At this time I have decided to take a break from swapping (with the exception of one on going series that I have already completed most of the cards for). I have sent off the last swap I signed up for, if there are any problems please let me know. However, understand I will not be checking my messages on a regular basis and may take some time to respond.
Regarding Senders Choice Swaps: I am not super picky, but please check my dislike list. The few things I do not like are apparently super common. Sending from my dislike list will not get you hearts, no matter how well made the card.
I am currently a starving grad-student and I have been crafting for as long as I can remember. My favorites are: sewing, knitting/crochet, cross-stitch, polymer clay, jewelry making (bead weaving), and recently paper crafting.
You can see my work in my etsy store or on instagram under the username blackdragonalchemy. Both are linked above. I will not guarantee that there are not spoilers.
Please make sure to include the full name as written on the swap page for swaps you send me. I often participate in multiple, similar, swaps. The more I have to hunt down which swap I am to rate for, the less happy about it I am.
I cannot receive large packages where I am currently staying (one small flat rate box or a squishable medium bubble mailer). If you are sending something larger please contact me and I can give you an alternate address where I can receive packages.
I cannot spell, I know this. I have tried every method I have heard of to learn, it does not stick.
My favorite colors are black, blue, green, purple, silver, and sometimes red.
I prefer jewel tones and earth tones over pastels.
Pink is my least favorite color.
I tend to follow the KISS (keep it simple stupid) philosophy with my crafts.
I uaually prefer realistic over cartoony (unless it is related to something on my likes list, in which case cartoony can work). I prefer darker/mythical themes over traditional cute and cuddly. I prefer images of nature, animals, and architecture over images of people, and I particularly don't care for images of children or babies.
I do really like to see other peoples styles as well. I would rather a card you feel is well made and in your style, over one you don't like trying to match mine.
I am only missing a few of the original 151 pokemon cards, I am interested in private swaps for them. I do not care which edition or which language they are in.
9 Blastoise, 31 Nidoqueen, 34 Nidoking, 36 Clefable, 65 Alakazam, 127 Pinsir, 144 Articuno, 151 Mew
Also appreciated are any version/language of Ninetails.
We all wish it wasn't necessary, that our partners would magically know just the right thing to send us and we would love everything we receive. But since that is not the case these are the things that I would prefer not to receive.
I am allergic to
Unless the swap is profile based all likes/dislikes are merely suggestions. If I don't like something I will try to pass it on to someone who does. Or alternatively I may modify the card to one that I do like.
I send all of my swaps, if I have to send late I will contact you before the mail deadline. Unless I am unable to due to health reasons. Please let me know if it does not arrive, it was lost by the postal service. I will not hunt you down to find out why you haven't rated.
On that same note, if you are going to be sending late, let me know before the deadline. I understand life happens, but if the postmark is noticeably late and you haven't contacted me I will rate a 3.
If I am sending multiple swaps to you, I will send them together. If you would like to do the same, just make sure it is clear what swaps are included so I can easily rate.
I mark sent when It leaves my hand, after that it is in the post offices hands.
I will send extras if I have something I think you'll like &/or I feel like it. However, by definition, I do not feel that sending extras is required.
Similarly, I do enjoy receiving extras, but do not feel obligated to include one.
I rate when I receive, if I haven't rated you it is because I haven't received anything. Please do not harass me to rate you, you will get a 1. Polite enquiries will result in me telling you I haven't received anything. I typically wait 2-3 weeks after the send date to message people if I haven't recieved anything.
On that note, as much as I wish everything I send out will be loved by the person who receives it, I know that is unrealistic. I am perfectly happy to receive back ATCs that I have made.
Mail art is not something I can seem to get into, I have tried. I would rather put my creative effort into the swap itself. If you enjoy it, feel free; if not, no pressure to create a pretty envelope.
Because I receive so much mail art and I feel bad tossing it, I have started an ATC group where you make cards using mail art you have received. This group is open to any responsible swapper.
I am particularly interested in profile based ATCs. Or cards/ATCs with interesting techniques.
Examples of my work can be seen on my instagram or in my etsy store, both of which are linked above.
