well, writing about yourself is always pretty weird, but here goes!
I live in Auckland, which is the largest Poynesian city in the world, and the largest city in NZ although in comparasion to other big cities it's not that big - about 1.2 million people but spread out over a city bigger in geographical terms than London.
I really like trying out making different things - at the moment I'm making fruit-shaped brooches made of felt, and I'm a big fan of vintage/old materials that I can rehabilitate and turn into something else.
I used to have penpals when I was little and I love getting things in the mail, so I'm looking forward to swapping things with people in other countries. I've travelled a fair bit and I'm always interested in the small things that make places different from each other.
This is a tricky one. At the moment I'm listening to some Nigerian funk from the 70s.
I don't watch much television but tend more to watch TV series on DVDs. I've just finished watching an Australian series called Summer Heights High - watch it, it's very funny. I'm also a big fan of Larry David.
I feel a bit uncomfortable about telling people what I like (that feels a little rude somehow!) but I recognise that it helps potential swap partners. My tastes are more towards retro/vintage style - my house is furnished with a lot of wooden furniture from the 60s. I like kitsch but I don't surround myself with it - just a touch now and again. I prefer bold geometric prints over flowery ones.
I'm not so fond of folksy style items, but if I don't end up keeping it for myself, it might go into my props store and end up on stage in a show sooner or later.
My favourite colours are orange, dark purple, brown and dark green.
