Comment: Jessica thanks for the atc's. I was hoping for a portrait of one of the main characters. The quote was well picked though 😊
Response: I promise you do not want a portrait I would draw, and I prefer the symbols in the books to the characters themselves. The characters stay the same, but the intent behind each stroy is shone through the symbols.
Comment: You are a busy lady - I applaud your energy! Thank you for the note with the Springerle cookie recipe (I love anisette flavoured cookies) as well as the letter set and 2 teas - I look forward to trying them. (";)
Response: : ) Springerles were soem of my grandmothers fav cookies. When you bake them they 'spring' up.
Comment: Thank you for the wonderful pocket letter! I love how you made it and the how-to tips for creating some of the items in it. I especially love the lighthouse on transparent plastic. I have got to try that.Thank you so much!
Response: : ) It was fun to make, glad you like the tricks.
Comment: Thank you so much for the ATC and sharing your technique for it creation! I will have to try that technique. And I really appreciate the sticker - it means something to share a common love and interest! xoxo
Response: : ). I am glad you liked them, it was a fun card to make and the sealion is so cute.
Comment: that was fun!!! thanks for wrapping everything!! I loved unwrapping each little present and finding the goodies inside!! I love the cat beads!! the washi tape, charms, ribbon, stickers everything was awsome, your note was awesome too! thats cool that you make the beaded flowers too,I have seen that style but never made them. Thanks for such a fun n toughtful swap!
Comment: Oh my goodness Jessica, thank you for the absolutely fantastically awesome pocket letter! I loved your letter and think we would get along well if we were to meet. You chose such lovely things for me too. I really want to do something special with those postage stamps. Your story is excellent, I would love to read more of your work! THANK YOU X a million!!!
Comment: Jessica, i truly can say yours is the most personalized ppl i've gotten. for someone not a watcher of TWD, you did a great job! Daryl, Rick, my favorite half zombie and Sophia. Really great! the extras in the back i truly looked at and thought of things i'd do with them. good luck on your upcoming wedding! and i just string beads, lol, nothing fancy!
Response: Yay, I am glad you liked it : ) I had fun putting it together : )
Comment: Your ATC is absolutely beautiful. Truly. And it's funny because as soon as I opened it, I said, "DIATOM!" I loved looking at these in my bio classes in college (I was a biology major). They are so ethereal and beautiful and happen to be my favourite single celled organism just because of their beauty. So not only was this beautifully done, it was absolutely the most perfect cell I could have received. Thank you so much. xoxoxo
Response: : ). Have you seen the diatom art that some crazy people with a lot of free time make? I guess during the Victorian period the in thing was to have a microscope set up to look at diatoms and some people make them into flower and such. The museum of Juraasic technology in la has some really nice ones.
Comment: I found it! Don't you just love spam folders? Anyway, your projects are great! Thank you for sharing. I think I need to make tea wallets for my sisters-in-law! lol
Response: Tehe they are wonderful little places. Glad you like the projects I made, they are a lot of fun : ). The tea wallets are fun to make, I am making them for my family as Christmas presents. This is the [tutorial](http://sewitgirl.com/2011/11/09/tea-wallet-tutorial-6-bags/) I used : ). There are others but this seemed the easiest and most useful.
Comment: I Love the ATC! I actually love classic cars a lot! I go to a few thrift stores in North Park called Thrift trader, you get to trade you old stuff for their stuff. I also have a bunch in Chula Vista that I love, I make a day trip out of it.
Response: Glad I guessed correctly. I will need to check those it sometime. It is always fun to check out new stores.
Comment: Girl!! I LOVE them ALL!!! We know each other very well I think! AND the STORY!! Tell your man it is very cool!! I just love every single ATC! I was so excited to see your mail and I was so NOT disappointed!!* HUGZ* We have to do this again!
Response: Yay, glad you like them : ). Definetly need to do it again. Glad you like the story, he always likes positive reviews.
Comment: I love the cards you made. Such cool and inspiring ideas too (: I've seen glue used in batik before but hadn't thought of using it on paper. The stitch you used around the sail boat stamp looks very rope like. I really love all the cards (: and thank you for the extra acetate one- I've not seen a clear card done like that before, it is really neat.
Response: Glad they arrived and that you like them : ). It was fun trying to come up with different themes and ideas.
Comment: Thank you so much for the beautiful card. It's stunning and I can't wait to try another with added ink. I appreciate the extras too. The female image is stunning. I like your swap-card design as well.
Comment: Thank you for the note and samples. I loved learning more about your process. Out of your samples, I htink my favorite is the pinwheel of stamps. So cool! I too tend to like geeky/dark/pinup type of art. So, if you're ever interested in swapping, please let me know.
