My name is Cary Scholes. I live in Fredericksburg, VA. I'm a mom, wife, student, hmmm, what else...I'd like to think I am an artist. I have been making jewelry for years. I recently discovered that I love to paint, especially with watercolors. I am loving the world of ATC's - a mini-canvas for my A.D.D.-riddled mind! :) I also love to sew, sketch, bake - basically, any creating that I can do - I try to do.

I am petrified of the ocean, but really enjoy going to the beach (go figure!). I am also freaked out by heights...you won't catch me skydiving or surfing! I have a couple of tattoos, though needles give me the heebie-jeebies!

I absolutely love birds (not real ones, think they are gross!) but pictures of them. I think owls are fabulous, amazing creatures, so any type of artwork involving them is among my fav's.

I love Dexter, True Blood, all the Law and Orders...I get hooked by most of the reality shows, even though I say I am not going to watch them each season, I usually do!

I don't have many favorite movies right now...I haven't seen a good one in a long time. I like the old ones, and it seems like they aren't making them like they used to (I sound SO OLD!!)

I love to read, and will read about anything I can get my hands on. I like dramatic fiction the best, I think romance novels are stupid...though I will read on if I can't find anything else to read!

favorite colors - I LOVE pink, lime green, black. Don't love blue so much, especially pale light blue. But really, as long as the color fits the artwork, most colors are ok.

as for the "stuff" I like - I went a little jewelry crazy, for a long time. Kinda out of that now. I am into ATC's right now, and art journals too. I love to paint, though I am not a great artist, I like to look at other's work and try to re-create something similar (not "copy" it, but make something like it!) Consider it the truest form of flattery, really!! I just don't have the greatest drawing hand, but painting comes rather easy once the image is there...dunno why?? I also love to create things digitally. I find it super fun to open a package and find a surprise in it - sometimes I like to add a little something when I send things out - maybe you will find something from me someday! :)
