I'm a poet and English professor living in west Chicagoland. I have many hobbies, including sewing, knitting, felting and doodling. I love to bake (especially pies) and cook. I'm quite good at both! My favorite exercise is boxing workouts. I've had pen pals since I was in second grade and love giving and receiving fun mail!
I love animals, and have had pet birds, dogs, Guinea pigs, hamsters, and fish. Recently, my hubby and I adopted two adorable dog monsters. They were found roaming the streets and were bonded quite strongly. We took them both in and have been working on adjusting behaviors from outdoor life to life in a forever home.. I also have a Dutch blue, peach-faced lovebird named Darwin. The dog monsters are Darwin's nemesises.
I love colors and have just started using water colors. I'm obsessed with color palates and combinations. Turquoise, sunny yellow, and melon are my most loved colors.
I read poetry, graphic novels, and like historical fiction, sci-fi, and international authors (what better way to learn about a country or culture?).
I love learning, which probably explains my love of nature programs, travel shows like anything from Anthony Bourdain.
I'm obsessed with washi tape. I'm getting into fountain pens. Because I want to do all the pretty things.
I'm also in love with BB-8. If I could have one, like a real one, I would.
I am not averse to swearing. In fact it's a favorite of mine. I have a potty mouth.