Response: I have a bunch of the pinwheels made up, ready to make into an atc if you want to swap for one.
Comment: Thank you for sharing this about yourself. I find it interesting to see how people answer the same questions about their preferences. :) I also enjoyed your cards, particularly the pinwheel and the dolphins.
Response: Someone on here hosted a swap specifically for the pinwheels... and since then I have been making them obsessively... I have ~10-ish made and waiting to be put on something. I really like acetate : ) Stazon ink and permanent markers are what I use for the acetate cards. I would love to receive one : )
Comment: Hi Jess, Thanks so much for the beautiful jewelry you sent me. The colors in the necklace are beautiful! And I'm in love the fun whimsical earrings. Thanks so much for being part of the MLU Group and for being a great partner!
Response: Yay, I am glad you like it. I really like making jewelry and the handmade jewelry swaps on here : ).
Comment: Aww...I LOVE my Irish Hello Kitty!! Thank you for a great profile specific ATC! Always love receiving from you and I love the new wax seal you've been using :-) can't wait to use it in a mail art ATC.
Comment: What a beautiful ATC! I never thought about using a lighter color on a dark background. I really like it. And I DO like purple! Next to red, white and blue, (which to me is just one color....lol) purple is best! Thank you so much for everything!
Response: I like to be contrary : ) Glad you like it.
Comment: Jessica--even if you thought it was a hard technique, you certainly ended up with a beautiful card! I love the way the purple and green merge and even mingle in the center of the ATC. It is lovely! Thank you very much!
Comment: Beautiful jewelry! My daughter loves medieval things and she would adore that necklace! See you next month for another project!
Response: It is a pattern from 'Bead Romance: Elegant Beadweaving Designs' by Lisa Kan. I am super happy it is almost done, I just need to get the pearls for the center piece : ). Then i start the mothers necklaces... For which i need ~ 10 more crystals. At least my bridesmaides necklaces are done.
Comment: Talk about speedy fast! I actually really love the flag ATC, it's interesting, and the background is perfect (: Thank you for the extra little bits, I'll have to see if I can incorporate the little flowers into the ATC's I'm working on!
Response: I am glad you like it : ) There is a lady who hosts Mandala ATC on here, and she is (to my knowledge) the one who figured out how to make those. Since I've learned to make them I have gone a bit over board with them. I used 10 for this swap and I still have probably 15-20. I am glad you like the extras as well. I have been in a destash mood and wanted to send things to people who would appreciate them : ).
Comment: Great card! She is amazing with a rubber neck ...LOL!!
Response: I am glad she arrived and still works (I don't know why she wouldn't work, but I was worried about it... first time trying it and all I guess.) She was an interesting challenge to make (I think I am getting better at drawing faces) and I am glad you like her.
Comment: Hello again friend! I recognize a couple of those stickers! Lol! Good to see your name as always. That wax.seal you used mostly survived the trip! I have one, and was wondering if it'd do well!
Response: I have a pic of the wax seal before it was sent out on my instagram (linked above) so you can compare the difference. I haven't had any trouble with them. I know that they can make it to Canada, I haven't tried outside US and Canada. (I am thinking of, eventually, doing one of these swaps for one including a wax seal so I figured I would send out some to people likely to play with me so they would be able to : )
Comment: Great things come in small and well taped envelopes. I just love the address labels, and the postage stamps and the postcards. Perfect for me. Thank you so much for going to all that profile based effort for me.
Comment: EDIT: Thank you for explaining yourself. I didn't realise the extra effort you put in, and I apologise.
Response: Thank you for thinking my work looks as good as a sticker, but I did not use one. I did not draw the image, that is true. But I did photoshop out the tiny details that wouldn't show up at atc size, colored it by hand using color pencils, markers and inkpads, fussy cut it out, glued it on, and added the glitter. The background is simple because I wante the mermaid to stand out. That card did have time and effort out into it. You are welcome to not like it, art is subjective, but it is by no means close to a sticker slapped card.
Comment: Thank you for TWO ATCs. Hope you are enjoying this series :)
Response: I really liked the bell one, but i figured it would have less significance to someone who doesn't Morris dance, so I came up with the horse shoe : ). This is my fav series so far, Discworld is my fav book series.
Comment: Thanks for the lovely ATC and the inspiring program. Most years, I also attend one at the local UU church. I loved checking out a very different program! Thanks again for participating and for your fun-to-receive envelope, and sorry for the computer/ holiday delay in repsonding :)
Response: Glad you enjoyed it : ) It was a fun swap.
Comment: Thanks for the lovely Pratchett tribute ATC and the mini-card with the really fun texture -- neat! I want to know how to make that texture :) How clever to create a Hogswatch meal, too -- I am very fond of custard! Not so good with Wow-wow sauce on it, perhaps .... Happy Hogswatch!!
