About Me

Spoiler Alert! Do not go to my pictures if you are my swap partner and want it to be a surprise.

I'd like to do one-on-one swaps for wooden Christmas ornaments from different countries, I can send profile surprises or ??.

If you are looking for nice handmade books visit my shop !

Please let me know if you haven't gotten my swap - I would never sign up for a swap and not send.......I rate straight away, if you haven't gotten a rating from me let me know, chances are it never arrived.

I am 48 and live on a lake in northeast Ohio with my husband and boxer dog. I have been a hospice volunteer for about 7 years. Laid off in January 2010 I have decided to take my art and book binding full time. My interests vary - I am a book nerd, gardener (perennials are the best, sort of like old friends showing up year after year), home renovation and art of all sorts. If I were to pick one catalog that reflects my style it would be Sundance. I, for the most part do ATC's or other paintings up to 8x10 here on Swap-Bot and nearly all are hand drawn or painted. I am pretty laid back and love making people laugh and truly believe it is more fun to give than receive...but not so much as to not mind getting flaked on.

Comment: Andrea, this ATC came out great! I love what you did with the Tyvek. I am definitely going to have to play with that technique sometime. Beautiful as usual!!!
Response: Great! I was worried about the simplicity. If you use Tyvek, I found if you paint your background on a nice large piece, heat it (it shrinks a LOT), then trim the part that suits you best! Be careful, you can melt holes into it!

Comment: Thanks for 3 (2?) lovely landscapes! I had trouble with this technique, too, but I'm planning to try some more (on postcard scale or larger - larger seems easier to me).

Comment: Thank you for the woven ATC. The actual raffia weaving is so textural and interesting and the beaded embellishment just kicks it up to the next level.

Comment: Andrea, what an amazing ATC you've sent me (again!) I love that you chose to use art as your focus, and you did a fantastic job with Lichtenstein. Loved the back of your ATC, too!
Response: I was verrry nervous about that ATC, I'd never used all markers and it looked so cartoon-y but it was either a Lichtenstein or a Warhol and opted for the former. Both were so "POP"ular the year I was born.....back to paint for Belize on it's way to you now! Thank you SO much for the rating, I always love sending art your way :)

Comment: Thank you so much - I do love the water (and lighthouses) and this is very nicely done.
Response: Love that you love the subject! That metal gave me the willies when I touched it! Most of it was done while wearing surgical gloves!! Thanks for the kind rating :)
