Hi I'm Jo, I am 27 and I live in Virginia, USA. I have a 5 year old daughter that is my world. I am a bartender/server who plans to go back to school, soon. I love books, I read everyday. I enjoy photography, swimming, movies, music, playing with my daughter.
I was diagnosed with MS summer 2011 and have had some issues lately that may or may not be stemming from the MS. Slowly my accessories and such are becoming a mix of orange and purple.... Purple is my favorite color, but orange is the color for MS usually :)
Some of my likes:
Mint tea (herbal!), cats (well animals in general, but cats are my favorite!), I love wild flowers and mixed bouquets (not really a fan of roses.... not sure why?!), long drives with no real goal or plan, Pinot Noir is my favorite wine, fuzzy socks..... I'm sure this will be added to as I go along!
Some of my dislikes:
Caffeine (I actually like to sleep, and this prevents it!), cold feet, spiders (they are just not right!), sweet pea scented things.... I think this is good for now!
With all the sticker swapping I've done..... Bug and I are starting to get a really cool and diverse collection of stickers :) So if you have stickers that aren't "standard" stickers..... we'd love to add them to our collection! I've just gotta find a book I like to hold them all!!
Bug and I finally got a book for our postcards! They don't have to be hiding in my swap drawers! Yes, I'm trying to be super organized and I have a whole set of those plastic drawers dedicated solely to holding note cards, postcards, recipe cards, stickers (I need a book for holding our collection still!), pens, markers, coloring pencils, etc....
Country music is a favorite, Glee cast, pop, just about everything but Rap and Opera. Favorite singers include Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Reba MacIntire, George Strait, Luke Bryan, Josh Turner, BSB, NKOB, Katy Perry, Adele, Selena Gomez, Demi Lavatto, and more
Twilight Series, Harry Potter Series, Anne Rice, Nora Roberts (I've read most, if not all, of her books), Historical Romance, Supernatural genre (vampires, warewolves, witches, etc). Jayne Anne Krentz (and all of her other writing names) are good books (read most of the Arcane Society).
I've read a LOT of books. Thankfully I'm lucky enough to have a really good library! But I enjoy reading, so I'll keep on reading! General genres are the historical romances (like Sabrina Jeffries), supernatural stories (see above), and young adult novels. I love the Castle books also.
I have a KINDLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let me just say I was bouncing off the walls with JOY when I finally got a Kindle for Christmas this year :) So.... now it's even easier to take my addiction with me!
Dirty Dancing, Pride & Prejudice, Twilight, Harry Potters, Emma, Pirates of Caribbean, Footloose, Rio, Cars, Shrek (all of them!), I can add Puss in Boots to the list now! I saw Immortals (in 3D!!!) and it was amazing! Chipwrecked was cute and fun with Bug :) Underworld (all of them!) are favorites since I've finally been able to see the latest (I say finally like I had to wait all that long LOL).... Breaking Dawn.... Liked it (loved the book more!). One for the Money was funny :)
Movies I want to see.....We Bought a Zoo, War Horse, The Vow, Act of Valor, Snow White & the Huntsman, Beastly.... I'm sure this list will change also. It's just easier to find movies I want to see than figure out all the movies I've loved in the past :)
CSI, Castle, Law & Order SVU, What not to Wear, Cougartown, Army Wives, Dancing with the Stars, Secret Circle, Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Last Man Standing, Man Up.........
Newest addiction is Once Upon a Time! LOVE LOVE LOVE that show :)
Shows my daughter loves, Blue Clues, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Wizards of Waverly Place...... Mostly she's a Disney kid!
I enjoy scrapbook, Crochet, sewing, sketching.... I need to set up the art easel I got for Christmas.... But that will be done once I rearrange my room :)
This is a simple list of "need to know" facts in case you are in a swap with me :)
There are no food allergies in this house.
Favorite color is Purple.
I like 'cause' items like pink and yellow ribbons in support of research for cancers and diseases and supporting our military. I know ORANGE is for MS, which I was diagnosed with this past summer.
I love lip gloss.... even the medicated chap sticks (blistex rocks! LOL). Although I'm not a fan of the soda flavored ones....
I love to crochet and I need to get started again! So little accessories, hooks, etc are always welcome. Easy patterns are also cool. I'm still learning :)
Post cards that represent something about where someone lives or has visited are very cool. I like the simple ones that don't really represent any specific place.... but it's a lot of fun to see a collection of "I got this post card from ______ and this one from ______."
If you want to make "our swap" more of a swap between you and her, my daughter (Juli Bug) is turning 5 in January, loves lip gloss (runs in the family?), stickers, Tinkerbell, Princesses of Disney, Mickey Mouse, Handy Manny, Sunglasses, etc. I have no problem doing the same if you want something more geared to your little one! Just message me if I have you as a recipient in a swap :)
I love colored pens! And markers.... Especially permanent markers for coloring and decorating envelopes since they won't get ruined by a drop or two of water if it happens to be raining on delivery day.
I have a cat, or actually a cat has me. She would tell you that I don't have a room, she has a room she lets me use.
I am horrible about matching my sheets.... I usually have some "theme" or common color scheme, but the pillow cases only sometimes match the sheets, and I can't even promise the flat sheet actually matches the fitted sheet.... and the body pillow never matches the sheets or other pillow cases. All that said, if you want to send me pretty (and soft) pillow/body pillow cases feel free!
My favorite color is purple. Least favorite is probably pink, or pukey green. I love bright pretty cheerful colors in general though.
So this is a small wish list that I will probably build on as time goes on:
Small hair clips. I have a love of hair clips, but since my hair is short I can't use large clips. Anything with flowers, decorative, colorful, etc I'll probably use it. (If I won't, my daughter can!)
Location post cards.
Dry erase markers (my daughter has dry erase books and a dry erase board)
Markers. Permanent and washable work. I just love colors.
Notebooks, composition note books work.
I LOVE lady bugs :) Anything lady bug is cool by my book
Fairies. And not just Tinkerbell fairies.... Any kind of beautiful fairies are also welcome in my mail box ;)
I promise to try to rate as soon as I can! Please do the same for me
If somehow the swap did not make it to your mail box, please let me know and I'll get it out to you as soon as I can again! Thanks!!!
This is all about my little girl :)
She is a silly girl who loves getting mail.... I can't believe she's five. She will start kindergarten this fall and is really excited and looking forward to making friends and learning cool "stuffs"
Her "wishlist" would include:
*markers/crayons/colored pencils (washable please!)
*coloring books (or pages)
*flash cards (numbers and letters)
*My little pony (anything! LOL)
*movies (even VHS) (I love the $5 bin at walmart and the sales at Target)
*reading books (early/beginning readers)
*Learning activity books
*******This is a more developed list of wishes/likes in case you want to do a "Profile suprise" for my daughter rather than for me..... I promise I won't be disappointed if I have to share with her....
