My name is Julie, I'm 42 and married with a 10 year old son called Lewis. We live in Crewe, Cheshire in north-west England although I originally come from Brighton in Sussex which is on the south coast of England.
In October 2005 I was diagnosed with breast cancer so had to have a mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy, I'm happy to say that I seem to be all ok again now but the experience has been life-changing in lots of ways for me.
I am trying to be really healthy now so I'm now vegetarian and try not to eat anything with sugar in at all. Before I was ill I was a diet coke drinking chocoholic but now I am totally reformed and just drink water or fresh juice and snack on healthy foods like nuts and fruit. I also only use natural cosmetics now.
Hope all this doesn't make me sound really loopy, I'm not too mad, promise!
I am a very keen sports fan, I travel to watch my hometown football (soccer) team Brighton every week and I also like cricket, formula 1 and basically most other sports.
My other main interests are photography - I take LOTS of photo's, travel and hearing about other places, nature and wildlife - all animals but especially bears and I love polar bears and surfing on my computer.
I am not really a big music fan at all though I love Kylie (saw her in concert recently and she was absolutely fantastic). I also like Robbie Williams, Madonna etc
I don't generally get time to read many books, I'm more of a magazine person. If I do read it's normally non-fiction. I love books with facts or lists in, travel guides and books about different places and books about nature or wildlife.
My favourite movie has to be Dirty Dancing but I'm not really a film watcher, I generally only go to the cinema to see the latest kids film with my son.
On tv I enjoy Coronation Street and currently avidly watching Big Brother...yes I know it's sad! I also enjoy real-life documentaries about people, places or animals.
I would love to be good at crafts but don't get the time to indulge and practice. I do make my own cards when I get time and would love to do scrapbooking...one day I will get round to it!
I would love to receive photo's, guides, local newspapers, leaflets of your town/area/country.
I enjoy looking at photo's/arts/crafts whether of your family or of something special to you.
Postcards - I enjoy collecting and swapping postcards of all sorts and types.
