About Me

THIS IS ME..... About time I updated my profile. I am still unemployed after 18 1/2 at the same job. I have returned to school to get an associate degree in Medical Assisting. Quite a challenge to be back in school when you are older than the teachers. But it has been fun and hard work. I am about 6 weeks away from graduating and then have another semester before I can take my certification test. Currently doing my clinicals at a family practice office. Wow...what an eye opener. Lots of hard work and no pay!!! But I am learning so much that will be important when I actually get a paying job.

I have cut way back on my swaps and only do one or two at a time. No time any more. I will always send but sometimes I am a day or two late. I always keep in touch if I am late sending. I WILL SEND I DON'T FLAKE!!!

I have been crafting for 30 plus years and have tried just about everything. I started making raggedy dolls when my girls were little and haven't looked back. I really, really love to paint and that is what I have been doing for the majority of my craft years. I do oils and acrylic and have tried just about all types of painting. I have yet to try watercolors though.

So you can imagine how neat my house is . . .NOT!! I am a total mess at home. Well, not that I have a path through each room, but I have stuff everywhere. YEAH!!!! I finally have a room for my craft stuff. A room all my own. Now I just have to figure out how to get all my supplies in there.

I am currently waaaaaaaay into primitive folk art painting. That is my line of painted things that I sell at craft fairs throughout the year.. I will paint anything that dosen't move. I have painted table leaves, magnolia leaves, anything wood, gas cans, kerosene cans, spoons, cake savers, muffin tins, match tins, lunch boxes, suitcases, shelves, peg boards, silverware boxes, picnic baskets, glass jars, lanterns, clothing, buttons, shovels, hoes, trays, pots, plates and my husband if he sits still long enough. I have painted sheep on everything under the sun....

I have an etsy shop, but it is idle at the moment but you can see some of the things I sold last year FlemingFarmDesigns.etsy.com update: I have a few thing in my etsy store, more on the way. I am in the process of opening a new etsy store with recycled things. Just don't have enough inventory yet.

Comment: You really did outdo yourself!!!! The three wash clothes are so precious. I can't wait to use them. The soaps smell absolutely amazing! Plus, tell your daughter the folded swan is such a sweet surprise. I fold origami, but that is so tiny! She has great skills. Thanks for making my week!!!
Response: Hope you enjoy the washcloths. Once I got started I couldn't stop. My daughter apologized and said that she could make a smaller one (!!) out of cigarette paper, that one is out of a gum wrapper. Origami amazes me, I have trouble folding laundry!!!

Comment: Barbara - I love the bag! It is just a perfect fit for me. I have to run to Home Depot and Michaels later and I am using that bag - we'll see what happens! Thanks so much for the pepples. I've added them to my collection and I enjoy they good feelings I get from them. I would love to have on the big ones - so I need to talk Huny into a trip there one day!
Response: Great, glad the bag is a good "fit". Remember, "Dirt Bag" can be a good thing!!! Talk the huny into Surf City, it's a great family beach, very quiet but there are a lot of rednecks there!!

Thanks so much for the awesome Beatles package!! What an exciting mail day; I've been having a stressful month and it was a nice distraction. Love the pouches (and yes, I spotted the yellow submarine!) and the cool t-shirt turned bag! Notebook is amazing, especially the music sheets you put in. Thanks again, this really made my day. :)