Response: The texture was from embossing powder, clear ink with clear embossing powder. Wanted to make it look wet, it was suppose to look like the card DEATH made Susan : )
Comment: What a cute little ATC! And I love and appreciatethe decorated envie! Absolutely lLOVE the nativity ATCs...both of them. I've never tried water colors...I've been afraid but yours looks wonderful!
Response: Glad you like the cards : ) the resist from the heat embossing really helped with the water color. I just used the crayola one, I am kinda afraid of the fancy tubes of water paint I have.
Comment: Hi Jessica, Thank you for the Chicken Drumsticks with Muhammara sauce. We have plenty of lemons around here to use as a substitute, but will have to try and find some pomegranate molasses. Oh! and here is S. Texas we also have lots of Pomegranates. May have ito make my own malasses. Happy holidays, Demaris
Comment: Hi, Sorry for the delay. I just returned from a two month trip around the USA attending postcard shows. Thank you for the great recipe you sent for Lill;et Blush Cocktail. I look forward to trying it. Enjoy the day! Demaris
Comment: Hi Jess! Thank you for the beautiful purple embossed glittery Christmas owl. I love the cut out corners of your card and the snowflakes with bling:-) Lots of techniques on your card and I appreciate the work you put into it. (I love your "calling card" by the way...great idea I might steal..LOL)
Response: I am glad you like your card, it was fun design. I totally stole the 'calling card' idea from some of the ones I recieved : ). I find that not having to write the basic stuff means I actually write better notes.
Comment: I love my Christmas Hello Kitty. She does look like a Christmas tag and I love how the ATC looks like a tiny gift :). I ADORE her. Thank you very much for putting so much love into this kitty.
Comment: Thanks, Jess, that's a vividly written, imaginative story. You make it very real. Being no fan of fantasy, I cannot understand why this is a subject you want to spent your time writing about -- but that's your choice and you did a good job.
Comment: Oh my goodness! My inchies are wonderful! My first Star Trek themed and Minion themed art! Thank you so much!!!
And, I'm always an officer!!! I dressed up as Captain Janeway (from Startrek Voyager) one year for Halloween. So much fun! ;~)
Response: Glad you like them, they were fun to make.
Comment: After mailing 10 items this weekend (from Sat thru Monday AM), I received a bumper crop of mail myself including your INT boring people stamp ATC. LOVED it, but I also loved Janis Joplin. She was NEVER boring. Fun ATC, Thanks so much for a great swap.
Response: Glad you like it : ). Mostly I had 3 of her and wanted to see how I could make the same stamp look different.
Comment: Hi Jess! I received your sweet little Swedish basket today--my first--and it's lovely. I've not yet made mine and I was so glad to see one perfectly made to use as my example! It's already hanging on my little Ikea wire with a clip--my "pre" Christmas wall! Thanks so much for joining and for creating something special for me.
Comment: Thanks a lot for the stamps I'm sure i will find use for them and they already have a spot Iin my cling stamp binder and i love the fact you sent cling stamps as they take up so much less room and are easier to get out to use but i love wooden stamps as well but have found I've been mainly using my cling stamps because it's easier .Once my kids are grown and i have a craft room (my dream) it will be easier as crafts are taking over my living room and bedroom my fiance says I already have a craft house why do I need a room lol but I want a room just for my toys as God knows I have to much but keep buying and getting more to add to it .Happy holidays and I hope you have a great week enjoy
Response: I am glad you like them : ). I am currently looking for a good way to organize my cling stamps, any suggestions would be appreciated. I am sharing a one bedroom apartment, my craft stuff is usually shoved under the bed or the bottom of the closet.
Comment: Nice idea for a swap! I like the sentiments and hope to find some fun ones to send you as well! And thanks for the recipes, as well. I like to make solstice cookies that are chocolate with a yellow center for the sun -- I'll see if I can find you the recipe.
Response: Glad you like the swap idea, and everything I sent : )
Comment: Hello Jessica,
Thank you for the nice set of notecards you sent me for this swap. I like some of the variation in the cards you sent me--being some variation in size, color, theme, and design. I will add these to my Notecard Collection and look forward to using them.
Comment: Thank you for the neat envie and the great postcards. The embossed bird cage on the front was pretty awesome!
Response: I am glad you like the bird cage, it is the only bird stamp I have : ) I really like the paper I used for the the envelope, a lot of the Halloween things I have made this season have used it.
Comment: Great work!! I really like that corset and the pretty bow those corners were so amazing... They added so much to the look of the card and I thank you for the atc and those very shiny creatures ..,!
Response: I am glad you like it, I had to make a second one for myself I liked it so much.
