My name is Nan and I have been creative for as long as I can remember. I won recognition for my sewing skills in high school and did consignment sewing for a shop later in my life. I have made many t-shirt memory quilts for family and friends. I started painting with watercolors 20 years ago. I have been painting with oils for the past six years and love it...I go back and forth with the mediums. I had my own darkroom and developed my own photos and specialized in hand colored black and white photos. I started doing cross stitch and moved on to needlepoint. I have painted my own needlepoint designs on canvas. I have done card making with stamping, embossing, etc. and made many scrapbooks. I currently have been putting together presentation boards for different organizations I belong to...collages/huge scrapbook page for promotions/advertising/fundraising. I also paint on glassware-wine glasses, pitchers. bowls, etc.

SWAPS: Since joining Swap-bot, I have learned so much by everyone's example! I love doing ATC's, bookmarks, and now my newest passion are journal swaps. I think my style is evolving and I lean more and more to vintage and mixed media/"Tim Holtz" type of art. I use vintage photos of family members whenever they fit the challenge. I also have been getting into the pocket letter format and am enjoying that as well.

I have a binding machine and use that for my journal pages. If anyone would like to do a journal swap..pages or complete journal, please message me. I would be interested. OTHER INTERESTS: I enjoy reading, cooking, playing bridge and golfing. I belong to two service organizations and I am the secretary of the board of two non profit organizations. Done genealogy research on both sides of my family & ready to put into book form. Love to travel~recently been to China and safari in Africa; favorite trip was Italy.

MOVIES: I like comedies, action films with the super heros/comic book heros-Superman, Spiderman, etc., historical romance, futuristic themes, anything with Diane Keaton, Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, Richard Greer, Johnny Depp. I watch all the Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel during the holiday season. Recently went to a book signing & got my picture taken with Diane Keaton.

LIKES: The color purple, lilacs, anything with bling, kitties, birds, vintage photos, anything French, zebras, anything vintage, quotes, lace, gothic, gypsies, fairies. I am very easy to please.

DISLIKES: Gorey..bloody, scary, religious themed

WISH LIST: Not necessary to send, but surprise me. I love everything I receive.

FAMILY: I have two grown children (a girl and a boy-both married). I have two adorable granddaughters. They live close by and we spend as much time as we can with them. My granddaughters are very artistic and creative and we spend a lot of time crafting together. My children and grandchildren mean everything in the world to me. After 47 years of marriage, I am going out on my own to live my dreams and live the life I deserve.

By the way...I love kitties!! I have two~an all black little female by the name of Minnie Mews and a Ragdoll male by the name of Romeow.
