o/ I will be making up EVERY swap that I promise, Just please know I never intended to be behind. Just life having it’s way with me.
I hope you all can understand me, and I hope that you all are well.

Very new to this site, But old hat to snail mail and the likes of it. Have been an avid snail mailer since childhood. I have to admit learning the new ways of snail mail via the inter-net's help it pretty wild.
I am a 44 yr old female. Married, Mother to one amazing Daughter. Work full time out of the home. Odd sense of humor and out look on life. Enjoy meeting people and playing with paper and pens.. Also, I think it may be important to some, or Swap Creators/Adm, I am a Butcher by trade, So, grouping me with someone who is an avid Peta member, Or someone who is not into the whole Meat thing may not make for a good swap match. Just a heads up on that one. I do so hate shocking people against their own beliefs.
Much peace to you all..
I like all genre's of music, and love cultural music as well. I have a Heavy love for the Blues and a deeper love for the Mississippi Delta Blues, It is Great story telling at it's finest!!

books, books, books, and the back of cereal boxes. Seriously, I was raised in a house of readers. I read my first novel when I was 9. Novel, not short story or childrens book.. haha My Mom and Dad were avid readers and I am the same now. I love non fiction, true crime, Biography and more. I enjoy books on places and traditions so that I may learn from them. I am an all out nut for learning about cultures, From the Maori death rituals to Chinese foot binding.
For fun reading, I like horror stories and such. A lifetime fan of Stephen King of course, and VC Andrews, but have moved up with new writers as well. Addicted to my Kindle but STILL an avid shopper at Books a million..hahahah..
As for historical Reading, anything to do with life in this world from the past. To this day some of the books that I have read have opened up my mind to the plight of others more than school ever taught me.
Poetry... always
Movies are almost like books..:O) Right??
I love horror films. All types and have found that I adore Asian Horror films as well. It has become a new past time for me. I and a Jason fan more so than a Freddy fan. I was a follower of Fangoria Magazine for Mannnnnnnnnny years in my teens..haha

Precious, The Orphanage, Rose Red, The Skeleton Key, The Lovely Bones, Mary and Max ( snail mailers should see this :O), Daddy's Girls, The Color Purple, My Sisters Keeper, and many many more.

To ReyRey...
I am quite sorry that you feel that way about me, and that I am such a shameful swapper compared to you. Although, while over looking I see that your are quite dedicated to your Father as well, and I am sure that if he were laying in the MICU unit at a hospital 800 miles away from you, You may find that being late on swaps would not be your main concern. I also find it hard to think that someone would call another fellow human being shameful when they have no idea what is going on in that persons life. How delightful it must be to judge someone without knowing the trials they are facing in their life.
All things aside, I wish you and your family health, happiness and well being.
You are NOT very good at this whole SB thing are ya? 7 LATE SWAPS ON YOUR DASH! Shameful~
Hey! Rememer tomorrow is the last day to send your creations for the ATC + matching envelope swap! Happy swapping! Ana.

Stopping by to leave a nice comment #6. Glad to see a fellow single mother. I also like marshmallow pops and have tried to make my own. And glad you helped your uncle in his time of need.
You know, my husband and I have been debating what scary movies we should watch for Halloween this year. On your suggestion, we're going to stream a copy of Mary and Max. =D Thanks for the tip!
Hi Michelle,
I am stopping by your neighbourhood for the ' leave a nice comment #6' swap. I am also from a family of book lovers. My mother is a librarian and my father is a book collector. There is nothing better than escaping to the magic world of books.
Take care and happy swapping,
Cate
Thank you so much for angeling for the mail art for beginners swap. The geisha envelope is lovely beyond words. I wondered if you read my profile because "Memors of a Geisha" is under my list of favorite reads. Also, thank you for the 'happy' tuck-ins. The stickers and pretty colored paper really made me happy. It was so kind of you to add one more thing to your to-do list so I would have a swap. Sue
Welcome to the hand drawn/painted ATC group hope you find many enjoyable swaps with us.
