NOTE: we have a sick child at the moment and hope to catch up with my very late swaps if I get a chance soon.
I am a breastfeeding, potential cloth diapering, mommy of a baby girl who can’t live without Huggies Baby Wipes. I am a flip flop wearing, jeans sporting, mom of a 6 year old lady who still LOVES to wear her red high heels. I am a creative, silly, outspoken, social, and sometimes stubborn wife of a scientist. Some might call me an oxymoron, but you can call me Kay.
I am absolutely addicted to sewing...therefore i love FAT QUARTERS. About 3 years ago, I taught myself to sew and have been going strong ever since. Depending on where and what is going on in my life dictates what I am sewing. Currently, I have a 4.5 month old and a 6 year old daughters. So, I find myself sewing countless burp rags and bibs. Now, you can have enough blankets but I just can't seem to stop myself from sewing them. I am pondering doing cloth diapers so I am getting ready to whip up some prototypes.
I am wanting to take up quilting because there are some beautiful fabrics out there and the quilts don't looks as much like grandmas.
Other crafts that interest me are still related to sewing: applique. Now I don't have the best machine so I am a very basic appliquer (is that a word?).
I do like beading with my 6 year old. Therefore, I tend to stay away from the seed beads. They are just too hard to handle and keep off the ground. I adore making long necklaces that I can wrap multiple times around my neck. Its a fun craft to do with my little one.
I am always awful at this question because I think I might have the world most horrible memory recall. I always find songs on the radio I like but rarely do I know who the artist is. I am quite a fan of country music and love Kenny Chesney...primarily because it's just something me and my BFF bond over.
In no relation to music, I do love listening to NPR. They have the best stories!
I am just getting back into reading books. I have always been an avid reader but have taken many years off. I know, no excuse. I ran my own online business and just didn't have much time left to read with a family. Recently, I read "My Sister's Keeper." I thought it was great and figured I best read it since my hubby didn't want to see the movie. My MIL gave me a few James Patterson books, which I like his style of writing. I really want to join a book club.
PS...I love People magazine, primarily for the crossword puzzles at the back.
Ah...television. I feel like I watch too much but Oh Well. There are just somethings I won't give up. But, we have a DVR so I do a lot of catching up on shows when my 1st grader is at school and the baby is sleeping or content.
My current must see list includes: Royal Pains, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, House, The Mentalist, Fringe, and Lie to Me.
I don't mind watching DIY shows since I love to decorate.
I adore FLAMINGOS. It started a few New Years ago, but I just can't get enough of the cute ones. I'm not a fan of anything that looks tacky. I find it so hard to find any good flamingo fabrics :(
I love simple, modern floral patterns or brocade patterns. Stripes and polka dots are awesome as well. What is it with buttons..I love them and have a jar to collect them.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE high heels. Unfortunately, I don't get to wear them much since I don't go anywhere to sport them. The ladies at school for pick up might find me odd if I was wearing red high heels to get my daughter.
Krispy Kreme donuts are awesome. I honestly haven't had them in about 6 months. I had gallbladder issues during pregnancy so fatty foods were a no no for me. Now I am 15 pd under my pre-preggo weight so I just now find myself eating better.
PINK, BABY BLUE, TEAL, RED, and most shades of brown litter my home. I always end up finding myself purchasing fabric, decor, and paint in these families.
After viewing many swaps and profiles, I thought this to be another appropriate topic to enter on my page. Here are the favorites:
pin cusions, dishtowels (simple, nothing lacy or old lady like), anything vanilla smelling, zipper pouches, buttons, ribbons, zippers, handmade binding, mini-quilts, fabric coasters, pot holders, small abstract or simple nature prints, fashion scarves, glass bead necklaces, applique onesies for my daughter (9+ months), applique t-shirts for my daughter (6x, long), hair ribbons for my girls, flower & crocheted head bands from the baby, charleston chews, red licorice, vintage, art deco, handmade toys or rattles, love a simple bird or owl pattern on fabric or appliques.
Gosh...I start looking at profiles so I thought I should add this as well. PLEASE NOTHING THAT SMELLS LIKE SMOKE; oldest daughter has asthma. I would prefer no homemade food unless agreed upon. I really don't like anything character wise, old lady fabric prints, anything with animals on it except flamingos and a modern owl, anything that smells like chocolate or black licorice, nothing super girlie girlie except for my girls, teeny tiny beeds (6 year olds love to drop them), I'm not a huge fan of getting a jar of spongy, stickers though my daughter loves them.
I am a newbie and some of these items, I would love to receive or see (photos) for inspiration. I don't want to send out anything lame, though I am very creative so I doubt that would happen...but I need some confidence since it would be a first for me:
ATC, fabric postcards, FB, matchboxes, dotee dolls
I have a 6 year old that is half girlie girlie and half construction worker (we are always remodeling). You can find her in a skirt, pulling electric. She love princesses, anything pink, flamingos, doll cloths, great head bands, hair bows, and beading. We are also trying to come up with some awesome pink/green whimsical art or letter "M" for her walls. Ballet, need I say more.
I also have a 4.5 month old that pretty much likes breast feeding, sucking on her knuckles, and toys. I adore handmade rattles and toys. I've started collecting them for her. We are trying to decorate her room with whimisical art with the colors moss green and chocolate brown or letter "A".

Her other blog.
Her blog, should anyone need to contact her.
So you came back to swap-bot just to remove your blog links so no one will notice that you're more active than you say you are. But it doesn't mention ANYWHERE in your blogs that your child is sick! Is this an excuse? We've heard it all before too so it's up in the air whether it's true or not. You're active DAILY on your blog posting links, recipes, stuff about halloween, pictures, etc. But you can't even FREAKIN FOLLOW THROUGH with something you commited yourself too! How sad!
If you get one more 1 rating, you'll be suspended from swapping. Can't you please make good on your commitments?
Did you forget about Swap-Bot?
Wow, what a coincidence. Moss green and brown with the letter A. Our new granddaughter was just born and her parents did her room in the same colors with a touch of pink for accent. The killer though her name begins with an A also!! Love it!
