I am a married mother of 2 that works full time. I enjoy reading, making handicrafts, and doing fun stuff with my kids (that doesn't involve television); however I do enjoy a good movie now and then.
Right now I'm really into sewing and kniffty knitting. I've also taken up dotee doll making. I want to start doing embroidery art.
I've set a goal for myself for next Christmas and that is to make all the gifts for my family...or at least the majority of them.
I am currently fascinated by circus art and the history of the circus. I love the 80's and anything that makes me nostalgic for my childhood.
I don't really have time for scrapbooking even though I love it, so scrapbook supplies would be a waist on me.
I would love to have retro style fabrics-Michael Miller is my favorite or anything Lucille Ball(esque), textured multi colored yarn (I'm not a yarn snob, but please no super saver), embroidery floss, felt, handmade scarves, hankerchiefs, purses, coin purses, blankets, art, anything that is unique to a different part of the world (statues, pictures/artwork, religious artifacts, music, candy, etc), beads, needle threaders, large sewing/quilting needles, loom knitting supplies, and craft/sewing books.
Things that have a story behind them are the things that I find to be the most special. One of my favorite things is a set of Iraqi nesting dolls that my brother purchased for me when he was stationed in Iraq. I'm not sure how much they cost (probably not a lot) but they are a symbol of his bravery and they could never be replaced.
I like all types of music especially punk, indie, blues, and jazz....oh and 80's music (the cure, the smiths, the clash, psychadelic furs, etc)
Breakfast at Tiffanys, pretty much anything from the 80's (yes one of those people), Psycho, Halloween (the originals...I love a good thriller (no gore), any Woody Allen movie (although some are better than others). I love independant films (Welcome to the Dollhouse is one of my all time favorites). I also enjoy documetaries.
The only TV show I watch is Desperate Housewives... now that it's online.
Sewing, Knitting, and I want to get more into embroidery. This year I made 3 different aprons for gifts, but have yet to make one for myself.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. (My son is autistic, so this story hits home)
Nancy Drew Mystery Books (the originals)--yes they are a bit cheesy but I love them.
The Devil in the White City--so full of history but reads like fiction.
I love true crime novels especially Ann Rule books.
I enjoy reading just about anything, except science fiction (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is about as Sci-Fi as I get)
