I'm an artist from the Netherlands; mostly assemblage and collage but I also draw, paint, bind books, make prints etc. As for the 9-to-5: I'm a games designer.

I like old things. I like beauty. I like people.

Favorite Books

Not so much particular titles - but I have some favourite writers: Neil Gaiman, Jack Vance, Neal Stephenson, Garth Nix, Douglas Coupland. And more. Many more.

Favorite Movies

Collecting movies is one of my guilty vices. So it's near impossible to pick a favourite. I've seen these movies a lot of times, though: All the Indiana Jones movies - Sex, Lies & Videotape - Prospero's Books - Brazil. I have a number of favourite directors as well: Greenaway, Gilliam, Kubrick, (early) Spielberg. Some TV series I like a lot: Red Dwarf, Lost, Firefly.

I could go on for a while...

Favorite Music

Dead can dance, Lisa Gerrard, Placebo, They Might be Giants, Ultravox, Kate Bush. Anything from the 80s and Slay Radio...

Not really into

Pink & fluffy stuff. Disney, Diddle. Unicorns or faeries. Hello Kitty. You catch my drift :)

Very much into

Old stuff: paper, newspapers, photographs, books. Sand, stones, shells, beads & seeds. Glass bottles. Marbles. Boxes. Lists. Museums (especially the ones that time forgot and that have hardly any visitors coming in...).

Comment: This matchbox is SO cool! I love the size and how sturdy it is. And your drawings are really lovely. :) I'm thinking the word is "deer"...? Pictures of a deer, ent (I had to look that up!), elephant and rain? But maybe not because deer is one of the pictures? Could be "reed". Let me know!! Also, if you want to make a matchbox in the future, [here's the template I used](http://www.etsy.com/storque/how-to/how-tuesday-matchbox-valentines-with-rachel-johnson-6948/). It was pretty fun making one. :)
Response: haha - you nearly got it. But 'deer' would be a bit of a giveaway if one of the pictures is a deer... It was: Trunk Rain Ent Elk (a tricky one, this). So the word was TREE. And I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for the <3

Response: Argh: MOSTLY intact? Anything critical broken? :( I could probably tell you how to fix stuff, so let me know if I can be helpful in any way (as if you wouldn't be crafty enough to try it yourself). But I am glad you like it... kinda special that a sea shrine makes it across the Atlantic :D
