Update: My baby is still sick and that has put all my swapping on hold for now. There is only one swap that I still have to send out and I have a very good reason for not sending that one yet.
ABOUT ME: I am a 29 yr old stay at home mother of an infant and a preschooler. We are vegan-vegetarian. I am a very natural person. I never wear make up or jewellery and I always wear long skirts. Oh, and I am a red head. :)
I am a "Flybaby" and I love Flylady's system of keeping your house and life organized. (I am so sidetracked sometimes!) My goal is to rid my home of all clutter and to fill it with things I love and that serve a purpose that helps me create a loving welcoming environment for my family.
I am also very religious. I am currently reading my Bible Through in 1 year (for the first time!) and am really enjoying it. My favorite ministry is "Revive Our Hearts" with Nancy Leigh DeMoss (it's non-denominational, although I'm not!) When I want to treat myself I pick up one of their products!
The typical day finds me with my children sewing, quilting, cooking, taking walks, playing the piano & singing with them or all of us playing outside together. I love to relax in a hot bath or cuddled up on the sofa with a warm quilt and a good non-fiction book! And my 2 year old and I LOVE wearing aprons! (Mine have to be pinned up to fit her, but she doesn't mind!)
I love music! I play the piano and the flute (so I like sheeet music for pretty songs - especially religous) and I collect muscial instruments from around the world.
I love colors! Bright, beautiful colors! Deep rich colors! Not drab and dreary colors! Colors that are reminiscent of spring and sunshine are my absolute favorite but I also like black and deep rich shades of brown. The interior of my house is decorated in sage green and peach with white accents. My living room is peach with sage green furniture. My kitchen is sage green with white wainscotting. I just bought a set of corelle dishes called "Delicate Array" with pretty flowers on them and they complete my kitchen! My children's bedroom is the only room that doesn't fit with the peach/green theme, but it does fit in with the garden theme. They have a garden bedroom with a big oak tree painted in the corner, lots of flowers on my daughter's side of the room and bugs and a pond on my son's side of the room. (They're still little so they enjoy sharing a room!)
My latest project: I've been asked to start teaching several series of vegan-vegetarian cooking classes as a community outreach. I've been studying up on health statistics and how our body works and I am learning so much! I've been collecting the most unusual visual aids for my new project: a 3-D manequin with removeable body organs is the coolest one I've got so far! My children are the only children on the street who get to play with puzzles that recreate the digestive system and other internal organs! LOL!
Our driveway is about 1/4 mile long and we love walking down to the raod every day to check the mailbox. It's the highlight of my 2 yr old's day! We love getting mail! (She especially likes the junk mail because I let her use the scissors on it!) I'm really looking forward to swapping with you!
THINGS I DON'T CARE FOR: anything unhealthy (candy, chips, chocolate, etc), cartoons, ATCΓ’β¬β’s, fairies, puppets, clowns - anything you wouldn't find in the natural world.
THINGS I WISH I WERE BETTER AT OR MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT: birdwatching, origami, gardening (I am learning with squarefoot gardening, though!) I wish I knew how to make nice soaps from scratch (rather than buying expensive premade soap from a craft store.) My husband is a beekeeper and I have gone to some of his beekeeper meetings and found it very interesting. I also really want to learn how to make beautiful garnishes out of fruits and vegetables (I'm starting to get acquainted with "Chef Harvey"). Someday I'd love to learn how to play the harmonica, but alas, so far I don't own a harmonica! But one day . . . :)
I love, love, love old hymns and traditional gospel music (but nothing with a heavy beat) - especially when my toddler "plays them" on the piano. (Well, you can't recognize the songs by the notes she plays, but she knows all the words!) I love to play CD's of instrumental hymns - I think it gives my home a wonderful ambience! I also love slow, relaxing scripture songs.
Movies? I don't have time for movies!
"Be The Creature" by National Geographic! In fact, it's the only TV show I actually think is worth spending time watching! And it's certainly the only one I'll let my daughter watch.
I love to sew, quilt, knit, crochet, and do paper crafts with my children. I have recently tried my hand at decorative painting and I'm beginning to really enjoy it!

Alina Joy,
Wonderful apron, such bright pretty colors....and thank you so much for sending it again & again--the darn post office didn't want to cooperate at all--but it finally made it, and was well worth the wait and anticipation...
