Hi,my name is Catherine,I live in a small town in the south of the Netherlands. I married my high school lover and together we have 2 children. We live in an old brick house from the thirties, it is a great home to us and our cat Sushi. My background is in textiles and fashion design. But nowadays I like to PLAY with different media like paper,collage,paint...I love to make prints with the gelli plate on all kinds of different papers and ephemera. I share my mail-art on instagram ( if you want to be surprised, do not peek!). I like a lot of different things, so when you swap with me : just follow your heart ...Thanks!
*I recently discovered how much I love to work with FAIRY images (my inner child is so happy now!).
*Always in for TINY bits of lace, tule, translucent fabric or paper and tiny buttons or brads.
*DIE CUTS are great (especially Tim Holtz ones)
*HANDWRITING (on shopping lists, letters, invoices, receipts etc.)
*Vintage BOOK PAGES or cutouts for example from old schoolbooks or children's books.
*any other vintage EPHEMERA like tickets, maps, handwritten letters, office supplies like ledger papers, food labels/packaging, security envelopes, love!
*SHHHHHH (I have an ENVELOPE addiction and make my envies myself when possible).
*address LABELS, especially Dyson style ones!
*I love coffee and tea alike... I am discovering herbal teas, like lavender with chamomille and lemon grass (it helps with the fairy's too!)
*recycling/reusing is cool and so is THRIFTING. I love vintage paper items (can you tell?).
*JAPANESE design is an all time favourite...fashion, silk, origami, traditional patterns, kawaii cuteness (makes me smile).
*EMBROIDERY/sewing/stitching (also,on paper). I would love to learn about sashiko!
*I am very happy to be part of the swapbot community and do my best to keep it a SAFE place. Thanks and happy swapping!
I do not know what I prefer on postcards, the front or the back! Handwriting and stamps make it very special to me. So I will like anything you send me!
I prefer my postcards send naked and I would love to see your handwriting, so write me a little something please
I love colors, all of them! Bright, pastel, watercolors, aged surfaces, rainbow, metallics...as long as it is done with taste!
Mail posted in the weekends doesn't go before the next monday, sorry!
POSTAL UPDATE 01-2020: there are new guidelines for mail send overseas. Every envelope that does not contain documents only and is a little bulky, will be considered as a package (even a teabag counts). For example sending to the USA in this case is 10 euros. For me personally, this will mean sending my swaps as flat as possible, and sometimes, without extras.
Themes I like are : vintage encyclopedia - alphabets - handlettering/quotes - travel/maps - airmail related items- birds - japanese (textile) prints - watercolor effects - flowers/botanical prints- beautiful illustrations.
