About Me

I have twin 7 year old boys and am a full-time Mama! I also watch 2 kids (18m & 8m) 5 days a week. I have been married to my prom date for 10 years. I live in Northern Michigan so I get a lot of crafting done during the long winters when it's too cold to spend much time outside. I like to read - mostly trashy romance novels but, it still counts! I generally post pictures of the swap stuff I make on my blog so, if you don't want to see it before you get it - don't look!

Favorite Television

Supernatural, Battlestar Galatica, NCIS, Firefly, Gilmore Girls, Dark Angel.

Favorite Books

The Outlander series, anything by Stephanie Laurens especially the Bar Cynster Series, The Swiss Family Robinson is my all time favorite.

Likes

I like things to be bright, colorful, cheery, whimsical...did I mention bright and colorful?!? The more color you can cram into it the better! I like funky and unusual things. I love hedgehogs, penguins, fairies, robots, trees, and the colors orange, aqua, and green. Actually I like pretty much all bright colors. I like stripes and paisley. I LOVE handmade/homemade stuff. I like trees. For jewelery I like hand made necklaces and bracelets best - sturdy stuff is best so the baby doesn't break it immediately! Not necessarily chunky, but not delicate except for special occasions which honestly just don't seem to happen very often. I prefer silver tone over gold tone.

Dislikes

I am not a big fan of pastels, neons or dull, muted colors. I don't care for TV cartoon characters. I don't wear hats cuz they make me look funny! Strong scents make my head hurt.

Favorite Crafts

My favorite craft is knitting, it's what I do the most of. I like to sew. I make little tiny stuffies by hand. I have a sewing machine but, I mostly make simple (squares and rectangles, people!) thing with it like napkins (I boycott paper napkins!), bags, pillows, and curtains. I can cross stitch but I am falling out of love with it. I have painted furniture and lamps to update my thrift store finds. I make magnets. My grandmother travels internationally quite a bit and at my request she always saves a few coins for me. I just hot glue a magnet to the less interesting side and Voila!

My Family

As previously mentioned, I have twin boys. They were born 3 months early, with Drew weighing 2lbs 9oz and Ian at 2lbs 6oz. They stayed in NICU for nearly 8 weeks before they could come home. They (by an absolute miracle) have no lasting side effects, other than being a little small for their age. Their Mama on the other hand is permanently just the slightest bit over-protective. They love pirates, superheros, (spiderman, ironman, x-men, batman, fantastic 4, superman), robots, skateboarding, snowboarding, playing outside, and reading books. We are in the process of redoing their bedroom from cars to cowboys. They love to "do art" so we go through alot of glue sticks and my vacuum has a steady diet of teeny tiny paper scraps!

My husband is an electrician. He likes typical guy outdoors stuff, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking. He likes beer, especially microbrews, and also makes his own.

My House

My house is very eclectic, my living room is blue, green and orange with very few purple accents. My bedroom is red, orange, blue, and black, with an almost Moroccan feel. The kitchen is barn red, sage and brown, but NOT country, it's mostly my husband's territory so he got more of a say in the colors. The dining room walls are a bright spring green with purple, teal, and orange accents. My kids artwork is EVERYWHERE!
